We share the same problem. My Nokia 6610i is working with calls nad messaging. I am happy with it not until finding its infrared sending and receiving capabilities as NOT working.
I can the InfraRED ON. It shows in the status bar but i cant send and recieve pictures thru IR. help anyone?

" I am using this phone for a almost 5 years now, there's really nothing more i could wish for, - I do love doing group messages for quotes and updates and such stuffs like that so I'm thankful for the distribution list feature, I get to download java games (way back when I still have the access to wap for free- toinks!), I can do picture editings, but for one thing, - infrared isn't working or doesn't really work. everytime I try to send an mms via infrared, I just can't. is it an add up application or system to use or for nothing? "

Great phone my friend sold it to me for only rs 500!!! with new Japanese Battery Genuine casing and Genuine Hands free of Nokia and i am very very happy its not even opened and with all of its box and great phone etc!!!

gagan, 14 Sep 2009hi iam using this phone for the last 2 months and i sho... moremr gagan... get a new battery. it should be less than 100 for without warranty and maybe a 150rs for a 6 months warranty battery.. and shud be higher for original.. the 6months warranty battery shud suffice... try one.. its a sure good phone.. maybe the one you have purchased has some trouble.. since you have only been using for a few months, i assume you purchased it second hand. and since it is old it had problems... when people grow old, they have sickness and all.. does not mean they are chutiya... whatever negativity that means.. its the same way with all things... but in case of material things we have choices, so in first place you shouldnt have purchased this. alas! get a new one. :)

I like this phone very much.I am using this phone from 2005 and the call duration is 1224hrs then to any problem with the phone so i am lovin it.

I'm using this since jun-2005. Still i'm using this. I did not face any kind of problems. Really superb phone for me. Slowly it is showing some bateery issue.

I used this phone in 2005- 06. This was basic camera and FM radio phone. It was a good phone at that time. I was using this phone till recently, but unfortunately, it was stolen from my home.
