Probably you know it better than me. :) I am waiting to see the first S class ultra smartphone, and I want to see some N series phones as soon as possible. By the way NOkia has only a few touchscreen phones, they have to produce more, because their rivals, SE, Samsung has a lot of touchscreen phones, and they have more experience.

Mobilemaster, 22 Feb 2010Thank you for all your infos! You are a big Nokia fan.
So ... moreYes, the N95 successor is expected to retain some sort of slider form, Nokia are teasing us with a new shape concept but the N Series guarantees it will be a touchscreen device, however the slider is expected to be a totally new concept that will be pretty much 'next generation' hardware we are being told. This is not official information, but we will know more once Nokia go to press and confirms this, thisis pretty much subject to change and the N95 will have likely have a new code name.
As for the S Series, all we know is just on speculation and Nokia need to confirm what was said on here before is true, these specific devices are closer to Tablet/Communicator terroiroty that will be the ultimate mobile computing concepts the original N Series were meant to be. The Nokia Erdos, a luxurious slider form, MAY be one of the rumoured S Class series of Nokia handsets, emphasising on the fact the S Series range are very limited exclusive models (similar to Vertu) and also highly specced tablet/netbook like portable mobile devices with a resolution which equals netbooks and lesser powered laptops (we're talking a range 1024x7??) with rumored specs of 1.3-5 ghz. The camera lens for this exclsive range are to be no less than 10mp. The S Series may be divided into a heavy multimedia business/luxury class. Series S are more than likely to be running Meego or Maemo 6 OS, the models being thrown around are previous incarnations of the series 90 handsets. We do not know where this will place the N900 which runs on Maemo 5, the replacement is also unkown but it is likely to be an S model if a replacement is due.

So we could see slider N series phones, like the N95. It seems good, because many people like slider phones more than touchscreen phones. :) And about S class, they will put probably 64Gb of internal storage right??

You talked about what phones th... moreNote I also said that the rumored Nokia N98, which isn't an official modelname may be released toward the end of the year on the new OS.
We will see fewer N Series devices, but Nokia want to rebrand the N Series as competitors to the likes of Android, Windows Phone 7 and IPhone, so these specific series will all be touchscreen enabled with capacititive touch. There will be just one or two N Series models released on the old Symbian 60 platform before we see one more added to the new Symbian ^ 3 portfolio toward the end of the year, which is most likely the unofficial prototype N87/N8 and the N98. The word is that the N95 will likely see a successor running on Symbian ^3 and NOT on the S series as reported earlier, this we are unlikely to see this fall. We are likely to see the N78 successor in different form sometime later in the year
Nokia have and have not denied that the Nokia X10 exists, as well as the long awaited successor to the Nokia 8800, the Erdos, which I am being told is actually being branded as one of the S Series models and NOT the the N95.

Mobilemaster, 21 Feb 2010What is your opinion about N98? THose rumors are true or no... moreThe Nokia N98 is just a rumored prototype for now and we're not likely to see such a model, a successor to the N97 until Symbian ^3 is out toward Q1 2011 or Q4 2010. The images posted online are apparently early prototypes but they are NOT the final design, more than likely they are fake but that is all that is known.
The Nokia N8-00/N87 is reported to more or less the same model, it will feature a 3.7 inch capacititive touchscreen with multitouch, sport a 12mp camera with xenon flash and is rumored to be the first Nokia to have the snapdragon processor with the Cortext ARM 8processor, however this may just be 600 Mhz as opposed to 1ghz of power. The N87/N8-00 is more or less the successor to the N86 and Nokia are also likely to be announcing the successors to the popular N78 and N95 models, the latter may be one of the S Series models which are being touted/rebranded as one of two very high end exclusive range of models. The other very high end spec model is likely to be a revival of the symbian series 90 based 7710, which is going to be the flagship device of the range and the Finns are exploring the idea of the dual touchscreen concept in communicator form, the concept prototype videos you may have seen on youtube is a hint into the research they are carrying out for this technology which may be present for this super top tier handset. These are early stages but this sounds promising as they are putting a lot of time into the flagship range. We are not likely to see this device until late 2011/early 2012 at the very earliest. This is unofficial information from a source of mine who works for Nokia in Finland so take it with a pinch of salt.

Mobilemaster, 20 Feb 2010Wow man, you have a LOTof news! You are a GREAt Nokia fan. ... moreSimple fact is: They're saving all thier news for a later date to make a big bang, as they didn't want to collide with Microsoft announcing thier Windows Phone 7 Series @ Mobile World Congress, as this was rumored to be announced since last year so they didn't think it would be wise to nix with Microsoft so this is one of the reasons they pulled out. Having your own event will definitely be better from the marketing point of view as they will be the sole focus of whatever they introduce rather than share the spotlight with Ballmer and co, it's the same as Apple and it's Iphone @ Macworld.
The other reason being was that Nokia planned on introducing it's alphabet series with a total rebrand of Symbian, we'll see only a number of N Series handsets and from what I'm told, the S Series will be announced much later in the year and will most likely be two devices and they'll be introduced or kept under wraps until Q3. Nokia want to concentrate more on thier C and X Series and make less smartphones, this is where the N and exlcusive S Series will come into play. I also understand that Nokia are planning on thier next notebook and will place more emphasis on thier alliance with Intel and the MeeGo operating system, which is a mix of Maemo and Moblin. Maemo 6 will most likely be incorporated with the MeeGo OS, and an S Series device is defnitely expected to run this OS at some point much later.

This is a low range phone and it STILL looks better than many of the other rivals top end smartphones and probably performs better too, LG/Samsung/SE and Apple take note......
This WILL be my next phone, or second phone, the features are enough to put most other rivals of the same calibre to shame! I love the look of it! If this is the low end range, just think what the S Series will be like, according to someone I know who works at Nokia, the S Series will be limited to 1/2 handsets a year.

Bill, 18 Feb 2010Hi, as far as i am aware the S Series sits above the N Seri... moreso, you're saying S Series may be the now redundant Maemo 6 smartphone. It makes sense that the S Series would be the successor to the very early Symbian series90 devices, 7700 and 7710, which sat above the communicator series 80 devices. considering the N Series are pretty high end devices anyway, the S Series will have to set a very high standard to be exclusive, are we talking about super smartphones that are pretty much on par with netbooks and laptops, super smartphones being even more powerful than the avearge 1ghz HTC HD2/Acer/Nexus One phone?

Mobilemaster, 13 Feb 2010Hi Bill!
Can you tell me something about the very high-e... moreHi, as far as i am aware the S Series sits above the N Series range, which is already a high end multimedia sector. The S series will probably most likely be the successor to the very high end Symbian Series 90 Devices, but will be completely be rebranded. As the N Series are touchscreen enabled much like the rest excluding the low end C series.
The S series will be based on the MeeGo, a combination of the Moblin OS by linux and Maemo 5 by Nokia. A partnership of Intel and Nokia, these devices will have as standard much higher resolution than 852x400, we're talking 1024 x 480 or higher, will have 12mp camera lens with autofocusxenon flash as standard but this is expected to be up to 15mp in two years. The screen size will be 4.3-4.8 inches so it's almost a tablet device. Nokia are rumored to be trying out dual screen touchscreens with the S Series, not too different from the concepts they presented a few years ago, in a folded clamshell communicator like style, so this has the potential to have great multitasking and increase the size of the display. Each handset will include snapdragon processors in the range of 1.3-1.5 ghz, but this is only in the next few years. Expect to see an s series device by Q4 this year, and nokia are expected to announce a new N Series flagship with a 3.7 inch touchscreen and capacititve touchscreen with a 12mp camera w/xenon flash and 720p HD video recording.

I take back whatever negative comments I had towards Nokia earlier, the c series are the budget end of the range for the Finnish Company. And to be honest, the C5 actually looks quite a good looking well featured lower range phone, if this is what we can expect from Nokia, they're gonna be pretty much unstoppable, Apple/Android can keep on dreaming.
The really low end series 40 budget models will be shipped to India and SE Asia, we'll still see plenty of them in US/Canada/Europe as Nokia want to make less smartphones. The E, N, S series and Maemo will fulfill the needs of the tech hungry rich consume whilst the C, X Series are aimed at the average joe/general public consumer and young people.
