Hi all
Well, i have the phone for a week now, and i have encountered NO problems at all, everything is working fine, no freezes, no hang ups, and not a single scratch on the keypad as some users say...
The phone is really solid, the slide mechanism is excellent, nothing is loose in it. The speaker is definitely louder than the Nokia 5610, i tried them both at the same time, and you can achieve the clarity in 6500 by adjusting the equalizer just below the maximum...
Wonderful screen, excellent colors, it might not have the best camera but still good enough for capturing very good images. The video recording with 640x480 resolution is very good, smooth enough with 15fps, and as Nokia posted in their website, you can have a 30fps with a lower resolutions.
I love this phone, and i really recommend it, just make sure you have the latest firmware (4.81) and everything will go as you wish.

well, each one of us having the same handset has a diff. opinion. In my case 2gb make it a bit slower,but it's ok for me....my friends seem to be very happy with their 4gb.On the other hand in some forums they say 4gb "collapse" the 6500 slider.

amethyst , thank you for your reply .. could you be kind enough to inquire with your friend whether the handset goes a bit slow with a "4gb microsdhc" card and which mc brand does he use ?

both 5610 and 6500 slide accept up to 4gb cards, I use 2gb but my friends use 4gb.You are welcome. But could you try and read posts of 6500 slider and 5610 before repeating the same question again?, thank you. Also, you can check nokia website for more detail

noone answering my question :( .. the 3rd time im making apost here! i want to know if i can buy a 4gb microsdhc card .. the site sasy its compatible but local stores say it hangs up the slide!

like the person below stated , the 5610 which i tried out for a while at the local store truly has a much louder loudspeaker... i would say it's like my n73 music edition.nothing mindblowing ... but louder than my 6500 slide.
Though I'd choose the 6500 slide anytime over the 5610 in terms of looks and materials used in the build.
Though I hear the 5610 has a great battery and a better 3.2 Camera... the 6500 comes with a lousy battery and the 3.2 carl zeiss is'nt the best 3.2 camera phone out there.
I'd say THE slide. but then it's yer money :)

I used to have a 5610, excellent music mobile!!! but sold it because the slider under the screen could became loose with time and I usually wear the mobile in my pocket.teh 6500 slider is more solid and resistant I think.
But the keypad I really miss , both music quality and keypad.

Got 3d full screen games like
Age of empires 2, Sonic the hedgehog, the fast and the furious and Many more. They work great. Get a free oxford dictionary and Bible (King James Version) into your mobile phone.

go 4 5610 it is just like 6500 with differnt design and with much much louder speaker
the 6500 has tv out and this is the only differnce btw them

ive been using nokia 6120c for about a month now. i was just searching in the net and i saw this phone. Gsmarena sez that the sound is louder than n81, n81 has 2 spekears. i an audiophile so wanted to buy a new phone. 6120 is customizable in every way, but it just got boring!! i was thinking of selling my phone and buying this.. 6120 is a nice phone, no doubt, just got awfully boring, cant send any themes or installers, all protected!!! can anybody tell me if this phone is worth buying for? whats qcif? (30fps sez nokia?) it sez here vga 15fps.. help me please!

Hi sometimes my 6500S will hang when a new SMS comes in... WHEN i am listening to the music player! the slider will gets abit loose after afew months though...

Did anyone out here TRY a SANDISK 4GB MICROSDHC card with this phonee ?? I need to know if it works .. I know it's Compatible according to Nokia.. but then again IT'S NOKIA we're talking abt .. psssh!

I ahve recently purchased the nokia 6500 slide. Very impressed. In response to the person who said when they were listening to music and they got a message and the phone "Hung" my phone stops the music for a short period of time, approx 0.5 seconds, and then continues to play the song. Perhaps update the software or get a replacement phone.
In regards to the camera question. What is wrong with the camera? the defualt camera view is landscape so you push the camera button down until it focuses, if it focuses correctly the box will go green, if it focuses incorrectly, it will go red. You may have to focus again if it goes red. Then push the botton all of the way down and the picture will be taken. Easy.
If you are reffering to the video call camera, you must be ringing someone with video call enabled and you may have to sign up to something. Im not quite sure how to operate the video call camera.

Hi, Can anyone help me with a faulty camera on my 6500 slide, all i get is a black screen for about 15seconds and then the camera goes into standby and if i press continue i get the black screen again and the cycle continues. Other than this issue the 6500 is a good phone in my opinion.
