    I was about the buy Nokia E51 and was confused at the last minute saying the audio quality is not fine.

    I am searching whether I can get any Nokia N series that supports all capabilities of E51 (mainly WiFi and Mail Sync with Exchange server capability) along with nice audio quality.

    I like all your opinions posted and off course got more details from your opinion than from the shop keeper. Waiting for your suggestions...

      when connected to computer, it asks to remove memory card. How to access memory card data from computer?

W... moreHave you installed the nokia pc suit properly? you have to install the software you download via the application installer of the nokia pc suit. otherwise copy the .sis or .sisx file you downloaded to your memory card and install.

          and OS stands for OPERATING SYSTEM. the E51 runs on SYMBIAN OS like your computer runs on WINDOWS XP or VISTA.

          and you will not be charged PER E-MAIL but on how much data your email consumes.

            *** URGENT ****

            I just bought this NOKIA E51 last week and I accidentally plugged the battery charger socket into the EARPIECE hole. And then something came out on the screen, something about "HEADPHONE" and I did not wait long until I plugged it again. I was confused about the holes that's why.

            My questions:

            1) Does this already damaged my phone?
            (Considering it's only an accidental event).

            2) Everything is working well and perfect though.


            PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS. I would really appreciate it!

              To EVERYONE:

              Before updating your firmware be sure to back up everything on your memory card or PC as a firmware update WILL erase all the 3rd party stuff that you put on the phone...including your precious contacts.

              Before updating to version 200.34.36 I backed up everything to my memory card. After the new firmware was installed I restored back everything to the phone memory.

              Everything worked out fine except the 3rd party programs I installed. I have 3 programs, Fring, Nokia Chat and Yahoo Go! 3.
              After restoration ONLY Yahoo Go! worked. The others just blink when you try to open them.

              So my warning to you people is that if you back up your software to your memory card before a firmware update be prepared to re-download and re-install most if not all of your programs.

              I will do a backup to my PC soon and see if the same thing happens after a restoration.

                Steve, 14 Aug 2008...and what about the high SAR ? 1.4 ... too much I think, ... moreI don't want to hear another comment about the SAR.

                The highest SAR allowed for FCC passing is 2.0. Having said that why make a big deal about 1.4 ?

                I am yet to feel any effects from the SAR.

                The other day somebody from here said they were on a VOIP call for 1hr. 45mins. which should be more radiation seeing that Wi-Fi is involved...and that person didn't complain about any adverse effects, no headaches, nothing.

                I was on a call close to an hour and I felt the same as I did before I made the call.

                Stop making a big deal about SAR.

                If you follow these things you WON'T use anything at all on earth and become cavemen again.

                It is said your very MICROWAVE has serious radiation and is slowly killing you. I'm sure these radiation reports haven't deterred you from using your microwave.

                No consumer electronic would be passed if there was a serious health risk.

What is: HSCSD, EDGE, WLAN and OS? And if you do have your email on it, 4 example i have gmail, how much euros will it cost 4 email? Thanx!!!

I've been trying to download photosms softwar... morethis phones supports .sis files as well as .sisx files. go to menu > tools > settings > applications > application manager and set SOFTWARE INSTALLATION to ALL and ONLINE CERTIFICATE CHECK to OFF. if you get the EXPIRED CERTIFICATE warning just set your date to 2007 or 2006 before installing the application and set it back to 2008 after the installation.

                          HBK, 14 Aug 2008Hi there go for nokia 6233 its a business fone plus multime... moreNo 16.7 million color display, Smaller Phone book, Memory card slot supports only up to 2 GB, only 6MB internal Memory, No WI-FI, NOT A SMARTPHONE plus its very old.

                          Meika has clearly mentioned "for me camera and music doesn't matter at all." Have you done a comparison of the 2 phones? the E51 supports up to HSDPA 3.6Mbps unlike 384kbps in the nokia 6233. Meika is concerned about the browsing capabilities and the 6233 is not the phone for the job. its just a S40 phone. it cant go anywhere near the Nokia E51. In other words the E51 has a better built in browser than in the 6233.

                          and who can say the 6233 has no hanging up problems? would've shown you 1 if you were from my country. Hanging up is due to software failures. its nothing to do with the phone. i mean not all phones hang up. and the original nokia E51 is from FINLAND which is the country of origin for Nokia phones.

                          Whats more Meika wanted to select a phone within a range of 3 phones. SE k660i, nokia e51 and the samsung i450. you have just wasted your time jabbering about the 6233!

                              Meika, 14 Aug 2008Thanks winura.. but can u Plz let me know what processor or... moreWell i don't know the type of processor but i managed to find out that the processing speed is 416MHz which is slightly faster than the processor in the E51 and the RAM is 64MB.

                              The browser is the same as the one you get in the E51. its got the same operating system. so OS wise both phones are basically the same. so the browser is very good.

                              well the sliding mechanism has not been so reliable over the past, has it? bar shaped phones are much more reliable than a slider. (my personal idea) besides a nokia is so much better than a samsung.

                              may i ask you something? why are you planning to buy the CAMERA LESS version?

                                      Can anyone out there please help and tell me how to completely erase e-mails received from my mailbox. I have tried Options - Mark all - Delete and this doesn't work. Pressing the "pencil" also does not do the trick.

                                        Thanks winura.. but can u Plz let me know what processor or ram does i450 have. Will it be able to open up complex web pages? And what r the chances of its slide mechanism to get faulty after some time? If it will i think should stick with buying an e51 camera less edition
