Thats the point "slider".It's not easy to use that word.It's good you undrestand that's not perfect.
If you could choose something as "perfect" that would be N95

Why are you people even arguing over someone saying the phone is perfect? It's their opinion, go get a life.

The only thing I get is that there is no such thing as "perfect"
If a person doesn't utilize the features of an S60 or a smart-phone, than that phone is indeed not perfect for them. It's all about what you use the phone for.
You are stating that this phone is not perfect, when you need to be stating that this phone is not "perfect" for YOU!!
I also have a Nokia N75, and I can say with concise certainty that this phone isn't perfect. I have never, nor will I ever see a phone that has every feature I want. It's called compromise.
Point me out a "perfect" phone and I'll show you it's imperfections.
Don't get so worked up over a phone, you'll live longer.

Well, here in France, messg text is really used by all the person who have cell!
everybody use it but many few people know what is the push to talk!
So i really hope it's gonne come out in france because it seems to be great!
like you can talk with people for free!
and the nokia 6500 slide is supposed to come out here in france in September-October, not more!
I can't wait for this great phone, OK NOT PERFECT! lol

There were many people requesting for 5700,iPhone, but when they read reviews they gave up!

If you are looking for a speakerphone,wifi and smart phone,take a look at N80.
It can't be so slim like this with all that features!!
You should decide what you need?A music phone,business phone or media phone?
Wifi an OS is mostly inclouded in business phones,great camera in media phones and if you want a pretty slim one you have to pay the price!

I must say this is gonna be a best seller from Nokia, look at all the buzz on the forums every forum has 6+ pages of people that cant wait for this phone to be released.
God I hope its August and not November cause Im going crazy with anticipation!

Yeah push to talk is pretty much like walkie talkie and both phones need to have it, but I don't know y Nokia bother putting it in there European phones because no network supports that feature.
Its used extensively in America more so than txt messaging.

My friends told me that it's like i fell for it! lol

Oh and , by the way...
I live in Marseille(france) and the push to talk doesn't work here!
So i don't know exactely what it is:
I guess it's like talkie-walki, no?
but just with someone who's got the same phone , no?

Actually, i do thing it is a very good phone too... no wifi but a lot of good things else!
You know, the n95 by nokia could be good for you!
It's got all this phone has plus the wifi and gps!
i think some other things too.

Why such low marks for this phone? It isn't a smartphone, so stop treating it like it is. It has plenty of good things about it to warrant higher ratings. Stop the hating.

Hey Marvin....
This phone will be Nokia's flagship S40 phone. Meaning it will be their best and most feature packed S40 phone. The 3.2MP Carl Zeiss camera is outstanding, the materials are superb, 16 million res. and it will have 3G, push to talk, and an FM radio.
That is a lot of phone for being so small. If you don't need all the apps of an S60 phone, then you really can't go wrong with this phone. Although, I too wish WiFi would have been included. We'll see maybe in the future.
I really can't stop talking about this phone....I feel like such a GEEK!!....LOL

Of course i know this phone is not perfect but to me, it is a very good phone!

Enticing Spec... but i would like to request for Wifi for this non os fon. Since it can already browse the internet, plus its cheaper access to information(a plus point not to be taken lightly). That would be an achievable chellange for this segment of market right Nokia...

@keita the n80 and 6500 slide dont share anything in common besides they are both nokias and sliders.
The N80 had no spring in the slide the 6500 slide does.

just a piece of advise! before buying this phone try to see the hardware of n80 and its slide mechanism since both are somewhat metallic and their keypads are also identical ^_^

Whether subjective or objective you can only consider something as "PERFECT" when it's more advanced -got better features- than it's predecessors or at least is in the same rank unless such thing has not been created yet or you don't know the meaning of the word!
To be more exact all concepts of an object is objective and all those refer to a subject -like god- is totally subjective...

The word "PERFECT", is so subjective. What one phone qualifies as "PERFECT" to one person, may not hold true to the other. For me this phones is indeed perfect.
I prefer phones with modest features, but I emphasize more on the look and feel of the phone. I love slider phones, and I have been waiting for some time for a phone of this caliber to be released. Is it the best phone out there?...Of course not. It all depends on what floats your boat. Some ppl. prefer candy bars, some flip phone & some sliders.
I do think Nokia has done an outstanding job on this phone, and I used to be somewhat anti-Nokia until I got the N75 & now this phone seems to draw me ever closer to a Nokia fan once again.

Hey Marvin....
I personally think 1GB is plenty of storage. It is enough to hold at least 100 MP3's and many other wallpapers, themes, and screen savers. Since it isn't a series 60 phone, you won't have the same features as a S60 phone and probably not need a SD card.
BUT...if you do, this lovely little phone is capable of holding up to a 4GB memory card~!!!.
That is a ton of memory. It all depends on what you wanna use the phone for. I have never needed more than 1GB of memory...even on my current Nokia N75 phone.

How you can call this "PERFECT"?
For sure many functionarities of previous released phones like speaker phone,sound enhancements,60s OS and alot more has been blocked for this one, just to release a slim pricy slider phone!
Open your eyes to the truth ppl...
