To WINURA and anybody else:

Other than the higher quality audio playback according to Winura, what difference is there after upgrading to firmware version 200.34.36 from 100.34.20. I'm wondering if my sound volume will be increased at all, maybe a fix to a glitch. I really hope it's a little bug and updating the firmware will fix the sound volume.

It's strange that Nokia gives official reviewers like CNET, Mobile-Review and others the phone to test and some say the ringing volume and speaker phone is very loud and others say the ring volume and speaker phone is low or soft. These are official reviews, not user reviews.

I'm wondering why the differences in the authentic E51 which Nokia gives the reviewers to test.

I'm so disappointed as I know that Symbian phones are normally loud. To be honest my 6300 is a tad bit louder when playing the same MP3s. My 6300 is from Hungary and my previous phone before 6300, 6230 was also from Hungary and that 6230 was really loud.

I have always liked Hungarian Nokias because they NEVER disappoint me. It makes me wonder if I had got a Hungarian E51 if I would have been in a better situation and getting the loudness I truly wanted. The only problem is that the majority of Nokia Symbian phones are made in Finland. Furthermore, I said with Finland being the parent company I would, for the first time, go with the Finnish version for the best phone on the market, E51. Thought I would have been happy but I am not. Don't get me wrong, the features are great so far but the most important thing is the ringing as it's primarily a phone and missing calls due to low ringing makes absolutely no sense.

I miss phones like 3310 & 3410. Whether they were from Finland, China or Brazil there ringing were very loud. You could never miss a call even on a construction site.

I hope to find someone with a Hungarian E51 and if there's is much louder I will only stick to Hungarian models as of now like I have done for the past 3 years.

I really hope upgrading will solve my only gripe. I really do.

In regards to the above, are you talking about Nokia Chat or Skype chat feature ?

Also, regardless of what was said by the manufacturer, why can't it be used unless you have a data plan, suppose you try to use the voice features when you are in a hot spot...won't it work ? Have you tried ?

Bad question buddy, Nokia e51 has NO inbuilt games, Disappointing as it sounds
However, understand the positioning of the phone. Its aimed at Professionals, Not that professionals don’t play games, Honestly some one like me would not have the time & the spare battery for running games and the funky suff!

On the other hand it’s got every possible way you would want to connect!
Although no TV out or any Jazzz…. I don’t expect a phone costing what this one did to come with all of it. Overall value for money! Stylish & decent

Downside: Key pad (Too small), Metal body finish (Figure print snatcher)
                Am I happy? “Yes”

G, 15 Jul 2008To Winura: 1. Is it true tat E51 has a dust prob? Heard ... morefor your 1st question,

so far i have not got any dust under my screen. but i know a person who use a E51 which is "made by nokia" which has dust under the screen as well as under the camera panel. take it to your nearest nokia center and get it cleaned. they don't charge for that.

                  as for the 2nd question,

basically its the same phone with a few adjustments on the E71. if you're a E51 user and if you're planning to get the E71 as your UPGRADE, i would say that it won't be much of an upgrade. and if you're deciding on what to buy compare the prices of the phones which they're being sold in YOUR country and decide whether its worth to buy the E71 with a quite expensive price tag. but if you got the money and if you don't care much about having blackberry on your phone plus, looking for a better camera than the E51, go for the E71.

Does this mobile support 8GB microSD card? The Nokia site's specification says 4GB max. So how does this info come in? Is there any user who got to manage to use 8GB with E51?
If there is anyone who know about this, it will be helpfull to get us known.

                    Thanks.

                          2. Is E51 a better buy than the E71 if I'm not keen on E71's QWERTY keyppad or the bigger screen size?

It's ok gang. I may have resolved my problem.

I managed to dig up my old Forum Nokia account, hopefully that will work with the Nokia Chat and any other communication software which requires an account.

Winura & the gang, were you forced to give your mobile number before getting a Nokia account ?

I believe I had an account from way back, more than 4 years ago but I believe that has expired.

When I tried creating a new account, right after entering my phone number it said: "Unfortunately this site does not support your foreign number."

There must be a way to get a Nokia account without giving a contact number or give a contact number without errors being reported.

Gang, other than MyNokia.com, which other Nokia service do you know of which allows you to sign up for a Nokia account ?

I could get an account if I lied about my number but it would be nice to include my number so they could contact me live and direct if needs be, say I win something etc.

I have given my number before to the customer care department and they were ok with the area code/country code.
