Maybe you're right. Maybe 8800 is just a piece of metal someone stepped on. Ferraris are amazing I agree, on multiple levels. However, we're talking of same kind of degree, in a sense that Ferraris, Mercedez, Porsche, BMW and other german cars who likes to produce the optimum Audi, VW, etc, they ALL do NOT fall in same category. Aston, Lamborghini Ferraris, the price may be similar, but one excels the other in mechanical terms of speed, power etc. However, style is also a factor. 8800 is steel cased and it has "style". All matter of opnion. I personally think this phone is attractive, but many of you here, don't seem to think so.
I don't find Lamborghinis attractive, but they are amazing, and if I had the money I would buy one. Ferraris are attractive all round, very appealing, like Astons. Also my views. Some may find it disgusting.
So 8800 may be not as good as the others, in MY opinion, it excels in style and because of that, I would buy this phone, not just because it's expensive, and I like the idea of looking good.
Wouldn't you rather buy a ferrari than a porsche? Some people say yes, and some people say no. All a matter of opinion.

I got 8800 before, now i changes to this phohe, is quite the sames for all features... You would not feel any different.

To me it sounds like most of the ppl haven't used the handset and started complaining abt this beauty and the 2nd thing sounds like its NOKIA's competetors are sitting and posting -ve feedback and last thing sounds like someone is just hired to keep giving the -ve Voting about the handset and to reach Design by 0%, Features 0% and Performance 0%

come on guys its just anouther over hyped nokia with what?? ist stupidly expensive been whacked witha hammer poor battery no expandable memory and it wont even make u a cuppa in the morning if people are stupid enough to re mortgage theire house to buy this then they are extremly insercure and have small c@cks come on look at soney ericsson the m6ooi or the outstanding w950i sleek touch screen 4 meg internall memory and great for mp3's

Very expensive Nokia HP. Nothing great but if you have the money and do not want anyone next to you holding the same phone then this is the right phone. Good sliding machanism. The one bad thing is that the ringing tone sucks.

i am waiting on the phone to be released here in australia, does any1 actually own the phone already? if so whats it like comparred with the old 8800? by the way i read some comments about others complaining about the price, then have a look at a phone called Vertu and then ull have a huge winge!

listen, i own a 8800, and i dont see it as a status symbol, orview it as expensive or watch the low features,i am basically a lover of phones, if u have u go around complaing and just trying put things down then u need to get out more!!!! some dude said he love his razr with more features and it costs less, do u believe the razr is worth that money, actually if u knew the production costs of many things u would not even wear underclothes.
on a point of note, when i bought the 880 i ddnt expect all the fanfare,i already had two smartphones and the like so i was cool. whether or not its a money making thing, oh well, isnt everything?? its like saying u wont wear nike cuz its made in sweatshops, but hey, where do u think all the clothes ur wearing are made........?

i think i need to sell my car to get it i have used the 8800 but this looks brilliant. i would have loved if Nokia had put in a memory card for external memory would have added even more gr8 value.Should have also included a WIFI as all new fones are commin with it but would get one soon may be in January wen the price drops a bit

OK you have nokia 8800 and v3 the most of the people are buying motorola v3 because is a flip with a super keyboard.the same is with 8800se and k1 and k1 will be again number one !

Hope that Nokia's fixed the software problem(phone keeps turning off and earpiece is hardly hear).This's only for people whose have lot of money to play around with or want to show off,now we can only pay 1/4 the price for a lot better phone with a lot more features,that we call value for money./.

Hi @ all, I got this phone since about 1 week, and its not so bad. Batterylife is much better than my old standard 8800. Software, especially phonebook works much more professional and the cam pics are fine. So why not buying one?

Dude people buy Ferarris cos they are a good piece of machinery. Their features and benefits live up to their couple of hundred thousnd dollar price tags. Not because they look hot!
This phone is NOT the Ferarri of mobile phones! It does not have features and benefits to live up to its price tag!
And to tell you the truth, it isnt as good looking as some people say it is!
You could pay 1/3 of the price for something with more features that also looks a lot better.
How you can say we are all JeAlOuS amazes me!
I have this feeling that the tables may turn once you own this phone for a while and start posting your problems on GSM arena.
I own a ferarri!!! I know what is worth my money!! This phone is not! I would rather walk around with a phone that has its features and is practical for use, but may be a little bigger, than looking like a tool with this featureless phone.
Lets face it. It is for people who want to look like they are rich!
You dont see too many positive comments on here! Maybe thats a sign.......
