I really want this phone, however anyone can tell me where to get the 850mhz US version? Is it even available yet? The 900mhz is all over but doesn't work with T-mobile or Cingular at least in my area. ??? Thanks.

We'd been waiting the release of the Nokis 6300 very eagerly here in Dubai. It had been out of stock since it was released. even the price had gone up, initially it was sold for

        Guys,

Just my last point. Firstly, everyone had wrongly fallen into the arguement by comparing 6300's batt. life with other models and even other brands.

Every model/brand of phone batt. has different capability as stated in their specifications.

We are taling about how to charge the batt. properly to obtain its optimun batt. life as stated in the 6300's specification, and should not be arguing about how much shorter the 6300's batt. life comparing with another Nokia phone or the nost silly one, compare it with that Phillip xenium batt. life!

Nokia 6300 is one of the best of non-3G phone and its batt. life is also performs or lasted as stated in its specificcation.

        Cheers all!

Not forgetting that there are some writers in the 6300 posting are "enticing" 6300 users to MODIFY their BL-5C batteries to fit into their 6300, I think this is even a more serious matter. Don't you think. Considering if the other user (who are desparate to improve the battery power) really modify the battery & not know what they are doing, the modified batteries can explode & can cause bodily harm.

So do not tell me that I can get barred from posting here. I am not asking users to risk their life.....Think about it.

To my friend from England, nice to know you have a good sense of humor..... Sure, it is nice to own someting that is really cool and I think the 6300 is COLD.... (since it is made of steel.... the phone feels like ice...specially here in Greenland). I owned the 6300 and I do agree that the phone is Superb.

Of course, I am sure there are many people who buys the 6300 and love it, but I am sure there are others who disagree. But I disagree with you that Nokia personnel should get a pay rise.... (cannot predict pay rises based on 1 phone). They are already one of the best paying engineers and designers in the phone industries....Best Paid are SE engineers.

Personnally, I like the 6300 very much.....considering that I used to have a 6610, so that was a BIG improvement.

Have a good day in England.

              Bye

I spoken to a Technical personnel of Nokia here in Australia, he told me the reasons that they use the BL-4C batteries on the 6300 instead of the higher BL-5C batteries (which could have been used in the 6300) because the BL-4C provide a longer lasting than the BL-5C. Due to some technical configuration of the phone, the 6300 require a more stable battery, & therefore, the 4C batteries were used. (The BL-4C batteries have a longer lifespan.....ie :- batteries normally have a lifespan of about 9 months to 1.5 years. But the BL-4C can gives about 2 - 3 years of usage.)

The BL-5C batteries are not "Compatible" to the 6300 due to the internal structure of the phone. He continued to stress that it is not recommended to use the BL-5C batteries (after modifications or otherwise) even if there are increase in usage and power, these are only temporary. The BL-5C (if use in the WRONG phones) can last not more than 5 months and users will see a "very drastic" reduction in power resulting in more batteries replacements.

To all those users that think their Nokia 6300 batteries are GOOD....

Wake Up !!! you call 6300 batteries are good, Oh please !! don't make the hairs on my toes laugh....ha ha ha.

I think you all felt so guity getting the 6300 (got ripped off by Nokia....there is a ****** born every minute) that you're merely trying to console yourself thinking that the batteries are Good.

Seriously, you want to know what is good batteries.. go visit Philips Website in the Asia Pacific region and Look at the handphone. The +Xenium 9@9a can standby for 1 month and in heavy usage - 3 weeks !!!!!!. Now that is what I call Good batteries. I am a proud owner of the +Xenium 9@9a.

I am not saying that Nokia's phones are lousy, I think their phones are good, but I just feel that there are so much of stupidity (when I read thru the opinions in here) and guilt that everyone has nothing to say but the batteries.....

                    Get a life !!

Goodness!!!! we have the right to post our thoughts, reviews, comments, suggestions, recommendations, the good the bad and the ugly of phones. Of course, regardless of which phones we have, no one (except GSMARENA) can stop us from posting opinions here.

In fact, it is good to be able to get comments & comparisons from our model users (so we can actually compare). Without comparison, makers will not improve and naturally consumers will suffer.

You got rid of your 8800 sirocco for the 6300, makes you another stats...... you compared the 8800 to the 6300 and you LOVE the 6300. Without doubt, you have improved & matured. It makes you no different from the other guy who has the 6233. If that guy (who owns the 6233) loves the 6233, does it bother you, if the guy who owns the 6233 wants to put his or her comments about 6233 in every phone opinion in all the world, can you stop it. I do not think so.

Yeah, you post your comments, and I posted mine, they posted theirs and ultimately, we are all stats, you are no different from him or her or me or them.

Trust me, if a manner of months, I am sure there will be another phone that is Better, Stronger, slimmer, Meaner and more beautiful than the 6300, so infact it is you; who do not know what you're talking about. As there it is a NEVER ENDING STORY......Ha Ha Ha.

                      Chow, my friend.

hmm... funny to see that ppl r dissing the phone for its battery life. becoz thats not the case for me. after using for phone for a couple of months (with discipline on charging), i think the battery has conditioned well and now it lasts 3-4days instead of 2-3days - with moderate talking time. love the phone. btw, the phone still is a talking point wherever i go :-)

Its abig flop in Pakistan.& days ago its price started with 24000 rupees but today it has price only 16000 rupees.Reduce price one third in 7 days show the big ugly Nokia at present.Nokias are reducing their customers day by day but Motorola SE are increasing their customers.Nokias should think upon screen resuletion, which is far far poorer than others that is minus point.16 M colors a lot dimmer than 262 k colors as compare to other companies SE Moto,Samsung.Nokias r presenting only fake specifications to making customers fool but no reality in any espect.Be careful
