You need a fine file to take abou 1/2mm off the plastic end of 6300 battery, it will fit and last longer.

Really a stylish mobile......but really got hurt by this battery,its weak. Cant dare to switch on my FM.......ETC

hi can anybody tell me if this phone is good for listening to music, does it drain the battery life a lot while listening to music??
If this phone isn't good for music then im planning to get the SE z710i. I am also probably going to scratch my phone a few times so im wondering which phone should i get? nokia 6300 or SE z710i

i guess its teh size that makes it so attractive..
but the problem is the battery life... since the screen is min millions of colors.. and since the loudspeaker is loud, battery dies off quick

just buy a 6300, but little disappoint, 320x240 MP4 movie can not be played on 6300, but no problem on 6233. after I tune down to 200kbit, it work. some themes work fine in 6233, also not work on 6300. I don't know why, they are same S40 V3, why is different?

about 10 minutes to send a mp3? that IS a lot! just wondering, was he/she using a motorola v3? it has the slooooowwwest bluetooth ever made (had one), next followed by the lg chocolate (had one too). Speed differs between mobile manufacturers.
It took me less than 20 seconds to send a 4-5mb mp3 file to a friend, via bluetooth, he was using a nokia 6131 and I was using the nokia 6300, then sent the same file to another friend, he had a SE w300, took like 40 seconds to complete.

Can anyone help me out please? I think somethin's wrong with my bluetooth (6300) 'coz it takes forever to send files to other phones. My phone was mocked as stylish but ineffective by my friends coz it took me like 10 minutes to send a 3.4MB file. -Carlo

This phone is brilliant!! I work in a phone shop so i get to see all the latest handsets and have a play around with them but this one is a brilliant handset if u like basic but with many features on! Everythin u see is what u get, theres no hidden files u have to find, its one easy menu and ur in!
Iv had many diff phones such as nokn95 samsghu600 sek810i there all the best quality phones out but i still stick to my little cute 6300!! u wont b dis-o-pointed!
Batt does only last bout 2 days but as with any phone the more u use the features on it or leave bluetooth on its going to drain it! memory cards are well cheap at the mo for it! 14.99 for sandisk 1gb!!! lets u have 3000 pictures! the 2mp camera is pretty dam god aswell!!

this phone battery does not even last for a day if you listen to music and stuff BElieve me just google it and you will know it

Im about to buy this phone but can anyone tell me the following:
1. is it dustproof? I dont want reading my msgs if dust is under the screen cover
2. i send my sms to a group list in my W810. Is it possible with this phone?
3. can java apps be installed to this phone from other phone through bluetooth
4. is it capable of multitasking? can handle two or more java apps at the same time?
Hope to hear from you guys before I buy this handset. thanks in advance

If you want a good looking phone and are not a heavy user buy it. If you want something more practical stick with the 6230i, don't get the 6233 unless you've got 20 20 vision, message font size too small even when set to large, I agree with Rodders, a new version of the 6230i without too many changes, just a bigger better screen, a winner for me.

Had this phone a couple of weeks now, I like it, Yes you can make bigger battery fit, message alert could be a bit louder and ring tone acsends when receiving calls despite having it set on ringing, but it's easy to use and looks good. I think nokia should upgrade the 6230i, bigger screen and similar keypad to this phone, I would certainly by one.

It is possibble to modify the battery from your 6230, this gives quite a bit extra usage time, can anyone tell me how to get voice recorder to playback, very quiet.

hi... thinking of buying 6300.. heard its good but after going through d comments... dono wheather 2buy or not... does d battery has really prob...N wat abt headset N does it has MessageList 2send message... for many at a time.... Rather than send 2 many..i.e., send to list....

This is a GREAT phone! The 16 million colour screen is fantastic! After using this i wont be able to go back to 256k!!! The battery life is not that weak, comes with a 128mb memory card! Get this phone, it's worth it believe me! So slim and sexy too!

I finally got this Nokia 6300 and playing / exploring with it in a week. Yes, I totally agree with the battery of this wonderful mobile phone as short of expectations. It drains quickly using file transfers with the Bluetooth connection while playing mp3 files does not. I am planning to change the BL4C battery with a BL5C to give more boost. There are only two mobile phones from Nokia that I really appreciated with respect to the aesthetic designs, the 6210 & 6300.
