AnonD-44031, 13 Mar 2012Nice overview of the OSes there. Though I have to disagree ... moreYup S^3 has a pretty good codecs. Tried to watch an episode of Spartacus using my Xbox but it cant read the .avi file format, so i ended up plugging my n8 to the TV via HDMI and watched it there.
it can also support .srt/subs and .mkv but i havent tried the mkv.

Im talking about hacking the device to have privilege rights to access system files. System files to alter OS related stuff. Both Android and Symbian can be 'hacked'. But for some Android, you need to hack it to get access to its FM Radio which is a wtf moment tbh... Is that a clearer example?

I can easily state that this beats the majority of digital still cameras and many DSLR's. Unbelievable camera and you can also use it a a smartphone. Great idea made into reality. Well done all involved.
I don't care about the operating system, all the apps I use are available on this phone.
I tried it in Barcelona... but where/when can I buy it?

and if you want a higher dpi get the Nokia E6 it has a higher dpi than the iphone4s

This was not supposed to compete against DSLRs. Even Nokia did not say anything about competing against DSLRs. They have a different reason why they used a 41MP sensor here.
Also, I think only high-end compact cameras can match the quality of the photos that this phone takes. Honestly, I don't like carrying too many gadgets at a time. If this is an excellent phone, multimedia device, camera and video recorder, then this is what I am going to need most of the time.
You can't honestly think that you will be bringing a DSLR with you every time. Bring it only when you really need it. For those that don't need a DSLR to capture, the camera on this phone will definitely suit your need.
And one more thing, taking photos is not the only thing it does. This is a multimedia device. It can do more than what a DSLR can do. Bring something like this with you every time. And when you are going to an occasion or event that really needs a dedicated device, then bring it. This phone will definitely replace your compact P&S camera. Take a look at the full-res samples. They look beautiful even at a low quality setting. If you won't need 38/34MP photos, resample them to a lower resolution. You will find the image quality to be very beautiful.

The newer Symbian OSes have excellent codecs comparable, or even better than the ones on Android. As for iOS, yes you could get rid of some restrictions, but the not most. It still won't support side-loading and the bluetooth is still too restrictive even after a jailbreak.

think about it, its a tiny sensor, wich two meggapixels would no change the quility, only if you made the sensor bigger,

Hi friends ths is the one and only big efforts in nokia and for this model became a king of the ring in market but you compare to any other brands like mobile are tablets and camera this is the only one model is beat the market.the nokia dream is every customer is precious to them and allways nokia connecting people with the consumers and this is the 5years dream....so know it's going to lunch the nokia 808pure view.it's a great challenge to other brands......

all too god on the paper but is it worth it?if u want such a good camera and if u r too particular in taking good photos and concerned with the resolution, go buy a good digital camera instead.For the price of this phone , i think we could get an entry level DSLR. A camera is a camera and a mobile phone is a mobile phone.However hard u try you can't match the power and performance of a device that is dedicated fo the purticular purpose. Oh.. for bragging rights, its ok....

Who carries a psp for gaming , a ipod for music, a phone for calls , and a tablet for internet,and a camera for pics,and a camcorder for video. There are alot of phones that do all of this.. If you think nokia is the only one with a phone that has great a video cam your crazy. 41mp is good but its a phone first......just remember its a phone first.

If you like beautiful pics and videos,buy a Nokia N95.
If you like playing games that are PS2-like,buy an N95.
If you hate these touchscreen trends(android, wp7,belle) buy an N95.
You'll be satisfied in every point.

Else, I like phones that ALWAYS work and have enough battery life to support all their base features, let alone extras and nothing but Nokia can do all that today. Nokia running SYMBIAN.
