They do come in all black the steel is black on the black one they are hard to find

Concept is good. But it could be best with wifi, symbian os and a processor.

Thats very weird James (switching back to default inspite of moving tones to ph.memory)
Ithe price of this phone is declining at such a fast rate :( If only I had RUSHED in to buy it just before new year :(
It's nothing almighty for the price is has to offer though , other than it's "business elegant not kiddish look"
the stainless steel is however prone to tiny scratches , nothing very noticeable but it's not scratchproof :P
The black phones does not look like it's got any steel on it :o.

I just bought the 6500s in black. It's an awesome, minimalist design and the S40 is perfect for those of us wanting a well-designed, feature-packed phone while lacking all the business-centric complexities.
Anyways, I think that I just fried it. It has some unexplained delays in sending/receiving SMSs. So I opted to update its software from 4.81 to 4.84 using the Nokia Software Updater.
It connected fine and recognized my phone. About 3-mins before completing the installation, the phone seems to power off and all its lights went out. Then my computer made the sounds that a USB device was plugged in or disconnected. Then the software indicated that the phone was disconnected!!!!
I took great pains to ensure that the phone never got disconnected, but something happened. And now the phone will not power on again!!! What can I do to fix this? Or is the phone fried?
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

when i bought the phone the man who sold it to me tell me all this things you said
he said that nokia did it in order to defend on the sim card(dont know why)
but i bought it anyway very good phone =)

Nice phone,had it a week except for the following.......
1. Taking the back off resets all the profiles to default even with ringtones saved to phone memory.
2. Turning the phone off and then back on resets my wallpaper everytime and sometimes profiles.
3. Sometimes with the phone set to silent I still randomly get a message alert tone even if its set to off.
Is anybody else experiancing the same problems? I had the 6233 before and was more than happy with it, so far nothing but dissapointed with this handset and tempted to call orange and get the sony K850i instead!

Ela, thanks so much for your help. I managed to get the silver one coz' that's what I wanted. I didn't want black as I've never seen it before so I'm fine with my silver.

That's right..
colour is BLACK only
another area is STEEL (no colour)
i.e. the BOX says colour: BLACK
no thanks

Mygirl, if its so urgent and you need to buy it right away, why dont you go for the silver/black. Not any different! Just colour! Thats all.. Its a good phone i must admit and personally i'd go for the colour i have black/silver rather than plain black.

@ louburger - simple... go into your settings, profile (select your profile), personalise, ringing tone, open gallery, (select where your mp3 is saved), choose your mp3 you'd like as your ringing tone then save it. Hope this helped!

Thanks Jack, much appreciated i shall try and save it to phone memory as you advised. But back cover wasnt taken off or unfitted properly in anyway, so still not sure what the problem may have been... THanks once again! :)

i just got one but have no idea how to use the mp3 songs i have uploaded as a ringtone. the old nokia ones arnt great so i was hoping it would be easy to use one of my tunes as a ringtone but i cant figure out how to do it and the manual apparently doesnt tell me
help?

Does anyone know if the 6500 comes in black? I went to the shop to buy it after seing it on this website. The dummy they have was silver and black, but the box in the shop is written color black. On the website they only state that it comes in silve. Please help as I need to get it ASAP. Is is also worth buying it? Please help I need to go and buy it now!!

@ Ela , this happens when u take off the backcover of the phone , u'll see a small metal 'piece' behind the backcover , this piece actually fits into the memory card cradle slot on the phone so u'll see when ur phone is on and you remove your back cover , the memory card wont show , you put the cover back on and Volla!
Apart from removing the backcover this can happen even if your backcover does not sit well on the back of the phone. sucky i know but well thats nokia for you.
However you can transfer all your ringtones/themes to phone memory so that the tones/themes Have nothing to do with the memory card.
Hope this is understood.
