My E51 has gap between the metallic frame and the volume Up/Down/Mute keys (dust may enter the gap going under the screen - not the plastic).. Too bad for us E51 users experiencing this kind of problem.. i want to ask all E51 users if you have this kind of problem?? to the people buying this phone, check first if the phone has this problem.. i agree this is a major concern..

        To Babar:
        -----------

I am replying to you because I had the same situation as yours. I was waiting the E51 then I bought the Nokia 6120 Classic when the E51 delayed in Egypt. I will only comment on the Differces between the 2 Phones. Both Phone are very Good Phones. I liked them very much.

        A- The Design:
        -----------------
1- The 6120 classic is a little bit thiker than E51. The E51 is Slim Phone. It is shorter and Lighter than E51.

2- Both of them has 2 MP Camera but the 6120 Classic is better for taking photos because of the Flash which is not included in the E51.

3- Both phones can make Video Calls but the 6120 is better because it has 2 Cameras so you an see the person that you are talking to and he can see you in the Same time.

4- Keypad in the E51 is muh better than 6120 Classic (specially for the control and Navigation Keys). The E51 has additional Dedicated keys for Email, Calender, Phone Book. The Keys are more comfortable in E51.

5- The Volume Keys are more hard to press in the E51.

6- The Speaker is better in the 6120 Classic.

        B- Features:
        ---------------

1- E51 is business orignted not multimedia orignted.

2- Both of them has the same processorand the same operating system. But the E51 has much more memory than 6120. Also the E51 can support up to 4 GB SD Card but the 6120 onlu support up to 2 GB SD Card.

3- The Screen is the same in size but both of them has a week point. You see your finger prints always on the 6120 Classic. And the Plasti Sheild iin the E51 is easly scrached.

4- The Connectivity in the E51 muh better than 6120. It has WLAN which is a feature that I will never buy a phone without it and also has Infra Red and operates on more networks than 6120.

        Conclusion
        --------------
The E51 is like adding more future and new desion for the 6120 Classic except for the Camera, Flash & weight (Only few Grams more)

I too noticed a slight GAP between the metalic frame and the volume Up/Down/Mute keys. Is that a point of concern. Just got the handset. I'm too worried. Kindly clarify or else I've to contact for Repair/Replacement.

that noise starts after a few days of use.i think that all e51 make that little noise because of the different materials. as for the gap this is a problem. mine's gap close after re assembled the phone. by the way one of the best phones.

And to all e51 users if u want skype over wifi use FRING its free and very good.

                  thanks again for the response...

                  It's still a great phone..
I'm still trying to learn how to navigate some features though...

thank you to the people who give great comments here..

                  goodluck to you all..

                    to Tolits

I just got the phone today and I didn't notice it before and just found out after 2 hours of navigating the phone.. I checked a different store and there are no gaps on the others.. I went back to where I got it and even let the others hear the squeaking sound.. they said they'll call me and would give a replacement in a few days.. I think it would be better to get the replacement that doesn't squeak and have gaps.. maybe it's just one of those units that are not perfectly OK..
anyway.. thanks for the response.. it made me feel relaxed..

i have this sounds and the gap too.i opened the phone and i found that the soft side plastics can't fit exactly with the metal part. i dont think it is such a serious prob except that annoying noise

It look great and navigates well..
I just like to ask you guys.. have you checked the sides of the phone?
would there be a gap between the metallic frame and the volume button or the IR port? It looks like it could cause some concern..
When I tried to snap it together to lessen the gap, I could hear a squeaking sound..
I just want to make sure if I should be too concerned...

Searching the SAR values you can notice that E51 has SAR values for use of the device at the ear 1.40 W/kg-the highest value between NOKIA phones. Other phones have approximately less than 0.6 W/kg.

This is maybe the answer to the question why it is heating very much while talking. I suppose that the highest the SAR is, the more power it is using to reach the Radio Base Station that result in more heat values.

For those that do not know what is SAR:
Specific Absorption Rate or SAR. The SAR limit stated in the ICNIRP guidelines is 2.0 watts/kilogram (W/kg) averaged over ten grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are conducted using standard operating positions with the device transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands.

These data has been used from the NOKIA official site.

To all who complained about having finger prints on their phones, try using the polishing cloth which nokia has provided with the sales package. they have provided that for a reason. you will have to deal with finger prints on almost all shiny surfaces. for this problem the only solutions i can think of are,

                            1. Don't use the phone

                            OR

                            2. Use the polishing cloth at least once a day!

as for those who cant be bothered to do so, you don't deserve this phone. my point is, if someone cant spend 5 minutes for a day to care about your phone, should be ashamed of your selves.

*** the way that a person takes care of his/her phone describes the personality of that person! ***

Oh, yeah, let me tell about the lows:

                              - the silver edition gets a lot of fingerprints
                              - I can not believe Nokia did not put the stopwatch in it, or I'm just stupid enough to find it
                              - that's it.

By far the best phone I ever had, price is the best part of this... computer.
I like it's multimedial and connectivity options.
Battery can last up to 6 days with turning off at night and the rest is activity as always (SMS, calls, PC suite editing, camera, bluetooth and wlan connecting).

                                I give it 9/10.

For those who feel that battery life is short you can try this... press and hold the "Home" key, see what is coming out of your top left screen, you should have just one programme on standby mode which is the phone.... if you have more please try to turn it off, those are the programmes suppose to be off when you are not using it.

I hope this will help, if not....

                                        Have Fun!
