mani (karachi), 21 Jun 2008hi do you know nokia release e66? what is the major diff... morewell in general both are 3G enabled phones while the E66 has a dedicated cam for video calls, a larger display, 3mpxl cam, an accelerometer, considerably more features than the E51 and 128MB of ram. i cant say much about the E66 since i have not got a chance to examine it physically. so i will leave that to the experts at GSMArena or a person who has got a chance to experience both phones.

HBK, 21 Jun 2008Hey fellows e51 user im sms lover and i send and receive hu... moreI don't think anyone here will store more than a 1000 messages in their phones. because having lot of messages in your inbox is kind of annoying when you have to search for 1 particular important message. so therefore i don't think anyone here will give a proper answer for that. but as for your next question, yes, you can change the message storage location from phone memory to memory card. goto menu > messaging > options > settings > other > memory in use into memory card.

For exampl... moreyou can download smart movie player from www.mobango.com and you can get the newest version of divx player from the divx official web site. but .wmv is a format that i'm not so sure about whether you can play with those players and codes. but instead you can always convert any video file you want into .divx or .avi and play them with the above mentioned video players.

Yesterday, I updated the firmware for the E51, it is now the latest: 200.34.36.
However after this update internet from phone stopped working. I can't use e-mail, browser or any other app that needs connection to the internet. It will not work over gprs, edge, HSDPA nor wifi. All it says is: "connection not available", it will not even try to bring up packet data connection, with wifi it will connect to the network but apps can't use it.
Also, the (WAP. WEB and MMS) setting massage that the provider (or from Nokia site) sent to the mobile is received corrupted and can't be saved.
Any tips?

Hey fellows e51 user im sms lover and i send and receive hundreds of sms daily can any one tell me how many sms e51 can store in his shared memory of 130 mb i think thousands of how much any one stored and can i change sms memory to memory card thanks

Winura, 20 Jun 2008there is no such format called "3G". its the technology the... moreWhere can we find all the codecs for this phone? For example, I am searching very hard for it to play all the streaming wmv but dupe because as it is it will refuse to play all the wmv streaming sites.
For those not on 3G network, do this to switch off the 3G scanning:
Tools> Settings> Phone> Network> Network mode> GSM only.
Why would one not want both? Well it has been proven time and again that scanning for both network strain the battery.
But more importantly in many locations, the auto switching of GSM UTMS(3G) often drop the call.

blue, 21 Jun 2008hey hi,i bought nokia e51 2 months back, it was workin real... morei see no connection between heating up while talking and crashing. the crash might have caused due to firmware failure of your phone. have you been installing a lot of un-necessary 3rd party applications on your phone? that could be a reason. but then again there could be some other serious problem. you have mentioned that the phone is just 2 months old so it should be in the warranty period right? so the best thing for you to do is to take it back to the store and tell them what happened. or you can always take it to your nokia care center. but before that check you battery and the connectors.

hey hi,i bought nokia e51 2 months back, it was workin really well except for gettin really hot while talkin for too long, but last night it suddenly crashed, the screen is blank n it isnt switchin on, i have tried everything. it is a brand new phone n i bought it from a legal store. has anyone experienced this prob? any help? :(

1.How to give password to selected file o... more1) you will have to use a 3rd party application to lock a folder. there is not built in software for that in this phone.
2)and you cannot rewind or fast-forward any video which is being played with the built-in video player of the phone. you will have to install 'smart movie' or 'divx player'.

Anonymous, 01 Jan 1970don't be silly now. what is there to do with your computers firewall if there is no update for you phones product code? and have you updated your phone recently? if you have done it you must have noticed that the new firmware (200.34.36) is only 67MB, not 89MB!!!! not even the new version of the the pc suit 6.86 version is also only 30.8MB so far i have never seen anything big like 89MB to be downloaded on the nokia's official web site. grow up boy. and stop bringing up pointless arguments in this forum. if you want to help someone go ahead. but make sure you don't give that person any misleading advice. and watch your language. if you offend me or any other person who is in this forum, your IP will be banned from the site allowing you not to post in this forum again.
