Hi, im from the philippines. I am just quite curious about the the quickoffice, that is installed in the phone. Will it be able to support files from the Microsoft Office 2003? Can it be opened through transfering the file from the computer into the rs-MMC? Lastly, which would you recommend purchasing, the 6630 or the upcoming 3230, its really quite hard. Thanks a lot! ü

i have done more tests of the phone. findings:

the problem i have, with saving files from "messaging" to "gallery", the process of which stalls forever, has nothing to do with bluetooth. i sent an MMS to myself and the process of saving the picture from "messaging" to either the phone memory or card memory still stalls.

it's fine to save images and mp3 and vidoe clips from the 3G browser to the memory.

i gather there's a bug between the "messaging" program and the "gallery".

i bought the phone the first day it's available in hong kong, right b4 xmas.

            the version info:
            V 3.45.110
            02-12-04
            RM-1

i encounter problems with saving files recieved via bluetooth.

a file received via bluetooth are kept in the inbox as an incoming message. as i open it, i can read the file, an image or an mp3 file.

but when i try to save it to either phone memory or card memory, the process stalls. it never stops itself. the longest time i let it go is 30 minutes.

interestingly if i leave it there (without exit), get back to the menu to open the gallery program to open any image or video clip, and then reenter the mail program, the process immediately gets completed.

nokia and my service provider here in hong kong cannot fix the programe and they give us a new phone replacement yesterday.

they test the phone with me and it saved files received via bluetooth perfectly. i thought the problem had gone. but it's not the end.

hours ago, i found the same problem returned. not only with the files i newly sent to the phone via bluetooth. but also with the files still in the inbox which were successfully tested. i was unable to re-save them like they were smoothfully saved when the phone was tested.

thus it seems something i did to the phone may have trigger some bugs.

            what i did:
            - customising different profiles
            - setting language, time, and things like that
            - writng and sending SMS
            - downloading and saving files from my 3G service provider (these files are always saved fine)

i dont think it's the problem with the memory card. as i have tried going through the file-saving process without the memory card, i.e. saving the file to the phone memory, but the process still stalls.

any idea fo comments from friends here?

            tks a lot, indeed.

                Issue of 6630:
1st issue, the palette colour isn't changing. 2nd issue -low RAM. 3rd, the phone resets once in a while.....1. The light sensor was perhaps a bad idea - the screen sometimes just loses the intensity ....at the wrong time ....and sometimes its unecessarrily bright.

                2. Nokia should have have darkened the keypad markings a bit more ....it already looks like its faded - despite this not being the case.

                3. Obvious thing is the low ram and only 64mb RSMMC currently available coz of that DV thing .....

I agree with "mrdjape" (Unknown, 2004-12-28 21:04:56). He is absolutely right. They are just playing with the pockets of the buyers.

I have read many many opinions regarding the 6630 before I purchased on December 23rd. I have read complaint, reviews that are coloured by owners previous phones and I have read warnings against buying because a new model with 2 cameras might appear in January. Not once have I read that the 6630 is an excellent phone. That's what is is, a mobile phone. And the extras are wonderful. The camera, the video recording time, the Symbian interface (I still can't install applications but I love trying) and overall it is a very pleasing phone. Yes, Phone! And as a phone, it works brilliantly. Oh tes, there is another thing, the mmc is a reduced voltage small mmc and there are no 512 or higher cards available to buy as of today. Those of you who say there are, are incorrect.
So stop picking faults with the extras on the machine and consider that it is a phone that does so many other things really well. If it were perfect, we would all get bored withit really soon.

I wonder how did Nokia design the phone as an 3G phone cos most 3G phones have either 2 cameras or at least a rotating camera.

It makes me wonder if it was actually a real3G phone. Or did they just modify the circuit board a bit and release it as a so called 3G phone.I would say it is a 2.75G phone
