MOVE OVER MEDIOCRES!!!! THESE IS THE REAL THING!!
Im in Manila Philippines. Acually the P900 is what I want but i got a 7610 for P27,000! the P900 is around P40,0000 yuck. a second hand would be around P33,000. In short, im short in budget so I got a 7610 instead. Let me enumerate the Pros and Cons.
PROS
-very crisp screen! the best one yet. It can portray themes with better colors than the 6600
-ok the S700 has a better camera but still 7610 is 2nd to it
-very elegant design woohoo!
-small Series60 phone! handy on the pocket!
-The keypad layout is convenient! its not hard to use at all. =)
-faster system! unlike 6600 very slow!
-very good camera hard drive! more efficient and clearer than the 6600. the pictures are more filtered!
-great reception!
CONS
-ok its like a smaller 6600 w a 1mp camera!
-the images taken with the basic quality consumes large amount of memory! a picture in basic quality would be around 45kb compared to a 6600 or 7650 or 3650 it would only be around 18kb
-mono sound! yuck! it sounds like a cheap radio transistor! unlike the P800/P900 and K700 it has a very very very good speaker. which makes the mp3 player useless!
-video recording is crappy but clearer than a 6600.
-the keypad is making click sounds when u press them! unlike the 6600. irritating!
-the lens at the back is protruding! it doesnt have any protection whatsoever! prone to scratches!
there you go guys. the truth about the nokia 7610. ill be waiting for the 6630 omigod it has a video call and a 1.3 camera and im sure it will be far more better than anything!! P900 is a hassle to use! hey if u have FRIENDSTER you can add me at success@globextm.com.ph

This is by far the best phone I have ever owned. The features are incredible - The functionality is simply amazing. The camera quality could be a little better - Dandy is right - it is only a CMOS VGA camera as opposed to the S700's CCD Camera. That, however, is really the only advantage of the S700 over the 7610. As far as Sony's 262K screens - they are pretty comparable to Innostream's 262Ks (which look more like 65K screens). Truth be told - the 7610's screen actually looks just like the Innostream Inno 90's screen in a side-by-side comparison. In fact, the 7610's screen is actually brighter.
Bluetooth comes standard with the 7610 -IR is unimportant because it is being phased out anyway (BT IS the new standard - they are implementing it into computers, printers, and even automobiles now). If you're still using IR with your computer - do yourself a favor and invest in a USB BT dongle (about $30 USD).
The 7610 also keeps up Nokia's history of having the most phenomenal RF (I get reception in places that used to be dead spots for me). As everyone knows, Sony's mobile phones are notorious for having VERY POOR RF. This has been my experience with the older and newer models (including the K700i).
Besides these differences is the obvious advantage of the 7610 over the S700 which is SERIES 60 technology - Symbian OS 7.0s. No other phones are NEARLY as functional and adaptable as Seriec 60 phones. This is actually why the price is so much higher for this phone than some of its lesser counterparts.
Bottom Line - The Nokia 7610 has a beautiful screen - Excellent RF - Series 60 Functionality - and an Edgy Design. If you are looking for an excellent OVERALL phone - go with the 7610. If you're looking to use your phone only for pictures - get the S700 (but good luck trying to make calls in low signal areas...)

Scooby you prick how can you even compare that shitty 6230 to my beloved 7610 eh? it does not have more features cause the 7610 is a smartphone with the Symbian operating system on it whilr the 6230 has a plain old Nokia shit, anyway these two phones are not even in the same league don't you dare compare!

Hi, I have just purchase a 7610 Black, I like the looks, but there are a few setbacks e.g when playing mp3 it skips a bit and moreover mono sound (dont have headset yet)and the themes are not that impressive. By the way does anybody know a good site for me to download some themes?? Thanks

When i wanted to upgrade from a N6100, it was between N6230 and N7610. In the end i chose the N6230 cos it has more features den the N7610. There were 2 main reasons actually: price and FM radio. Size wasn't a big deal but for a phone bigger and heavier den the N6230, the N7610 really lacks a FM radio. And it costs SGD 300 more den the N6230 so i felt it wasn't worth it. Otherwise i love the design which was unique but not weird like the upcoming N7260. Another plus point is the 1 megapixel camera although Siemens S65 has a 1.3 megapixel cam. I nv like Siemens as its resale/trade-in value in sg drops like hmm.. a bomb... haha. Anyway cheers to N7610!

Siemens SX1 will have all the function that we need and better function than nokia 7610.
For your knowledge,it has;
1)All connectivity media include infrared.
2)Radio
3)MP3 player with stereo unlike 7610 mono sound without bass and etc.
4)External mmc slot,insert or take out can easily done.
5)Unlimited video recording.
Hope nokia can done better handphone in the future.

I don't know what going on,actually on Nokia handphone.Everytime if got a function it will also lose a function.Eg. This phone no radio,no infrared but got mp3 and cost a bomb.N6600 got infrared but no mp3 player.N7260 got radio,got infrared but no mmc slot.
It think siemens sx1 will have all the function compare to nokia.

This is Nokia's best and probably the best looking phone on the markwt, shame I can't say the same for Nokia's other phones e.g. 6230!

after thinking to buy which phonne, the nokia 7610 and se k700, i've came to the conclusion that the 7610 is the better phone...better camera, better design n better expansion capabilities...i like the se k700's design n feature initially but the more i look, the more i dislike its "coffin shape" n thick build...i think the nokia 7610 is the BEST -LOOKING phone on the market today...also sony ericssons phones suffer problems, even the k700...(eg hang, restart)...i have used both se n nokia in the past n , unlike sony ericcson, nokia's phone have not give me A SINGLE PROBLEM at all!!

Sony Ericsson sucks!!! Nokia rules! The 7610 is sent from the heaven while SE's K700 owners are going through hell with their bug ridden phone!

Mr Nokia. I dispute your claim that the 7610 is the best phone. I shall say the SE S700/710i is by far a much better phone. SE uses CCD lenses, which is the lenses used on digital cameras. 7610 uses a VGA camera which has been enhanced to generate image quality of 1 megapixel. The casing is poor and plastic and the layout of keys is unergonomical and impractical. The features in camera is poor in comparsion to the S700. S700 also has a speaker not a loudspeaker like the 7610 which is basically just your earpiece on loud. The screen is of poorer quality only 65k compared to S700's 256K screen. Screen size is smaller. The S700 also has an integrated FM Radio, bluetooth and infrared. I believe all phones should maintain the use of infra-red to enable connections with older electronic products possible.
The 7610 again was released early in anticipation of the S700 and only those stupid enough and gulible enough to believe Nokia marketing campaigns have gone out to buy one.
