Sorry to hear about the discomfort you have been going through.
I was planning on posting a solution tomorrow morning (Saturday)...and quite a simple solution at that.
I solved it on Wednesday.
What I did was damp a paper towel. I then wiped in the earpiece crease and saw that the earpiece cloth was wet. I wiped it a few times. Now it's a loud as ever. Unbelieveable!!! I now find it hard to increase the volume past 3 or 4.
Please do that pronto and let me know the outcome.

im not able to listen calls properly when im in a crowded place i press it n listen n after few minutes my ear starts paining

I'm satisfied, I really am.
I've been seeking for a simple design with huge capabilities and this E51 has all. and by all I mean all my needs. Other might have better performance or better equipped, but who cares I don't need them.
Perhaps I'll use it until it gets really really outdated

If it doesn't uninstall through the default file manager, you'll have to install a 3rd party advanced file manager and you'll find the theme file in the installs folder. I hope you succeed. Pls reply if you succeed.

I bought this fone on firmware 100 updated it to firmware 300 cause i thought it wil make the diffs on the earpiece but there was no diff at all so i bought a new earpiece in nokia centre still no diff then i noticed 1 day when changing housings that 1 had no cover for the earpiece tried it on and the earpiece was really loud so i put the other housing back on and it was really low again so thats what made me to pt 2we holes at each side and now i have my volume at 3 any higher it sound like you have loudspeaker on thats a trick that i found out

I installed theme in my phone and save it on memory card but i dont know how to delete the other theme, i try to find it on application manager but cant find it there..please help. Thanks

Unfortunately Nokia will not likely replace it if it's out of warranty.
You may just have to wait until the next firmware gets released and nobody knows when that will be.
It's still a wonderful phone nevertheless.

Thanks for the reply, you dont have to be apologize. you said that replacing the earpiece did not fix the issue then it means its a software related issue. since i have updated the firmware, its sounds very low. do you know if this is the case what will nokia do?? will they replace the set? even if its out of warranty?

That's not the type of solution I was looking for.
When I first got my E51 it was extremely loud...so loud that most of the times I had it on level 2 or 3 for any call...and the volume goes all the way up to 10.
The ONLY time I would put it on 10 was when rain was falling very heavily OR I was in a very noisy environment, like the street.
Out of the blue one day I realised it was much lower than usual, so low I had to keep it on level 10 and it didn't sound as loud as when it was on level 3 previously.
I'm wondering if it's a software or hardware problem.
I hope it's a software glitch which will eventually fix itself.
