no matter how you look at it. this phone will always be a luxury so dont ever compare it to other plastic phone because this phone is made of GOLD! oh and VERTU is also a luxury phone.

there is a big difference between luxury and needs
if you have the money, and if you know you are rich then buy this phone
if you are a normal social climbing b#$%^ then dont buy this phone.
someone said that this phone is an "eye candy" for thieves? uhm if you walk on the streets of a thirdworld country - yes, but if you are rich and you have a car and you have body guards and you live in a safe place, no.
basically this is a luxury phone, for the love of God, it's 18k GOLD! this phone is LUXURY not your everyday NEED! wifi, expandable memory? hello! those stuff are for people who needs to work hard.

Working in the mobile industry I can tell you the 8800's are a joke among us all and the only reason we love selling them is they are FANTASTIC commission!

1) first, the phone isn't ... moreFirst of all there doesn't exist any 8 series of the os my friend. The phone is a new release and the 8800 has been reviewed. The OS of 8800 is yet to be revealed but i am sure in this generation of Nokia 8800 phones they would definitely provide Symbian OS.
Phones are categorized not into 8 series, they are categorized as Series 40 or Series 60 phones in general.
Don't blame anyone with half of your knowledge Mr. Mobile Repairer.
