I do own a Nokia E51 White Silver (Stainless Edition). I also worked for Nokia as a Design Engineer. I will give you some tips and tricks that can be useful for your sleek E51 and to use its maximum features.

Trick Number 1

When you want to speed up the system response of the phone go to call log and change it from lest say 30 days to just 1 day. ( Unless you are very keen in tracking your phone log )

Trick Number 2

To prolong the battery life, please do close unwanted application on the phone by pressing the house icon for 2 seconds and press the clear button to exit it.
You can also change the 3G network to GSM mode when you are not expecting a video call, MMS, or using the mobile internet.
When the " Low Battery" message appears and you wanted to prolong your battery life for a few more hours, simply decrease the phone volume, deactivate vibrator mode, and lower the phone brightness. This will give you 2 hours more of standby time in cases of emergency.

Trick Number 3

Please do always use the synchronize feature of the phone to save relevant data and update it once a week if possible. You can back up all the files of the phone including your MMC.

Trick Number 4

Proper charging of the phone makes the battery life last longer. You do charge your phone when its totally empty and not when its in a "low battery mode". The battery has microchip implanted with a memory that can recognize when the phone is to be charged totally and when its not. Not completely charged battery for E51 might result in a poor battery life. Mine normally last 5 days with WI-FI running, SMS, MP3 and bluetooth for business use.

Many more tricks that I will share in future posting.......

Wat a question, ??? What should you do?... What a question, You will have made many users smile today. Well you have a couple solutions.. Phone up nokia and ask for a one off E51 be designed just for you with a front camera so your girlfriend can see ? she could carry around a photo and clip it to your phone? You could phone her in same room? BUT ! honestly mate fancy posting a problem like that, As the readers will know I helped lots of people on here but God would find it hard to stick a camera on the front of your E51.. HERES the solution. tel her to buy you a different phone, Read the spec before you buy. And buy a different model with a front facing cam. The E51 Was designed for a different market, So say to her " busy with the business babe " E51 still worth it and even more so if the missus cant check up on you like a wireless mirror.. Goodluck mate..

Wanted to know whether E51 is Blackberry compatible i.e. if my company has a blackberry enterprise server installed, will I be able to get my Lotus Domino mails on this phone easily (i am able to get it on E61 - not sure whether the two phones are different as far as this feature is concerned)

                Dear All,

Does any body know whether this device contain GPS? Overall, E51 has all features I need, but still not sure it has GPS or not? This is the reason why I'm still hesitate to buy it. Please help me if someone know about this, so that I can decide asap. Thanks a lot!

The E51 is one of the Best Phone Nokia ever build. It has everything I do need for Nice Basic Phone. It is slim, Nice package, 3G, Wi-Fi, Light, E-mail, World Coverage, and many more features. I do have the N82 and do not use it much since feel to big and heavy in my Hand. Only ofer better Camera. So What. I think Nokia made a mistak not think E51. Since after buying E51 there is no need of buying another Nokia Phone. Just as alternative 2nd phoen wait for new IPHONE or HTC Daimond. But I never sell my E51.

Dont be confused NO LONGER.. lol
The E51 is in a totally different legacy to the now dated N73. E51 Has far better symbian and far more features including WIFI Smaller and better battery life. The 2 cant really be compared. in my opinion as for Candy bar phones from nokia go the e51, 6233 and 5310 are the best so far. Its down to personal preference really. As for the faulty E51,s mentioned today. take em back and get them replaced. The majority of them are ok. Sorry to hear about the issues some people had. Faulty when manufactured maybe. E51 is still a top sweet candy bar !!!

Stop being a prat and go for the E51! Its much faster, slimmer, lighter, and and looks better too! N73 is old now and sluggish from what I remember!

I also had the same problem with mine. It was very creaky and use to make squeaky noise even when pressing button. I heard the ones made in Finland are suppose to be of a better build quality, but mine was made in Finland! I have another one on order and that one is also made in Finland so lets see what happens!

I've been using this phone for a month, it's really a perfect sturdy phone packed with features compared with other models. But the battery gets consumed quickly if you use data transfer like GPRS or WLAN. The fully charged battery is completely drained in an hour or two, so u need to keep the cable in charge to do ur data work. The camera is good but other nokia phones gets better picutes with 2MP. Also it could be better if nokia considers adding picture bridge feature to this device..
Another point: it's easier to switch between input languages in the N series using the pencil button, while in this device U have to scroll in a menu to select the language or the symbol mode. Pls nokia find a solution for this,
