I have difficulty in opening gmail in this phone. other sites like answers.com are working fine. Even yahoo mail and Yahoo Go are not working. Is there any setting to be changed ?

@RichBoy , Overall impressive phone .. though i think it's a bit over priced for what it has to offer really.. I have this handset now and Im guessing the only reason this is priced on the higher side for an s40 is because of a)3.2 carl zeiss camera b)stainless steel side/back cover"
It has a few software bugs , my phone displays a funky screen color once in a few days.. for maybe a second or two and the radio FM seems to hang while manual tuning.
My phone has not had any problem of keypad scratches.
The camera is nothing to write home about.
Interface is quick "COMPARED" to the n series.
Conclusion: Nice business lookin phone,decent camera,big buttons,tv output,2.5mm jack , but a much lower price would like give it a top knot.

Good day everyone. Im planning to buy a nokia 6500 slide. Is there a really problem about the slide which affect the keypad that resulting into scratch?.. and about the camera, sounds, speed etc.. any one can give me an idea.thanx..rbs

JP , you need to insert it right above the simcard slot....
And next time , please make an effort reading the manual!

i've bought a 4gb memory card for the nokia 6500 slide, but where is the memory card slot, as i can't find it?

In order to activate the night mode on your camera settings , you'll need to turn off the flash first.. then it should allow you to go ahead and enable night mode.

I bought this phone today and i have to say nokia realy impress me this time the speaker is very loud and clear and the display is also very good IM a fan of SE
but i have to say well done nokia

Had this phone since 29th Dec. Its looks great, voice quality sounds good. Loud speaker is good in quite conditions, not that fantastic if driving car unless you drive a luxury car. Alarm is awsome, haven't sleep in....so far.
Function keys are programable as well as navigations keys, lots of short cuts to different functions. Heavy yes but I'm getting use to it now. Didn't realise the scratchs on key pad untill I read this forum. I suspect its caused from people sliding the phone incorrectly. I suggest you don't open or shut while pressing down on the bottom black part of the phone(between green & red buttons). Use the black rubber strip between the word "NOKIA" and the screen.
Camera: nothing special, not the best for action shots because it needs time to auto focus on subject. Yes I also hear the click click click at the lens, it doesn't sound healthy.
But my biggest problem is battery life. Maxium Total Talk Time (All Calls) The best I could achieve in GSM mode was 3hrs before phone shut down. And 2hrs in UMTS mode b4 total shut down (NB Bluetooth off). My daily average Total Talk Time is about 2hrs. So every night I have to charge battery.

hi all i bought this phone 3 weeks ago il jst tell a few things agout it to help those that are looking at it.well it has a fast user interface which is good for those that want to get into things on there phone quickr ,nice slim stanles steel desing which looks better than plastic (and feels better to)mine came with a 256mb card which is ok(better than none)but im going to get a 2gb for it,ok the screen is nice and clear lots of preloaded content like games ring tones and stuff and has good featers, ok the bad things about this phone is slightly heaveir than plastic phones,and it dosnt suport mp4 which is a bumer and one problem with mine is the steel casing comes slightly over the side miner detail but still its not perfect and becouse its a slide the are jst that little bit more fragile but other than that i love it its a good phone good value for money good camera good mp3 player definetly worth the money

Man.....you guys ask the same freakin' questions that have been asked 100 times.
Do a Google search on the 6500 Slide. There are at least 6 big reviews that I know of. It will answer any question you have.

its a best phone. all says nokia batteries are not good . but i am gooing for one more nokia phone which is 6500 and my friend too.

Hi I was wondering how to determine where my Nokia 6500 was made? I looked under the battery cover, however all it says is MADE BY NOKIA. Where does it tell me where it was manufactured?

Yes , unfortunately each time u remove the back cover rather , your phone does not read the memory card .
This is because of the metal switch behind the carl zeiss lens which is welded on the backcover right behind the camera which acts like a switch for the memory card cradle. so when you take it off , the mc cradle loses connection with the switch and ndoes not read
Nokia should check this before releasing out handsets , i thought technology improves as the years go by , apparently NOT!

I thought there's a camera in front as I found out its just video call support cam ONLY!!!until now I still dont want to beleive that its true...I need a camera infront!too bad,
and when you remove the memory card and return it again all the settings is gone!you will need to set it up again especially the profile e.g (msg alert tone and ring tone)
DID YOU GUYS EXPERIENCE DID AS WELL?PLS LET ME KNOW ASAP
