I have been using this phone for almost 2 years, as reported by many, I do had the same charging port issue. Then I got it repaired. The front and back glass are very fragile. My screen got broken from the edge, I did have a tempered glass protection but still the glass got broke. Now my phone restarts automatically when it rings.

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2020Charging port issue after about a year. Clean the port. It'll be as good as new. My Nokia 6.1 (not plus) stopped detecting charger.
So just use tooth pick or common pin whatever is thin enough to reach the sides and clean the port just don't let metal touch connectors. Remove the debris around and try charging again.
With time, dust and debris in the port increase and doesn't let charger to fit properly with connectors.

Bought this phone new a couple of weeks ago (Oct 2020) from Mustafa Centre, Singapore. Model TA-1116. Was specifically looking for an Android One device.
My previous Mi A2 lite had its screen smashed when it was accidentally dropped and landed on the edge of a staircase at work. Shattered glass was mostly intact with some fine sharp fragments and shards coming away. Didn't have tempered glass on it when it broke. Mi A2 lite glass is really sharp when broken, had to replace it immediately with a Nokia 4.2 because I needed a phone for work.
Anyway back to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, I bought it to replace the Nokia 4.2 (which becomes my spare phone). I know it's not the latest model but it's an excellent phone for its price. Read the reviews on the potentially problematic USB C port, searched online in my area for magnetic charging cable, got myself two Baseus Zinc magnetic USB C cables that also supports data transmission. Initially wanted a Ugreen magnetic charging and data cable but couldn't find one locally (had to ship in from overseas).
So far everything is great. Been updated several times since I got it, now running Android 10 and Sep 2020 security update. Using Google Camera (7.2.011.276470382) sideloaded from apkmirror, much better than the stock camera. If you find a good deal for this phone and don't mind the fact that it's not the latest, I recommend it. To be safe, get a magnetic charging/data cable to avoid repeated insertion and removal of the cable that would make the connector become faulty. Lesson learned, I now have a tempered glass screen protector on this phone as additional safeguard against screen shattering. This phone has Gorilla Glass 3 as well, compared to my Mi A2 Lite which definitely has no Gorilla Glass whatsoever looking at how sharp the glass was when it shattered.

Do not buy this phone. In the warranty period i had to change the charging port, it was replaced free of cost then after 1.5yrs my motherboard got fried. Could not be fixed now. I had so much trust in Nokia, now i do not trust this brand anymore.

this is a good phone with performance. I have been using this one for almost 2 years. However, the charging port issue is the biggest problem.as a solution
1.you can clean the charging port more frequently.
2. if you are new buyer use a more flexible charging cable than the original one came with the box
3. always place the phone and some extend of cable horizontally; no hanging cable.
I hope this will be helpful in the long run.
