I just don't know wat all these anti nokia fans want? They need a phone to work and be very fast like a super computer, they need a phone to b like a computer game console which is either sony PSP or PSvita, they need a phone to take pictures like Nikon or canon or sony high definition cameras and last but not the least with all these features and demands, they still want the phone battery to act like a gas turbine. Why? Look and listen anti nokia, a phone will always be a phone no matter how many processors it has, besides these days android phones are no more phones again bcuz they av turned to somtin else, they can't fit into ones pocket, for example samsung note and galaxy, those phones are tablet cuz it just can't fit into any normal pocket. Atleast 4 inch is enough for a phone, close to 5 inch or 5 inch should be for games then 5 plus to 7inch should be a tablet computer, we don't need cores upon cores upon cores cuz we are nokiamaniac, wat we just need are more apps for nokia and we r on top. I don't want to be part of the stupid android war, samsung competing badly with HTC, HTC competing with LG, sony fight wit motorola, Iphone suing samsung, samsung suing Iphone, men as for me am not ready for dat mobile world war. The only different operating system in the world dat are standing wit OS, is Iphone OS and Nokia symbian OS, so I tink these 2 company deserve maximum respect. As for me i need a phone for calls, 1 or maximum 2 hours browsing, good camera and video capability and good multimedia features, 2,3 or maximum 4 to 5 HD games and 1 or 2 java games and am done, anytin apart from these tins dat means i av to get d individual best gadgets of those features, which is Nokia 3310 as a good phone, canon or nikon as a good camera, sony PSP or PSvita as a game console, then an Ipod as a multimedia player with a core i7 dual core with 4gb ram and 500gb hard disk laptop as a super computer. Finish than to look for all these features in on small less than a 4inch device or gadget. Pls folks we need not to be biased. Pls try and be real, call a spade a spade. Don't try to win souls for any operating system via a medium like this, do it at home or at work or school. Stop yabbing other operating systems if u are not using those operating system cuz one day u might be tempted to change ur mind but by den who will be d fool? Tink well and act well, nobody unknown to u has eva asked or begged u to buy any phone for them. In all am a die hard nokiamaniac and a addicted symbiatic. I av neva complain of my phone, no gadget nor phone is perfect, u can't get a perfect phone, not now and never until God comes, so know dat. Anyway am waiting for my Nokia 808 in Nigeria, posting this piece from my faithful N8. Nokia 808 I dey wait o.

Hi friends, I just got Nokia 808 in Pakistan for 54,000 PKR. I used its camera for two hours. Obviously its super interms of imaging and video. I got amazing results....i dont want to mention in detail because every one believes with the bottom of heart that vocabulary does not esist that how to praise its camera.. My question to all mobile manufacturers is that " HOW THE NOKIA GOT SUPER AMAZING 1080P RESULT WITHOUT DUAL CORE" this is techonoly , this is innovation.... no question....

I'm from India, ready to buy it. But postponed for price release, it's too high (RS. 34000 approx), I expect price should be drop down to 28K-30K in couple of months.

World doesn't need quad core processors! Sony Xperia Acro S should be the maximum speed, 1.5GHz and Adreno 220, it can run ALL GODDAMN APPS, who needs more?! And really, all screen sizes above 4.3" are pointlessly, uncomfortably big and require insane screen resolutions to stay.

Geo, 13 Jun 2012When you are a loyalist you get to see your side. If at all... moreRefer to the N9. That is the newer generation of the Maemo platform. It was successful, but it was Nokia itself that limited its release. Answering your point, it WAS successful and had so much potential, but then Nokia decided to pull the plug on it, and they also did not release it everywhere.

AnonD-58494, 13 Jun 2012because your samsung, etc. do not know how to optimize thei... moreAm not sure that i quite follow your thoughts. Multi core processors supposedly raise the cost of android phones! Nokia has a bad record of offering handsets that are beyond reach for most, compare with the cheap androids around.
You argue that Nokia have optimized their core use very well not like android. Did you forget that the Iphone 4s run a dual-core the cortex A9. That means apple don't know how to utilize fully their resources? I don't think so.

AnonD-48819, 13 Jun 2012What do you know about legacy of mobile OSs? I must say, NO... moreWhen you are a loyalist you get to see your side. If at all android is a copy of maemo, you would expect maemo to be doing great out in the market. Then it seems that the maemo developers either slept on the job or stopped being innovative and let the 'copy and paste' guys at google off on a winning spree. Innovation and advancement are key in the battle of OSes.

My first phone was a motorolla v2088 way back in 98-99. Ever since then, I have been using Nokia having gone through various models over the year, my personal favourite being the ultra small 8250 (when compared to other handsets in vogue back in the early 2000's. My last Nokia phone was an E72 which i purchased for around 17K INR almost a couple of years ago. The set lasted for exactly over a year (just enuf to void the warranty). Despite being e slick looker with decent hardware, it's motherboard supposedly gave away. I went through 3 nokia service centres (each worse than the other) in kolkata before the last one identified the root cause correctly. A replacement motherboard would cost 7k, as per them. And bear in mind that I am a careful user, don't talk as much on the phone, don't play games on it and always make sure that my phone is secure and dry when i get out in the rain.
So my marriage with nokia has finally ended and the e72 lies quiet and silent in a dark deep corner of my room. I have promised to stay off anything even slightly resembling Nokia in future.
As a caveat, a friend of mine purchased the same nokia model on the same day that i did. Though his is still running condition, it barely manages to walk (despite regular firmware upgrades and memory purges).

We both finally switched to a different brand a month back.

                                  So in conclusion:
                                  1. Go for apple if you can afford it.
                                  2. Go for any decent android phone if it has decent hardware and at least gingerbread and decent screen (S2/S3 if you can afford it) or even Galaxy Ace or some recent decent android phones from Sony/Ericcson/Motorolla.
3.Blackberry (if you can do without touchphones, can pay for additional BB services like BBM or social networking/general browsing, apart from your wireless carrier costs- airtel/voda etc)

If you value your hard earned money, stay away from Nokia. They've had a dream run in India for the last 10 years with their cheaper but more robust, common man friendly mobiles. These sets are sadly passe now and their new ones don't cut it in terms of reliability.

                                  I end my rant.

                                  Thanks.
