blue, 23 Jun 2008hi winura, thanks for the reply. i dint install anything, i... morewell i can clearly see that you have got your hands on a factory defected device. can't you ask for a replacement? because the E51 is not a bad phone and its good value for money. i haven't found a phone which provides all the functions for such a small amount of money. but if you have already decided to change the phone what are you gonna go for?

Winura, 21 Jun 2008i see no connection between heating up while talking and cr... morehi winura, thanks for the reply. i dint install anything, i like to keep phone as basic as possible so i didnt bother, i took it back to the store but they been makin me run around,the guys at nokia intially said its the battery problem,they took the phone replaced the battery n returned it but all my contacts,messages,reminders everything was clean, but the phone is still switchin off so now the guys at nokia say it has to be sent to chennai ( am in hyd) n it will take a week. i wanna get rif of the mobile, wat is ur advice? help :(

hey,
so I was looking at the E51 out of curiosity, and when the guy switched it on it took ages to load up, lots of flickering. I must have waited for a good 40sec till i could use it.
Is this normal, or could it possibly be because it might have been the first time the phone was switched on?
Nice phone, but too long, it felt a bit like a remote.

For slider version u have to go for E66,its the latest which will be released by July.Just check out the home page of gsmarena.

I bought this phone six months back. Till last week it was working fine. Now Battery is draining with in one day. and Phone started to behave weirdly. I am not able to press 8 and 9 buttons. some times it opens Email setup application for any key press. Any help on this?

I have the wifi auto scanning turned off, yet the phone keeps scanning for wifi spots and interrupts phone calls or sms. The phone restarts on its own and heats up while being used.Is there any update or patch available for update?I checked the Nokia website when I bought the phone and did not find any updates available. Any help/sugegstion is appreciated.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970this phone records video in .mp4 format. but haven't tried playing a .mp4 file which was not recorded by the cam. anyway .3gp plays well. i have seen and heard people using both nokia maps and google maps. but i don't know how good google maps is but nokia maps is pretty good.

I stored 8432 sms on my e51 under different floder and got 3219 contacts on my phone

Thanks for giving me answer now im asking which software can run this phone nokia maps or google maps properly coz its a 3g cell and no one giving me ans of playing video which format video can play dis fone directly widout softwares install 3gp or mp4 like my 6233 java s40 cell fones thanks so much again

Steve, 21 Jun 2008can any body help me...i joined at&t(usa) network and picke... moreuse the "mail for exchange" application for your e-mail on the phone. its pretty easy to set up as well. first configure all necessary settings with the E51. contact your service provider. and if you want to enable the blackberry feature you may find a detailed video in www.youtube.com

Anonymous, 21 Jun 2008Hi all, @ winura i do remember that u told to... moreits better if you can empty the battery first. i have done this and i'm giving answers and opinions on my personal experience. nothing has gone wrong for me so far by using the method that i mentioned. you are free to use any method you like. but i can assure you that my method will do no harm to your device. i started to use mobiles since 2001 with a nokia 8250 and till now i have used 11 nokia phones, 2 samsung phones and 1 sony ericsson phone. all 14 phones were were charged according to the *EMPTY BATTERY > 8x4x4 method and i have never had problems with my battery's.

winura i do remember that u told to use the phone first(initially)till its battery empty and then start the process of
8hr-4hr-4hr Right?But i have a doubt, all the electrical appliances fitted with batteries will have a label of
"CHARGE BEFORE INITIAL USE".Is the phone to be charged before its very initial use or to be done as u said?
And are you so sure about it?
i know the second phase u told 8hr-4hr-4hr which is technically correct, and is performed to get all the cells to the working state.but i am really confised about the initial phase.

can any body help me...i joined at&t(usa) network and picked up a blackberry with my plan but i want to put my at&t sim in to my nokia E51.how do i set up the E51 with the network so i can get email etc and take full advantage of the phone!
