" This phone looks horrible because it's very prone to smudges and fingerprints."
No it's not, only the battery cover on the rear of the phone. The front is brushed aluminium which is impossible to get prints on!

OK. I actually have one. Lets look at my usage pattern when it copmes to mobile phones.
1/ I listen to music. No one on this earth who really listens to music needs or wants or likes to carry around more than a couple of hundred songs. 1 GB is perfect. If you want 60GB listen to hip hop on the radio. The music player on this harldy drains any power and sounds great.
2/ I make phone calls and text. I travel all over the world constantly for my work. I need to be able to call while in Asia (including Korea and Japan), the USA, Australia, Europe and Africa. This phone is the only one I have had that allows me to do all this.
This phone is perfect for a traveling businessman who hates windows mobile devices, wants huge battery life and a reliable phone. Who the hell does video calls except for Japanese models selling phones?
I love it.

Do I have the right to post my opinion & what I think & recommand to others on this site as I was a pre-owner of this phone?!
You are obviously either a Nokia 6500 fans or you work for Nokia, trying to push sales.
You better not talk nonsense ...just give your comment/experience about this phone; if you have any...

Well, you have redeemed yourself somewhat by not resorting to more immature tripe.
But lets face facts: no one is being forced into buying anything. People are merely recommending something and on this board, it just so happens to be the 6500 Classic. Which isn't too odd, considering this is a board FOR the 6500 Classic.
Why someone would be on this board if they weren't even interested in the 6500 Classic is debatable - perhaps they clicked the wrong link...
But at the end of the day, it is up to the consumers to make their decision.
You can read the opinions and then make your own decision as to what you want to buy - no one is holding a gun to anyones head. Plus, if you live in a democracy, you can quite easily take the phone back for a refund should you not be happy.
Plus you are contradicting yourself as well - one mans slate is another mans gold - so to sit there are say everyone who says the 6500 Classic is great are wrong and that you are right for saying that the W910 is amazing is a bit of a double-standard.
Everyone likes different things so for that reason, why is there even this argument? Why not go out with your friends instead of sitting in, on your computer, whining like a wh0re? Or do you require your friends to be "feature rich" and SE branded too?

You are right! I like to offend those Nokia sales/new user who post un-reasonable opinion because they want to defend what they sell/own!
I believe readers who come to this website looking for HONEST comments from existing users. I hate people mislead others into buying this phone with their hard earned money!!!
Not that everyone have the kind of money like me(I'm not saying I'm rich) who can buy a phone(s) anytime they wanted to!
Got my point?! Are u one of them?!

Call quality is very good ...same clarity as the 6120 classic. Other than this, I honestly can't remember what else made me brought this phone! Oh yes, the look & the solid feel! But they don't last; which was the reason I sold mine!
Good luck to people who just received theirs or those whos planning to acquire one...

Oh PLease, U can pick a hundred phones that has a bigger screen and better fonts. why are you comparing this phone to a phone which has a completely different purpose? an Iphone would have a bigger screen and better fonts than w910i, so what's your point? Why are you picking on these little details in a fashion phone anyways? U can have a million things to pick on . u might say, why not a battery with 10 hrs talk time? why not wifi? why not 8GB internal memory? why not 5mp camera? just leave it as is. Nokia's been around for many years. you think they don't know what they are doing? Have some common sense.

W910i got a better & bigger screen(2.4"). Bigger & clearer fonts.
There's comment from someone below saying that 3G is meant for fast data transfer.....not video calling, so why not 3.5G(HSDPA)?
Come on guys, what's the point of defending a phone because you think that it is good looking but with so many design faults!
Let's tell the truth!

In response to the guy before this post. You surely said alot for "all i can say".
First off, no one said this phone had the best functions. All of us agreed that this phone is a fashion phone with acceptable functions of today. You can never compare this with your new SE w910. And to me this phone looks way better than any SE. (that's my opinion of course) For you to be complaining about the functions of this phone VS other phones is totally immature. Just think about the selling point of this phone!
Besides, why would you go for a SE w910? it's just like the 20 other slider phones SE came out with. It's getting too boring. If i wanted more functions, i would get the iphone, it's got the latest technologies, WIFI and an 8GB+ harddrive. and it's one of a kind! not like "another" slider phone from SE.

Some people are so lame ....3G was originally meant for videao calling! It all started in Japan more than 10 years ago. Japanese phones all have 3G video calling capability back then, when the reat of the world were only using CDMA phones with in-build SIM card. We were unable to use those beautiful Japanese phones cause we were not on the same platform. They have their own system.
Anyway, I traded-in my 6500 classic for the more beautiful Sonyericsson W910i & I'm a lot more satisfy!
As a pre-owner, all I can say is that this phone is really not as good as some people brag about.

I got mine last week. It's soo beautiful!
I have some questions for you guys. Is there anywhere i can adjust the length of time the screen light is on? I find the screen is still lit long after i lock the phone / not using it. I don't want to drain battery like that. furthermore, what exactly is sleep mode?
If you are into elegant phones.. THIS ONE IS IT!

Excellent!
Just received the phone - was delivered at work.
It is stunning. Easily the no.1 target for muggers out there right now, that is how desirable this thing is.
I have never owned a phone that looks this good and I have gone through 8 different models over the past several years.
This thing replaces my painfully sh!t (and very dull looking) D900, and I don't think I will ever go back to Samsung - their phone software is shockingly bad. Nokia easily produces the best software for their phones (i.e. texting is easy and flows - on a Samsung, texting is incredibly dated, frustrating and clumsy).
I have been waiting a long, long time for Nokia to produce something like this - a functional phone which is excellent at what it should do (like txt, call clarity, etc) yet is encased in an elegant, stylish and (most importantly) SLIM case.
When I saw the 6500 Classic dummy phone in Carphone, I didn't think this phone was that spectacular. Needless to say, the finished article looks a million times better - so you CAN believe the hype behind this phone - it really does look that good!
Probably my best or most favourite phone ever in terms of performance vs size was the Nokia 6100 - a tiny little phone which was both sexy and functional. It has never been beaten.
Until now.
The 6500 Classic simply BLOWS the 6100 away, both in terms of performance and looks. It's almost like comparing Jessica Alba to Pammy. Sure Pammy was amazing back in the day, but she is nothing compared to our lovely Alba - same thing with these phones!
Looks like Nokia is FINALLY cracking it - and thank f*ck they overhauled their design team to get them out of producing horribly geeky, plain, dull brick phones ever since 2002 onwards.
In fact, my other favourite phone of all time - the highly rated Nokia 6210 - which is considered to be one of the best business phones ever, is also about to have its 7 year crown knocked off. The E51 looks like a direct replacement by Nokia for this phone too, so right now, it looks like good times if you are a seasoned Nokia user.
I will do a full lowdown of the 6500 Classic in a few days time - I have only just received it but am already incredibly impressed with it.
Don't bother with any other phone - who cares about a sub-standard 5MP camera or a clumsy, second-rate MP3 player? Get them as standalone devices if you want quality.
And if you want a phone that simply defines quality - then buy the Nokia 6500 Classic.

"A "3G" phone without a front camera is really a joke! There is no excuse for this ....why the other Nokia 3G models have front camera? ...maybe this is called "one of a kind"! lol. "
As I said earlier, most networks don't even support video calls, and if having a front camera really is that important, buy a 6500 slide or something else.

To those who want 3.2 megapix, Wifi, 2gb hardrive blah blah and blah then go get the thicker brick phones.
This phone was made thinner for people who want thinner, lighter phones with the right amount of functionality.
