To the person who needs a review (XeeShan). I guess you have already read thru most of the users commence. So in actual fact we are reviewing the 6300.

    Conclusion :- Ratings :- Above 10 is Excellent, 10 - best and 1- lousy

    Screen - 11

    keypad - 9.5

Functions - 7.5 (the lights on the sides supposed to work when receiving calls....but it doesn't. Only works when receiving SMS).

    Structure - 10.5

    Communication (USB, Bluetooth) - 9

    PC suite - 8

Battery - (minus 10). My own opinion. HOPELESS !!!

    Music Player - 7

    Accessories - 9

Video - minus 3.4 (Really really lousy when view on PC.

Sound/Speakers - 2. (Rather soft). My Motorola STARSTAC (from 1980's is louder than the 6300).

Camera - 5 - 7 (Good on phone screen, bad on PC screen)

    Reception - 11.

Volume (recordings) - 7 (too soft, but clear)

Conclusion = 6.5 out of 10 (would have scored higher if not for the lousy battery).

Sure, I can write a Review on the 6300...

      - not recommended for business persons (sales) or persons who need to use the phone for a living....you'll get fire!!! because your clients & company cannot contact you since the battery in the 6300 will drain out before lunch !!!!!!!

      - highly recommended to :- grandma, grandpa, housewives or house hubbies (who can stay home to use the land lines...just incase the 6300 runs out of batteries), people who got no friends (since no one can contact you), show offs....people who wants to "show-off" the lastest trend and knowing that the 6300 is really lousy {{{{{including myself, since i own the 6300}}}}}}}

      - lousy batteries.

      - nice metallic frame & beautiful screen

      the end of review.

I charged it from 7pm till 8am in the morning. That is more than 13 hrs. I could use the phone as follows :-

1 hr talk time (varies from time to time)
10-15mins games (while traveling to work)
40mins music (while traveling from wotk)
Playing with other gadgets within the phone.

All the above but without running the wallpaper, screensaver but having the sleep mode on & key lock.

I could get the battery to last about 1.5days (less than half). But it is really kind of silly, since I cannot affort to really let the battery drain out, therefore, I will always charge in at half or less than half level.

So ultimately, I really do not know if it can less for 2 days or more, since I cannot afford for the photo to drain out.

Actually, my colleague is using the 6300 phone. He is a Sales Manager and MUST always have a phone with good battery (he needs to talk to clients out on the streets). He talks more than 3 - 5 hrs. He doesn't like to change batteries on his phone. He got this phone (because he thought it has good batteries) + he saw me with the phone.

Now, he told me that he has given the 6300 to his grand father (since he seldom receive any calls). The calls has grand father gets will not be more than 1 hr.

In conclusion, this phone looks like it fits a business person, but in actual fact the talk time is so lousy that is SHOULD NOT be recommended to business persons. It (battery) does not perform as promised.

So, I guess we are all Grand Fathers & mothers, since we own the 6300. Hello!!! Grams....Ha Ha Ha.

            About the short-life battery.

Please make sure you charge your battery for at least 10 hours for the 1st time before use! If you haven't done so on the first day, you still can charge it know for 10 hours. You will see the difference with a positive reusult. The battery's life is good, and it's not as bad or as short as you think! You just have to charge it once for at least 10 hours to optimised the battery's capability!

To the guy who have been playing with batteries.

Well, I do not really care, and of course it is none of my business. But remember. NOT EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING !!!!. + It documented on all batteries that DO NOT DISSEMBLE OR MODIFY.

You're right, the batteries are small AMP. I DID NOT SAY IT WILL KILL. I just say it does DAMAGE to your EARS, FACE & HANDS.

Anyway, do whatever you want. I do not care, it isn't me who is getting hurt.......But when they do......don't come and cry.

                  Cheers man !!

loudspeaker and sound quality very poor for the 21st century, ive taken my phone back but the other 2 were the same, not a patch on 6233...

P.S: you shouldn't need to apply too much force from the bottom, so don't overdo it!

will check back in the morning (9pm now).

its a nightmare I know, I had exactly the same problem. it took me lots of trying first time. I nearly took it back...

                            Just try this again step-by-step:

                            1. Push the back cover up as far as you can get it, so you have the gap at the top and the overhang at the bottom.
                            2. Look at the gap at the top of the back cover. There are two white bits on each side of the phone at the same level as the gap. These are lights that change to blue when you turn the power on. You are going to apply pressure just above these white lights->

                            3. Squeeze the metal back cover from the sides with one hand. Push the cover up with the other hand. **You are squeezing the back cover from both sides ON the curve - just above the white lights **

If you take the back cover off completely you can see that just above the white lights there are two tiny metal clips, the idea is that you are pushing these in when squeezing the cover. This should allow it to slide up.

Let me know how you get on....

thinkjim, i've been trying that and putting as much force as pos but it just won't slide up! was it quite easy for you or did it take some effort?

don't want to take it back and look a fool!

                              many thanks

ref the over-hang and the rear cover not sliding to the top; I had this problem:

Just squeeze the sides (where the white bits are) and push the cover up. It will slide into place properly then.

hi, i recieved my 6300 today and love it! the only comestic problem i have is the back cover. it doesn't seem to slide all the way to the top which means there's a slight over hang at the bottom. can anyone tell me if they suffer from this or is it just my phone? if so then i'm gonna take it back and get it replaced.

                                  many thanks

You should be very careful if you do modify the battery as I have tried. Although I haven't had any problems you could void the warranty an injure yourself.

When I said I had cut away part of the battery, what I meant to say was that I trimmed a porition of the plastic section at the top of the battery, as tried by others. This was only in the region of 2-3mm, in total and has not exposed any metal or any other part of the battery.

AS others have said you, need to be very careful if you try this.
