Has anyone had any problems with vibrate alert function? Mine has stopped working suddenly. I've had my E50 for less than a year. Battery life is not good and my phone will last at most two days with minimal use before recharging is needed.

I have bought this phone after reading the reviews in here.
1. The phone when it came in had a the lock broken. They refused to change it. Saying it was a physical Damage and Repaired m brand new phone. Then I got lucky. The phone started hanging in an hours time. It was Changed. :)
2. Yes, the new phone also hangs at times.
3. In here it say mp3 Ring tones, I have not been able to find an option in anywhere to put in mp3 ring tones.
3. Quickoffice, is not very effecient.
4. The fonts of the phone are very small. No option of being able to customise then to your need.
5. I am a heavy GPRS USER. ITS very good in there, specially with the battery life.
6. Not so user friendly. I still miss being able to customize , literally evertyhing on my nokia 5300 and the E398.
7. I updated the software after a few weeks from the net. Worked flawlessly, only problem, every time I reboot the phone, it try to install everything again. :))
So far so good. Lets see what happens after this.

im using e50 for about 3 months ago, n i found it not as good as the review... many times, specially when sending an sms, it hang... sending only 1 sms can take about 1 minutes processing.. at forst i thought it caused by external memory capacities too full, but after i dumped some file from memery card, it just didn't getting better... n running other applications also take much time.. some of my friends using e50, also having the same problemss..

Overall this is a good phone except following two problems:
a) Nokia E50 phone hangs at times.
When receives a new incomming call, the display freezes. One can still continue talking but unable to operate the phone as such. The only thing one has to do is to remove the batter for a while and replace it back. This is as good as Restarting Personal Computers.
b) Few numbers are not recongnized although they are already stored in the phone directory. I tried saving them in all the possible formats but no success. I still have get to see as if its a new number calling me. Too bad at times specially the other person is special to you.
Smart phone, one must agree!

I've used it for alomst a week - it's everything a business owner can want, and not too much more. For the price its a ridiculous bargain. Only 2 gripes: the display font is quite small (but clear and sharp) but not adjustable. 2ndly, there's no autokeylock. Thankfully you can download a freeware called Autolock V1.1 which installs painlessly and works marvellous. I've subscribed for Blackberry from my provider, and works ok. The battery lasts, with my usage and BT on permanently, about 2+ days not more. On that subject, synchronizing using the Nokia PC suite via BT is the best syncing I've ever experienced.
The loudspeakerphone is very clear and loud - but losest some volume when held in the hand. Works best when left flat on the table. Music from it - be it music or ringtones - are not the best but ok.
If you are one who loves installing all kinds of software in your phone, then know that the OS, symbian 60 3rd edition, does not have many programs written for it. The phone is particular about software and even some which are supposed to be 3rd edition specific are not installable. But those which HAS been ok, work nicely. There's also no nice movie viewer that comes with it...but at this price, who should complain really!?! I love my phone...just curious if the E65 is any better...

excellent phone with no problems. Just that it takes to long to open certain applications. But overall a good phone. I give it a 97% on my take.

I just bought the Black Edition for around 9k in Delhi and the phone's ergonomics are mind blowing - its the sexiest little thing you can hold in your hand. I had actually bought it as a standby for my O2 Atom which is in for Service - and I must say that their service sucks totally!!!
Its an amazing phone - i need to check out the battery backup but m sure as a legacy of Nokia - its gonna be outstanding.
Ten arms straight - its not a multimedia phone - but its a business phone. Amazing to see that there are no preloaded games.
Loaded with office applications - Flash player, browser, mail client etc.
Pros:
- Excellent Ergonomics
- High Resolution Screen
- Very Simple to Use
- Powerful Business Features
- Seamless integration with PC (Bluetooth/IrDa/USB)
- Very useful options which are absent on N-Series
- Excellent Batter Life (Upto 6hrs of talk time & 3-4 Days of standby)
- Multimedia Player (Series 60)
- Symbian OS 9 series 60 (So you can install new softwares) - remember you cant do this with series 40 phones like 6300
- Good Navigation (Single handed operation)
- 70MB on Internal Memory
- Ability to integrate with GPS features using an external GPS module
- Phone Book is virtually limitless (No limit on number of entries)
- No Limit to number of SMS you can save (Hats off)
- I could go on and on...in short 70% of my O2 Atoms features for 1/3 the price - Way to go NOKIA E50
Cons
- 1.3 Megapixel Camera
- Poor Inbuilt Speaker (Ringtones sound crappy)
- No FM (This would have made this phone an all rounder)
- 16M Colour TFT - (similar to 6300 - although a 256k is decent enough considering most N Series come with a similar screen)
- Option to increase Font Size (Although I enjoy the small fonts)
- A stereo headset along with the phone (They pack in the mono ones to bring down price) Personally I wouldn't mind paying another 300rs for it.
- Pop-Port connectivity for PC. They should have stuck to the mini USB cable port being used by 5200/5300 music phones
- Birthdays added to phone book do not get added as reminders :(
Over all for the price i paid for it, I totally recommend this phone but its meant for business classes or executives.
I recommend it for sure.

Its a wonderful product by Nokia but needs a font magnifier installed in it. Psyloc font magnifier is there on the net but demands license, whereas this utility must be free of cost for Nokia E-50 customers.

The software is rather user unfriendly compare to 6xxx series for example. I am using a lot voice dialing (voice tags on contacts) and I couldn't activate this function, although I spend t hours reading the manual and making trials. Could you advise me how to manage that simple function?
