1) Cannot get the PC suite to support the sync function, keep on getting errors...
2) Is there a setting which will cancel the actions when you close the slide, as I currently have to cancel it manually before i close the slide, else I cannot lock the phone...?
Can someone assist me, please

The 6500s is an xcellent fone.
My firmware is 4.81 dated NOV 2007. I do not hv any slide-call delay problem.
Yes, the camera sound can b switched off. Don't b a lazy S... go read the manual.
The rest of ur questions can b answeared by reading the instruction manual.
Don't b a LAZY S... don't xpect people here 2 spoon-feed U!

Is 6500 slide better than 5610 considering only sound both in speakers and earphones........

I bought the phone, 3 weeks down the line i had to send it to repairers coz it was going dead after switchin on. When it return, i was asked to enter password on my memory card. I went back to a dealer he advice me 2 take it to repairers again, cos we tried new memory card but it could not read it, i wonder whats next. keypads are already scratched, oh but i still love my phone, divine.

Well, i have one question: does the phone have the Light Effects under a specified profile menu? (i.e. phone flashes every 5 seconds when u have missed a call or a message has been received) I still dont have the phone but planning on buying it soon

I have two questions:
1) I've set up for some of my contacts their birthdays. What must I do in order to get notified by the phone on their birthdays ? ( It would be nice if it would be something like a task).
2) Can I search after the nick name of a contact ? From what I have seen you can search only after the first and the last name.
I think these are some small things, easy to implement, that can improve the functionality of the phone and it is hard for me to believe that Nokia did not implement them.
If someone could answer these questions it would be great.

Hi, had my 6500 slide few a few weeks and it is getting replaced. Ring tone defaults to nokia tone which is to quiet, keypad donsn't repsond properly, lights up whenever it feels like (strange). A friend got one a couple of weeks after me and is starting to do the same. Phone is nice as long as these issues can be resolved.

Just got this phone abt 1 weeks. i notice that my phone didnt support english-chinese simplified dictionary. all of my fren got this phone where it support dictionary. i have try to flash the product code but still cant works..haiz i really need somebody to help me out.the dictionary is located under the organiser application. i need urgent help. thanks. if u dont mind u can guide me through my email scy1987@hotmail.com

I have had this phone for about 5 weeks, 4 of which the phone was in for repair! I have had alot of trouble with it but I guess it as just my luck.
Over all this is a great phone, it does have software issues and there area few things that irritate me but I like it. I think the sound is pretty good, camera quality is nice and I think it has one of the bst slide actions ever to come from nokia.
If you have issues read through the opinions posted here, call nokia or speak to your service provider!

Ok.
I like the phone.
Been reading what people have been saying.
So Im asking these questions:.
1. When you have the 4gb Memory card in it, Does it make the phone go faster or slower?
2. People said there is a "camera at the front". Where is this located? I have looked at the phone in shops and online and don't see this function.
All I see is this black strip right at the top which im asuming is used for your ear when someone rings.

I'm really confused. I was thinking of buying Nokia 6500 slide or N76, but when I read all the comments about both phones, I was very surprised and really dunno what to buy!!! I've read very bad comments on both phones. Can anyone help? Currently, I have Nokia 6600. It's fine but I need an updated one with more functions. Help me to decide pls. Thanks.

MY phone's slider doesn't scratch the keypad. For those who want buy this phone, check if the one you're buying does it before you buy it.
Sorry but I don't understand Chinese so for those who are a little skeptical on the Chinese-Eng dictionary, please enquire about this from the person below me.
On the other hand, those who need to see how the English dictionary works, email me about it and I can show you a video. AND despite the fact that you have to enter the word LETTER BY LETTER, a list of words will show up below the entry field that is closest to the word you are looking for -- so it's pretty similar to predictive text.
The PEN KEY. It's also a physical feature kind of thing, if you had wanted a PEN KEY, why would you buy THIS phone? It wasn't there to begin with so it wouldn't be there after you buy it either. For those who are considering buying this phone, DON'T GET THIS PHONE, if NOT having a PEN KEY is a MAJOR disadvantage for you! For those who DON'T have a problem with not having a PEN KEY, but would still like to use copy and paste, YES, you can hightlight, copy and paste words and numbers in this phone. It's a bit cumbersome in that you have to click on options and select "mark" and then do the copy and pasting.
Oh and it is TRUE -- this phone does NOT have an automatically slide lock (phone locks when you slide it down), but there is a firmware update on it on the Nokia website (although there are some glitches with the updates so read up on it before you do it -- check out howardforums)
I don't have the two second problem answering problem. Don't know what to say about this.
Yes, the antenna is on the bottom of the phone. If you live in a place that catches little reception and you like to hold your phone from the BOTTOM, this phone is a bad choice.
Ringing default. Haven't had an issue, yet, will update if it happens.
I really don't think that this phone can be comparable to the N-series (including the N95, which I do NOT think is a dream phone; in fact, if I did, I would've bought it). The N95 runs on the Symbian OS, has wifi, GPS, a 5MP camera, and cost a whole lot more. If those are the features that you're looking for, this phone doens't have it. Honestly, the N-series is a Nokia luxury line and there are a lot of features that they pack into those phones (i.e. document viewer) that they will not pack into phones like the 6500 due to marketing. I've read through a lot of the Nokia phones on GSMarena and I've already realized that the document viewer feature are mostly available on the N-series.
As far as multitasking goes, this phone doesn't have it. I'm not going to debate on this matter any further.
This phone, like all phones, has its perks and its imperfections. Mentioning a disadvantage like the 2-second delay or the slider scratching the keypad is fine because those are issues that you wouldn't know about until you've used it so it's very important to let others know; but why mention a disadvantage that's already been said and noted in the specs and reviews? It doesn't have a doc viewer (read the specs, the doc viewer wasn't listed). It doesn't have a pen key or a C key(look at the pictures, it wasn't there to begin with). Oh and yes, it's an s40 phone, it's NOT symbian OS -- so don't consider this phone is you have a major problem with that.
