For anyone who has upgraded the firmware on their E50, have you noticed an improved difference in battery life? I haven't done the upgrade yet and am currently getting a 2 day battery life with just average use. I'm hoping to hear some good news about the upgrade improving battery life. Thanks.

I find the features of this phone extremely good. However, I have read on online forums (e.g. http://www.howardforums.com/) that on some E50 handsets, there is a crippling bug that causes the phone to freeze and switch on the loud-speaker (causing the caller's voice to be broadcast). The only way to get past this is to remove the battery. Some of friends too want to buy E50 but we are not sure if we should go ahead because of this problem. It has not been fixed in the latest firmware update for E50 (Jan 2007).

Have many E50 users actually faced this problem? Could some existing owners of E50 please post their experience in this regard?

          Thank you.

E50 DOES have Blackberry ! I am sure... But i find it quite useless, wouldn't use it anyways... By the way, i heard some really bad opinions about this phone from users, who changed their loyal business phone 6310 to e50, so if you're one of them, think before you buy...

                Dear Ansoor,
I bought a week ago and in nutshell, its a great phone have everything. The word, excel & powerpoint files are executed so fast that even PDAs cannot. If you are going to use GPRS go for this phone immediately. However, I have 2 problems and would like Nokia to answer:

                - Font size: You really need to release a new firmware to increase the font size. Generally this phone is being mostly used by business people and they are over 30 years old. Hence the eye sight gets generally weaker. Please do release firmware as soon as possible. Even if the eye sight is okay, still during the day light if you want to see a contact number, you can't read it well.

                - The reception of this phone is poorer than Nokia 6230, 6680 and many more. My question to Nokia is that why have they installed a weak receiver in a phone which was announced in May 2006 and not a decade ago. I had another Nokia phone 8320 or 8210 of 4 - 5 years old having similar problem.

Nokia Customer Service, please do reply to my above two quiries. Above question are for Nokia to improve and is not to critisized.

                  To S35r:

You mention Blackberry... are you commenting on the E50? I can't see any mention of Blackberry compatibility in the E50 handbook.

                      To 2Seef:

This phone is fast compared to other Symbian phones, one of the fastest in fact...
And don't worry about the alarm, it's a Symbian, download a good alarm clock and install it into your phone...

                      To Ansoor:

Well all Symbian phones hangs once in a while, but if you take care of it, it should be fine... For other problems read the review, and i think this is a great phone...

just got the E50 ... i previously had a 6230i .... this is my first symbian phone ...and i have a couple of issues with this ...

                          1. the e50 is noticably slow compared to the 6230i .. now i dont know if this is the same for all symbain phones .. i thought i wouldnt have any such problems since i have put in a 512mb card ...

                          2. the alarm in the phone .. i dont have an option for a recurring alarm .. i have to set my morning alarm everyday ... which i found quite funny .. i thought this phone should have a lot more features .. but it keeps falling short in the funniest of places ....

other than this .. till now i think the phone is pretty good ... realy like the way it sets in my hand ....

                            Hello,
                            I have a question about the e50.
Iam ready to buy the e50 because it's good business phone but i've read something about a different battery the bl-6c.
I would be great if it fit or work because the more capacity.

                            Does anyone have any experience?
                            thank you.

IMRAN are you crazy ? The screen is big, and the resolution is too big, so the view looks small...

For all the people crying about small fonts:

There are programs that can change the font size, it is a symbian, so anything is possible, so don't give up looking, or just start using Google... BUT ! It might not look good if you increase the font size, because of the icon size and resolution, but it's worth a try

U can´t change text or number size. Because of Symbian. Only if there is an upgrade for software but i don`t know if there is any.
