I bought this phone last year and since i have been using it,i never regret for 1 day ever buying it. I think it really worth more than the price. Please how do i upgrade my firmware. Help please!!!

i used this amazing handset fr bout 8mnthns an yr ago...i really miss it,,,it was mindblowing phone..so very sturdy...amazing...

Fantastic phone, have this phone last Apr 08. After upgrading my firmware to 400.34.011 (latest) my phone is even more faster than before from boot up to web browsing tru wifi or GRPS (3G). And im sure it will support even 32gb of memory card.
Add'l apps was Share Online and Internet Radio.
Thanks to all E51 guru esp. Original Jamaican and Winura..

Yes the E51 will work with a 16GB Micro-SD card. You can virtually use any SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) memory card in the E51. Even 32GB when it's available.
For best results upgrade your firmware to the latest because it will have better support for higher capacity memory cards among other things.
If you go ahead and get a 16GB tell me all about it and how the E51 behaves with it.
My 8GB works fast in my E51.

Winura, 19 Aug 2009OJ, thought you've upgraded to the E71 mate...WINURA my friend, I had the E71 for a few weeks. A friend of mine gave me to upgrade the firmware. We swapped phones until I got the job done. The longer I kept the E71, the longer I found myself missing my E51 so I decided NOT to bother upgrading to the E71.
There are a few nifty things in the E51 that I prefer...like the ability to see at a glance, if text messages will be sent to internal memory or memory card. I store my messages on my 8GB memory card as to keep my internal memory as free as possible.
With the E71 you will have to go to options / settings / other...then scroll to the bottom just to see where text messages are being sent to. The E71 doesn't have the icon at the top left of the screen to show you these things at a glance. That's just one of the turnoffs with the E71. Another turnoff is the very long time it takes to backup the entire phone memory. The last time I checked it was about 10 mins. whereas the E51 does it in 38 secs. Bear in mind that this test was conducted with both E51 & E71 phone memory being as free as possible with no personal files stored in either internal memory.
I know the E71 have more built-in stuff like barcode scanner etc. but speed is key nevertheless. Furthermore I can install a barcode scanner in my E51 just the same and put it on the memory card which means my internal backup will still be the same 38 secs.
Winura my next phone may very well be the E52...even though there's no dedicated contacts key...but that's another story.

hi ya u all e51 is a great phone with everthing you need i have mine now for 3months but im due a upgrade soon was looking around the last couple weeks at phones to upgrade to i was thinking of getting a iphone, nokia e55, nokia n97 or the blackbeery storm dont really like the iphone but has great features and dont like touch screen but finking of going to qwerty keypad i love my e51 would never part with i say if i got iphone i would prob sell it and keep my e51 cause im really a nokia person but i like the e55 and e75 and there again there is a e72 coming out soon really hard to pick or stay but i fink e series is going to be up or take over n series cause the e72 has 5mp cam 1st e series with gud cam but i was ready n series is nearly outa numbers and there keeping the 3 digits for the tablet (eg n810). keep up the good work ORIGINAL JAMIAICAN

Beatiful phone really, I love its vibration mode, amazing!, I can call everyone I remember the number just typing the buttons. Buy one or two just to enjoy experience!!

i agree that side buttons are major flaws. if you charge too long, the side buttons(rubber) will burn.

I live in Malaysia and I recently loss my phone. I am very interested in the E51 and had been searching high and low for the E51. Sadly, I was informed by the local authorized distributor that this phone is NO longer available. How can such a fantastic phone be gone so fast? Does anyone here know where I can get this phone in Malaysia?
