The phone is a good quality phone but has longevity issues. Once you've used it for a year, it starts restarting on its own and the speaker starts breaking. You need to be using earphones most of the time. So, don't buy this phone unless you know you won't use it for more than a year.

At this moment Android 8 has been left out of the Android 10 roadmap - since it launched with an older Android

I hope that the phone supports Nokia 8 Android system version 10

Hey, did any of you with "an always restarting phone" try hsing the phone while connected to a charger? Does it still restart? If not, your battery is the problem. Just replace the battery, and you should be good to go.

Degrading batteries are pretty normal, since every Li-ion battery degrades over time. Remember, Apple slows down their phones to avoid random restarts due to degraded batteries.

The best phone. It now has a unique feature that restarts the phone whenever you open an app. The start up tone actuay records in my head as it often restart. That tone calms my mind that I nearly throw the phone. I totaly dont regret buying this phone, I dont regret selling my phone and buying this one. SD 835 and its cooling pipes is too good, works well with high intensive games that makes you're phone so hot. I can play and iron my clothes at the same time. Mom is not angry whenever I play games.

As much as I like Nokia, I absolutely don't recommend it. DON'T buy it!
At first i had a problem with the network, when it was connecting to mobile data, the network kept connecting and disconnecting. After a lot of time sent on chatting with their support, i had to send it to them and they send the motherboard. It was in warranty so no expenses on my side, if you don't take into account all the time without a phone, and all the frustration.
Now, i have anther of them issues that are HW based, it starts blinking, and after a while, half of the screen shows glitches (random colored pixels), then it has moments when nothing lights up in the screen. I can barely use it. The warranty on it expired, and the nokia support is ignoring me right not, they don't even bother answering me. At first they made me uninstall a ton of apps, then run the device on safe mode, then factory reset.... all on my time, and all just not to admit it's they device that has hw issues.

So, as much as i was a fan of Nokia... Nokia just died! Don't buy it!

Phone ended up being a disappointment after 16 months, the constant rebooting issue and lack of concern from Nokia after so many repeated cases. The service center suggests a replacement for the mother board.

Anonymous, 08 Nov 2019I loved this set so much and had much pride in owning it. ... moreSeems like HMD has used sub par quality batteries inside the Nokia 8 devices. My personal device is about a 20 months old now. Used it as the main smartphone for about a year. Still using it, but not heavy usage.

According to Accubattery, my device is at 91% battery health. So still the battery is able to power any power hungry task without any problems. (MEANS MY DEVICE STILL WORKS LIKE A CHARM)

But many complaints here are about random restarts which is most likely due to excessive wear of the battery.

The difference between mine and these faulty devices might well be the lack of knowledge about Li-ion battery tech. YOU SHOULDN'T FULLY CHARGE OR DISCHARGE YOUR PHONE BATTERY on a daily basis.
