i don't understand why some users cant connect to their wireless networks properly with the device. I'm posting this from my device which is connected to the wireless network of the open university of sri lanka not more than 50 meters away from my house.

                To WINURA:

I do appreciate your explanation and I didn't try to find any weak points in your response. Did it seem that way to you ?

Nevertheless, I thank you for your explanation and I found it to be clear, concise and well said. I couldn't have said it any better for any phone I advise people on.

I'm not completely ignorant to s60 but the fact that I never owned one makes me ignorant for the most part.

Funny enough I have assisted people who had problems with their s60 dating from Symbian OS v6.1 up to s60v3 phones like E61i. I merely used general tech knowledge to solve their problems. However, Winura, I admit, in this case you can be my tutor and I have no problem being the student. I'm not too proud as some people think.

I have played around with quite a few smart phones in my time...7650, 3650, N-GAGE, 6630, E61i and N80 to name a few. I was never an enthusiast to own a s60 phones as I found them to be too heavy, too big and too slow but it's a new era now and I look forward to being the proud owner of the E51 and to embrace the s60 platform once and for all.

For those who have a problem with me onnu betta lack onnu eye cause I plan to become a RESIDENT poster as soon as I acquire the E51.

Looking forward to sharing my E51 experiences with you all. Take care and one love.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970VIJAY, WINURA and I are cool. He used to visit the 6300 forum as he too owned a 6300 and he sought my advice about a few things which I had no problem sharing with him. Now it's my turn to seek advice from him seeing that he purchased the E51 before I have.

Many people are grateful for the advice I have given them over the years starting with the 6230 which to me is still my home forum.

I plan on getting the E51 soon so I will be resident in this forum thereafter which is only practical whereas VIJAY, you aren't. Have a nice day.

                                To WINURA:

I decided to reply too early. I replied after reading the first line of your reply.

After I replied I continued reading the rest of yours and realised you answered my question further down. The answer to my question is the file manager part which as you say, gives direct access to memory cards in the same was s40 does.

You see I have never owned a s60 phone before. It was always a turn off for me due to the lag time, weight, bulky size and enormous dimensions. All that has been changed completely with the release of E51.

In owning a E51, I guess the only thing I will miss is the full screen camera mode. That won't be much of a bother though as all my previous phones before 6300 didn't have full screen camera mode.

Winura, 02 Jul 2008what exactly do you mean you can't access the memory card d... more"what exactly do you mean you can't access the memory card directly?"

In s40, when you go to Gallery you see Memory Card at the top of the menu. You can then open it and see all the files and folders. You can do whatever you wish with each file or folder, delete, rename etc. You see every single thing on the memory card at a glance irrespective of what program the files are associated with.

That's what I mean when I say you can't access the memory card directly on s60.

You had a 6300 previously so you should clearly understand what I'm saying.

Even s40v2 phones like 6230 could access the memory card directly.

                                      Hi Guys,
I own a E70 and it was a good phone till the time the joystick strated giving me problems. Now I need to switch my phone and have tried some lower end model but am not satisfied with the loudness of voice when listening to a call.

I need opinions from E51 users on 2 aspects -
Is the phone loud enough when talking using the handset directly as well as when talking with a handsfree?

Is there any feature available on E51 such that we may be able to mute the call from our side (so that I am able to listen to the conversation but no noise on my part reaches the speaker)? [this feature is required when making conference calls where you are just passive participant and especially if you are travelling when listening to the call]

I have recentelly faced a problem with my Nokia E51, can anyone please help me.

I got my E51 around 12 days back, it was working great but yesterday i experienced a problem, that when i pressed the Main Menu key the phone did not showed anything on my screen, it showed a blank screen, no icons no nothing at all it was sort of hanged.
While pressing the back key i was on my main screen, all other keys were working fine but my excess to the main menu screen was restricted.

I then switched OFF the phone and in a minute or so i switched it back ON then i was able to go to the main menu screen.

This problem occured almost 5 time in yesterday only where i have to switch it OFF and then switch it ON, but today since morning i have not faced this problem as yet but it might happen again.

So can anyone please help me and guide me what to do.

                                        My Email is: sl_75@hotmail.com

Your help would be highly appreciated - Thank you.
