tanx alot i never said anything about aomparing.i just said currentley i'm using n95.
i loved 6500s from the first moment but when i was going to buy a fone it wasnt released yet. n95 is really nice fone.but considering that i cant work with lots of its functions in my country,i'll definitley go with 6500s
cuz 3.2 mp camera and vga 15fps video recording will do my job and also i need a fast stylish fone like 6500s. i just hope the screen resolution be cool like n95 even cooler cuz its smaller in size(2.2") and also the keypad be comfortable.

Just a standard Nokia phone with many bugs, only with metal case. Very funny how some people talk about it as the best phone in the world...Get real.

To all OWNERS of the 6500 - does this phone have a hands-free speaker (how is the quality?) and does it have voice commands? The nokia website isn't clear on this, so please help.

I agree its a nice phone but,
1) Cannot get java programmes to load and run.
2) Also have delay in answering when opening slide.
3)Also have Lockout problems.
4) Best lockout is when you try to manually tune the radio and type in a 2 digit frequency instead of a 3 digit ie 089 the two digit followed by an enter shuts the phone down instantly.
Of course neither O2 or Nokia are able to give an answer.
Why do we buy this junk?

can you use 3rd party headphones with a 2.5 jack or do you have to use the hs-47 headset that comes with the phone.i only ask because in one of the reviews they said that there own headphones did not work.can someone please clarify...cheers

First of all...you guys need to quit comparing the 6500 Slide to the N95. They are two entirely different phones. Of course the N95 is a better phone, so let's stop the nonsense.

Look....this is the absolute best S40 handset Nokia makes. PERIOD. There are tons of reviews floating around, you can Google them & find em.

I can get 3 days worth of use with moderate talking & texting. It has the build quality of the 8600 Luna but with much better features. It is a professional & classy looking phone. I think it the coolest phone ever made by Nokia.
The UI runs fast, the camera is great, the build is the best around.....what more do you guys want?
Everybody & their grandmother has the N95...if you wanna stand out, get the 6500 Slide.
The build on the N95 is inferior to the Slide. I love Nokia to death, but I am not a fan of how they build their N series phones. They could build em' like the 6500 Slide & no one could compete with their phones.

i have n95 for about 4months.i liked 6500 slide even before i get n95.but having the best fone in the world is some how boring after few months.u ask ur self that's it?that's the best of the best.but now i want to get 6500 slide.cuz it's the first fone i nokia made that is fashion like 8600 and functional some how like n series. but is it really worth buying? cuz i want a detailed review. and also with moderate usage how many days does it last??

You really don't know your facts, do you?
The camera is great. It is a 3.2MP camera with Carl Zeiss optics...not a 2MP camera. And of course the phone weighs a lot...it is made from stainless steel. It is a solid phone with a great slider function.
The pics turned out great. Perhaps your photography skills are lacking. See for your self, the pics are great!!

i have the nokia 6500s and to be honest i have to say this is possibly the best handset i have had the pleasure of owning. i work for a large mobile phone company in the uk and i can have any handset i so wish, but this phone choice is possibly the best i've made in my 11 years in the mobile phone industry. to anyone else out there wondering as to what phone to upgrade to or buy as a new phone then i would have to give the nokia 6500s a well deserved 10 out of 10

Its a great phone, I have the following issues:
1. Almost 2 second lag with the auto answer when slider is pushed up.
2. Sometimes the keypad doesnt seem to be responsive, twice I cant even unlock the keypad (unlock+*) and had to remove the battery! Also once I tried to dial a number but cant seem to be able to press the number zero, it feels pressed but simply wont register!!
3. Digital clock in the main display cannot be changed!!!

i've heard that the autofocus function can be a bit bad at times, is it possible to turn it off?

I used this phone for a few days. Very heavy and chunky. As heavy as N95 ! Disappointed with pics and video, very noisy. Better buy 6267 half price and much lighter. Camera only 2Mp, but not worse. Don't buy 6500S, you've been warned.

Yes you can setup ur settings, iso setup is set high, camera quality set high,than u can find good result

Dear Friends
I have recently bought this phone. I have a few issues about it, hope some of u can respond.
1) Its camera results are not good compared to N-73. Do I need to have some specific settings.
2) Does it show the image of the performer when we play a song in its music player. It happens in N-95. Do we also need some settings for that.
