Well I don't have any issues with my battery as at now since 2018. The quick charge enables me to spend little time on charging.

yu, 02 Feb 2020Hey guys. An update is now available. I am just curious if ... moreUnfortunately, no. The update is the January security patch. The battery issue is due to the degration of Li-ion battery which results in a decrease of peak voltage of the battery which can be defined as a hardware defect. If your device restarts randomly or when you open camera or play a heavy game, that means the battery can't keep up with the processor. HMD can TEMPORARILY fix the issue by throttling the defective device like Apple does to their old devices. But the REAL SOLUTION would be REPLACING the battery.

Hey guys. An update is now available. I am just curious if updates can fix the battery issue? Like putting limits orvso whatever just to not push the battery too hard. I just noticed that this battery/restart issue occur at the same time after the last update.

hehe, 29 Jan 2020It's sad that even though that it has flagship spec, all yo... moreWell, the phone can definitely handle heavy demanding tasks with ease. It's my usage pattern where I don't have demanding apps on my Nokia 8.
Bought this Nokia in 2018 when my S7 edge's display got shattered due to a drop. Then i used the device as my main phone for about 16 months. Used the phone a lot, played games like pubg, mc5 and etc.
Then after buying a Galaxy S10, I didn't need to use demanding apps on the Nokia.
But the real reason behind my battery health still being good must be the fact that I only charge my devices to 75-80% max. Accubatery claims charging only to 80% will increase the lifespan of a regular Li ion battry by 400%.
I've been trying to tell this within this forum multiple times. But seems like no one really cared LOL

So what does this "cooling pipes they say" for? A flagship specs phone but can olny do light tasks, that's dreadful.

The battery degradation issue must be due to the use of some lower quality batteries.
But personally,
I've never faced any issues yet, my battery health is still at 90%. Now it's been almost 2 years since i started using this Nokia 8.
As a reference, my iphone 7 is just 1 year old and it's battery health is at 90%. So in my case, Nokia 8 has a better quality battery than my iphone.
Software-wise, Nokia 8 should've recieved a camera update which HMD said they're working on, but never came out. But the Google Camera takes excellent shots with this hardware.

The only issue with that one is the struggle running games, but somehow playable. While this nokia 8 i can play anything but only last about 6 months. Is that how flagship phone should be? HMD better work harder with their phones not just physical durability but in their hardware/softwares too.

Except that, nothing to worry about. If you face any random restart issue or speaker sound problems, go ahead and replace the battery. Don't replace the motherboard as some stupid repair shops say.
