I dind't buy this phone because of the luxurious looking or the functions. I did because I just liked it, period. I want a phone to talk and this the one I'm happy with. Thanks.

    Nokia 88XX phones are definately top class.....only owners will appreciate & understand! Anyway, the price is reasonable for such a lovely product. The reason is because I can keep using this phone for a long time instead of using some other un-satisfy "short lasting" phones which I keep on spending money changing phones frequently.....which in turn cost me even more in the long run.

      I agree with sage, the phone is definatley for someone for which money is no object,in terms of features it is fairly basic in todays standards and with the phone coming in at over £700, there are much better value phones available(N80,K800 to name but a few).Style over substance in this case i think..................

        i have to agree with Koureas G. big ups

        on the long run: if you want style then just by the SAMSUNG B&O phone, Right? it looks more stylish, anyway im happy with my SE K800i :-)

          Hi,
          I just saw this phone and I think one should not view it as a mobile device.If you are going to compare features and pricing, the equations dont work.The 8800 is a lifestyle statement.For ppl who cannot probably look sky up for a Vertu,this model seems to fill in the gap.For the value conscious mobile user,suggest you stick to the K790i or the N series.For ppl who think life is about luxury and class...go ahead and buy this handset...The phone probably proves that you have finally arrived in life !

            Guys I think we are in a middle of misunderstanding, I never suggest to nobody to buy 8800 Sirocco, just opposite…If you follow my post in 8800 section you will find that I clearly said that I’m not going to change my 8800 and 8800 Special edition for the new 8800 Sirocco. The reasons are exactly the one that you have mentioned. But about 8800 and especially 8800 special addition I’m not agree with you….I’m using them for long time already and I have no problems with them
            For your information I also have 8850 and 8910, because like you said, I also believe that those two are...timeless

              I just got my 8800 Sirocco, but every time a make a call I can also hear my self!!! Very annoying, any ideas??

                Personally I loose my patience when I see these same people defending this model, going to other blogs and crtiticizing other manufactuere's features.

                      To the previous post and the rest people:

                      As consumers we want the money we give for a product to represent the quality,the value and usefulness of it.
                      Unfortunately this doesn’t happen with Nokia 8800 and Nokia 8800 SE.
                      Price exceeds features,reliability and performance.Even my old Nokia 8910 is better than these phones.
                      In other words Nokia found an easy way and marketing tricks to rip off people.
                      This is Nokia 8800 SE - user opinions and reviews board and not a board for people that actually want or like this phone.
                      It’s easy to say the same cheap excuse again and again that people is jealous and can't afford it, because you don’t have something else to say to defend this “phone”,but it’s very hard to admit that this “phone”is not worthy and has nothing to show except high price.Maybe the truth hurts and some people don't want to see it.
                      Except from the design of this "phone" which is a subjective point of view if you like it or not, there is no other reason to defend this "phone".
                      Nokia 8800 SE is an overpriced product without a reason.This phone has nothing to show or you have nothing to expect from it.
                      If you want a bibelot or something to show off this phone is for you.
                      If you want a decent, reliable or good featured phone this Nokia 8800 SE is not for you.

                      I wouldn't recommend to anyone buying this "phone" just for the looks.
                      In market there are better alternatives.Simple as that.

                      PS:This phone is not a status symbol and it will never be classic like the rest 8xxx series models.
                      So it doesn’t make sense the expensiveness of this phone.
                      If you want to give more than £500 for this phone that's fine,it's your decision and right to do this but don't criticize other people with different opinion than yours.

                        I would like to tell you my personal opinion; this is place for USER opinions and REVIEWS. I’m quite sure that most of the people that placing theirs opinion here never used 88xx for more than few minutes in the shop only.
                        So, please don’t try to explain that all the 88xx users here are just stupid persons which are willing to spend money for noting, if you have something to discuss, do it, but… if you are not able to understand the reason why the 88xx is expensive I just want to say that I’m sorry, but you will never understand that. Regards to all 88xx users

                                      Goes without saying.. the phone looks attractive.. yet for the money Nokia expects people to invest in it, it is absurdly low equiped. Of course, the idea is to sell a fashion phone, not a skillful one.. but this is outrageous.. Anyone who buys this phone before it gets to aprox 550 - 600 $ must be either a moron, a fanathic, or Bill Gates' son.
