Hey all,
got this phone today. It is an excellent little phone, here are my views:
1-first of all, the 6500 back plate is plastic, and comes covered in "clingfilm" to protect it. I am used to my 6300, with the metal backplate/battery cover. It felt a bit cheap.
2-the keypad is a little hard to get used to. I am an avid texter, and i dont think this would be my perfect texting phone, still prefer the 6300.
3- the menu is very fast indeed, and the 1gb internal mem is cool.
4- the "all in one" connection is fab, i think. You can plug your headphone, or your charger, or your data cable, in that one single connection - the phone is beautiful and that single "hole" in it makes it stand out - very nice.
5-battery time was good
6-too expensive for the features! It is, essencially, a nokia 6300, with a nicer (a lot nicer) outer casing. Nevertheless, a head turner.
I really like the phone, but was very disappointed with the plastic back plate/battery cover.

Good looking phone but the keypad is a nightmare - keep wanting to push the silver bits that are raised. By the way, best way to get the cover off is grip it with 2 fingers and pull it off.

I'm planning 2 buy this phone,but I wanted 2 know if it plays MP4 videos,coz my 6300 does play MP4 videos but the frames per second speed is very slow,so the video and audio do not sync well.

This is a good phone overall.....deserve an 8/10 rating.

Standby time is really good; but talk time is short(I can barely squeeze 2 hrs).

nokia website stated that the talk time for this model is 3.5hrs while gsmarena is 5.5hrs which is which? can anyone tell me the power managment of this unit compared to other nokia phones.

I charged mine up yesterday, made 4 or 5 calls today plus about 10 texts and it's still showing full!
When I first got it I charged it for 2 hours, let it run flat, charged for another two hours, let it run flat and then gave it a 12 hour charge whilst I was asleep!

After reading your below comment, I just tried taking a picture in a totally dark room. The flash was working fine & the picture came out alright! Do you know what you are talking about? ...or do you even have this phone?

Phone them back, push them harder, on a 12 month deal they offered me 400 mins 500 text for £25 a month.
As said before, I got 600 mins, 500 texts for £20 on 18 month deal.

bought this phone 3 days ago.. i tried the flash of the camera in the dark, when i tried to take a picture with the flash is automatic or on, the result is totally dark... it seems like the flash is useless...

Hello, i have just recently baught this phone and its great. I just have a problem with calling. The speech of the other person is quite blurred and not very clear. I have already selected the option for voice clarity.... but its still not good... any ideas?? anyone??

on here people say turn the gsm off, what does the gsm actually do ? does it effect the phones in anyway being off or on ?

Great handset. Does nothing more or nothing less than I need from a mobile phone. It is also a great design. Well done nokia.
