To my knowledge s40 doesnt support office.
And this should apply for the 5th edition as well i reckon.
Some handsets have the keypad scratchind possibly due to 2 reasons.
1)Excessive force used to slide it up
2)The gap between the top(slide) and the base(keypad) is less causing friction between the two. Clearly this is a manufacturing defect which has affected quite a number of people out there. I suggest you just walk right to a Nokia Service Center and ask them for a replacement or ask them to resolve the issue right there..

@ E , when we mean delay we mean delay while answering a call using the "use slide to answer call" feature rather than hitting the "call" key without opening the slide to answer a call
So when you set the phone to answer calls by pushing up the slide the phone will still ring for 2-3 seconds before the call actually begins.
So when you slide it up towards you're ear u'll have it still ringing for 2-3 odd seconds.
I dont use the slide up to answer a call so I really dont care ;)

Guys,
I got this phone for my wife a few weeks ago and here are the comments;
1. No scratches on the keypad whatsoever, so I guess it's a mechanism problem, probably caused by the phone falling down or was hit hard.
2. Yes, there's a bit of a delay in the keypad, specially that my wife is a bit fast when using the phone and in SMS, but it's no so often. I still have the 4.80 firmware that came with it, I'll upgrade and see what happens.
3. The theme reset issue... My wife had a picture of our kids as a wallpaper, and another one as a screensaver. Whenever the phone falls or even slightly hit, both the wallpaper and screen saver return to the default.
After some quick troubleshooting, I figured out that the problem is because of the memore card, whenever the phone gets hit the memore card probably loses contact with the phone, which in turn resets the theme.
Solution: I put the wallpaper and the screensaver pictures on the phone memory and not the memore card, which worked out great so far.
We're using the ringtones that came with the phone, so if anyone's also getting the ringtone reset, put the music file on the phone memory as well.

Hi, i've just read over all the comments that other users have made. However i do not find them relevant to my 6500 slide. I have had it for a week now, and have not encounted any scratches on my phone or any other problems with it so far.. I do want to ask one question though that has got my attention, when some people mentioned the delay in answering their phones or whatever what were you exactly referring to? If someone can please fill me in i'd appreciate it. Thanking you in advance for your reply...

Yes there is a delay , However I have updated my phone to 4.84 .. no delay while answering with the slide anymore.
This particular problem has been resolved by f/w 4.84

I'm thinking of buying this mobile tomorrow...hey can any one tell me whether office applications can be installed on to this(incase if jar or sis file is available for office suite)...i mostly require word n power point presentations to be viewed on the mobile.. .thank u in advance

I need to say I bought it unlocked for 270 euros.I wouldn't have paid more for this mobile, lovely mobile, but heavy an not very good music player.With the extra I am buying an adaptor and better headphones to see if that helps.
Has anyone done this? Does that "really" improve the mp3 sound?

well, once updated, mine is working well.
battery is not that bad either,but then again I do not call much.
price in spain is 360-80 euros,with 256mb included now.

It also comes in full black version but i prefer the black and silver version the black version looks bad...

Jack made a comment about a switch on the behind the camera cover for memory card which would explain y the phone would revert to default settings.But when i remove back cover i only lose ring tone,message settings etc. i don't lose screensaver and wallpaper settings which are also on memory card only.could anyone explain why?
