      Hi all,
i want to know one thing. It is specified that E51 can support SDHC cards up to 8GB, but which card will be apt for E51 irrespective of the storage size.I also want to know whether its performance is best with SD or SDHC (both use differnt file formats,FAT & FAT32 respectively)If its FAT we can go only upto 2GB.
      what about u all?
      thanks for all ur opinion.

Original_Jamaican, 01 Jul 2008NOKIAMIA , WINURA: There's one thing I don't like about ... morewhat exactly do you mean you can't access the memory card directly? the gallery shows all the images, music file and other stuff which are both in the phone memory as well as the memory card. and if you want to open a word or a .pdf file you can use quick office of adobe reader or you may access the memory card through the file manager and just select the file you want to open and then if the required software is available it will open the file you have selected. and to use your installed applications unlike in the 6300 you don't have to look for the installed application in the memory card the E51 let you access the applications from the installations folder. you can do this in the 6300 by going to the applications folder but since the phone memory is too small people tend to move the installed applications to the memory card.

and sometimes the E51 won't allow you to use the memory card as a usb like you can on the 6300 that means you will have to work with the pc suite or should format the memory card which will solve the problem.

the reason nokia has not included the option to turn off the camera shutter sound is not because they have forgotten but for an obvious reason, mis-using the camera.i heard they will not be including this option on some upcoming models as well. (the information about the camera option might not be 100% true, its something i heard from a friend of mine who works for nokia)

as for the camera comparison, even though both cameras are 2mpxl the E51's camera is a bit better than the 6300. but unlike the 6300 the E51's camera don't come up in full screen. but i have noticed something amazing in the of the E51. no matter how much you zoom the image resolution don't reduce. it stays as 1600x1200. in the 6300 the image gets smaller as you zoom. then video recording. unlike the 6300's 176x144 resolution the e51's cam gives out 320x240 resolution on video recording. so the videos are very clear on day time and not so bad at night. so its a lot better than the cam you get in the 6300. you get .mp4 format videos from the E51 which means even the sound quality of the video is good.

bought this a month ago and i love it!

it beats my previous P990i in all departments, imo. its fast, no software issue, no hanging problem, ease of use and battery last up to 5 days without turning it off.

just wondering if the chrome plate is replaceable? anybody knows?

                        @winura,
mobile lamination is a process in which the mobile is wrapped in small polythene cover(which is a little heat sensitive) after that hot air is passed over this cover using a blower, which makes this cover to shrink lightly .After this process there will be that polythene cover all around the phone, but we don't feel it except around the edges. Then holes are put on this cover where ever it is required using a pin (ear piece, charger slot, headset & usb and speakers). All this process is very fast and done manually in less than 10 minutes.
I asked u the question only to know whether u know any bad results in doing this.Hope U got me.

                          NOKIAMIA , WINURA:

There's one thing I don't like about Symbian. You cannot access the memory card directly like you can with Nokia OS (s40).

With Symbian you have to run the respective application in order to get access / make use of the files on the memory card.

With s40 you can manage and interact with files stored on the memory card in every way thinkable.

Unless it can be done just like s40 and I'm missing something when I use Symbian devices. Please enlighten me if I'm wrong.

Regardless, that factor won't deter me from getting the E51. I'm impressed enough with the E51 to let that turn me away.

I guess the only gripe I will have is not being able to turn off the camera sound. I like to take candid photos so as you can see, that's a end to candidness right there.

The way I see it, the E51 advantages outweighs the disadvantages so I will indeed jump onto the bandwagon. Always good to hear from you people.
