Hi Friends,
Clean the dust and buy a protective cover to cover it.
I believe we do not have to pause here for so long, let's enjoy all the good things the phone has.
I am one of the happy user for sure.

could you kindly point out who said its a lie that the dust don't go inside the screen? if such a thing was mentioned my me in 1 of my post i'm sorry and also i should point out i was talking about the phone in general. there may be a few phones which were defected from the factory. may be yours is 1 of them. too bad. i personally use a E51 and so does 7 other people whom i know who use E51 phones and they are all fine.

How can u tell me there is no dust on the screen?it´s my phone,and believe me i´m tellin the truth..
i bought this phone among firsts..and i´m not happy with it..
i´m heavy user..voice and mesaging only..no wlan,voip...yet,battery is lame..impossible to reach two days..
but wtf..go ahead,buy this phone..other people said that e51 is amazing,great,wonderphone..bla bla..

Just a comparison of E51 with E6121, I personally feel that only its WiFi & larger internal memories may stand a position, but not others, it seems like not much out of a handset. Of course my view is base on general & not hands-on tested........

1st of all i should point out that the N82 is not a business phone. its more focused on the multimedia side. to be honest with you i don't have a N82 but i know a couple of people who has and so with their permission i did some comparison of the two phones.
the camera of the N82 is excellent and its obvious because it has a 5mpxl cam.
the sounds are not that loud in the N82 but its not bad either. have to say that the sounds are much better than the 6110 navigator which i spoke about earlier.
in general both phones has almost the same software except the N82 has a few clever bits and pieces. but you cant say that E51 is no match for the N82 because the E51 is mainly focused on business. no businessman would want a cam with 5mpxl, no businessman would want such a big heavy phone with a very uncomfortable keypad...
and more importantly here in Sri Lanka the N95 and the N82 are almost exactly the same price. and i cant think why a person should buy a N82 over the N95, because the N95 has everything that the N82 has!!!! AND the N95 is much better looking. wouldn't you agree???

you will get the page of (IM + Skype)
Choose the Third one: IM+ for Skype for Symbian S60v3
It is very important that you choose the suitable version for you.

1- Not Any Update will work for your Phone. Be carfull when you use any update to check is it suitable for your phone or. To do that go to Nokia Web Site and check the latest update for your Phone. There will be risk of loosing your Phone if you install the wrong update.

The E51 Search for Lan in 2 Cases. The First one if you do it Manually. The Second one if you install a program that use WLAN and you didn't prevent this program to automaticlly connect to Internet. Programs such as (Gizmo,Fring, IM)
Also you can check if Desabled the WLAN Search by:
Press Menu>Tools>Settings>Connection>Wireless LAN>Show WLAN availability>Never
To Sohail:

1- You can not connect to internet via your WLAN because your WLAN is Secured. Check the Security on your Router.
2- I managed to Make the Security without any Encryptation by leting my 3Com WLAN Router to connect only to the Devices that I Give it their Mac Address and Prevent any other Devices.
3- Try to Desable the Security from your WLAN Router and try again. If it phone can connect to the Internet so it is a Firewall and Security Issue.

1- The Phone get warm (NOT HOT) because it use the battery alot. You have to Options. Option one is to get a phone that can not get red of the Heat but it will Hang with you when you use it. Or to get the E51 with the Staneless Still Back that get Red from the Heat (Like the Radiator in the Car) but do not hang with you. It is your Choice.
2- For Me the Hard Pressing Key are not a problem. I can live with it. But it prevent the Dust or Fluides from Entering the Set.
3- Yes Camera is Not Good. But if you would like a very good Camera do not buy a Business Mobile. You can Buy a Digital Camera or a Leisure Mobile.
4- There is no Dust ander the Screen. It is the Plastic Sheild which is easly scrached. Do not put your Mobile with your keys in the Same Poket. It will scrach it. (A very Minor Week Point).
5- I don't have any bug in my software (Till Now). I only got hanged when I tried to install a BETA VERSION OF THE SOFTWARE.
6- It is your Own Choice of what you buy. First define what do you need from your phone (Make a check List with your Prioryties) and read other people comment on the phone then you will be able to decide which phone to buy.

1- If you live in the UAE so you have to know that Skype is Banned in the Uninted Arab Emirates. You can not use it there.
2- Try to reinstall the PC Suite. But before doing that Desable your Firewall because it cause bad Installation then try the PC Suite. After that Enable your Fire Wall again.
3- There is another Program (IM + Skype) that use Skypeout but I didn't try it because you have to purchase it for 16 Euro. you can find the Program in:

Walid thank you for the info.
I have tried Skype calling computer it works. But the Skypeout (calling a land line) the call always terminates, Why? I have used my skype account and know for a fact i have credits. What would the problem be? Also I have installed the PC suite on my computer, but the program will not open, it shows me an error message. What are these update files 100.344??? not familiar with these files.
A comment to the person who Nokia sucks...your wrong. For the last 20 years I have always bought Motorola, last year I bought my first Nokia phone in Dubai, from now on I will only purchase Nokia.

to walid winura kld,
can you please help me chooseif the n82 or e51 is better.
my main concerns about the e51 are the following:
1) i read that it gets hot
2) side buttons are hard to press
3) camera not great
4)dust gets under the screen
5)paint peels of easily
6) bugs in the software for example the calander etc
my main concerns on the n82 are that:
1)the keys are too small
2) is the silver colour really that ugly?
3)and the price.
should i go for the n82 despite its higher price or is the e51 more worth it after all?

Hi Everyone,
i just bought a Black Steel E51 and Love it!
I don't know how to set up Wlan and use it on my phone. I have a Wlan router in my house that provides internet to the 3 computers in my house.
I am new to Wifi on phones. I defined my access point on my phone but when i start web browsing, the page never shows up and it says " No GAteway reply"
Could you guys please help me to use wifi on my e51?

Can any user of the E51 help me to prevent the phone from doing auto search for LAN network even after I disable it? I,m also trying to save my sms to card instead of phone memory without success. Anyone knows how?

Both phones are equally good in its own way. well starting off with the camera. both has 2mpxl cameras but the 6110 navigator has a flash. plus it has a secondary VGA camera for video calls which the E51 doesn't have.
then the screen, both has 16.7 million color displays with 240x320 resolution while the 6110's screen is a little bit bigger (2.2 inches) than the E51 (2 inches). both screens are very clear and bright.
both phones has the identical ARM 11 369 MHz processor while the 6110 has nearly 40MB of user memory while the E51 has just above 120MB of user memory. also not forgetting the 6110 has a 64 MB SDRAM memory while the E51 has a 96 MB SDRAM memory. so technically you can see the E51 is already in front of the 6110 navigator.
and now the sounds, the E51 is very very loud even though it doesn't have stereo 3D speakers while with the stereo 3D speakers the 6110 is not as loud as the E51 and also not very clear. Same story when you use the head set.
the 6110 doesn't have Wi-Fi as the E51 and thet is a huge drawback for the 6110. because who would want to spend more money on a phone which doesn't have Wi-fi, while you can buy the E51 for a lot cheaper and with all those bits and pieces.
in general both phones are almost the same with few minor drawbacks. well taking everything into consideration my opinion would be the E51 is a better phone than the 6110 if you don't care for the secondary camera and the flasher and the slightly bigger screen the 2 phones are pretty much the same.
I'm a E51 user and before buying it i did quite a fair bit of research.
oh i almost forgot, the battery life is a lot better in the E51 which a personally tested with a friend who has a E51.

New Firmware 100.44.20 dated 1-03-2008 ?????
I checked with my Nokia Center here (Singapore), they are saying the latest still 100.34.20.
