PLEASE HELP.
I want to buy this Nokia phone. I don't know if it will connect to college wifi hotspots and to the my wifi at home. I also want to know if the phone has IM so i can use MSN. I was earlier using Nokia's 9500 communicator & was not at all interested for a change in handset till i came across NOKIA E61i... at present i use E61i n believe me its the best business phone with all business features working absolutely good with the fone.
I must thank nokia for providing me such a nice upgrade to my existing 9500 communicator. I now use both the fones ....

well,guys why don't you try the new samsung i780?its cool and all the features are there..unlike this phone..ew! its a touch screen phone..and you will not be disappointed with t his..love it!

hi, all Nokia E61i users out there, any has encounter such problem like, whenever u wanna send a sms, u press send button n it show "text has being use already"? also, sometime after u haf sent a sms, it will stay in outbox n unable to send thru? pls help if u haf any solutions to such problem. thx a million..

If you own Nokia E-series mobile phone (E60, E61, E61i E70),
you may want to do following in order to allow phone
to install Non Certified Softwares like SmartMovie, etc:
1) Open Application Manager
2) Choose Options, then Settings
3) Switch Software installation to *All* (not Certified only)
This will allow you to install non-certified applications.

I have this phone since April 2005 (E61) Why ohh why has NOKIA not released a REAL update to the original E61? I mean what have the done for the past 3YEARS??? When you really think about it, after two years they attach a camera to the E61, I mean they could have done that from the beginning that's why the E61i is not what you call an update.
At the time when it came out, it was revolutionary, now it's too big/wide, ugly, slow, doesnt support more than 2gigs, no cam or low res cam, no radio, bad battery, the app keys on the E61i are useless, lack of internal storage, no usb, no gps.
Gosh, i mean its not like they dont have the technology to remake one. All they would need to do is reshape the N82 into a slim attractive QUARTY phone and add some security features with maybe blackbarry connect for our business folks, thats it.
Why cant they do that????? I mean there is a huge market for that, just look at how many ppl are running around with blackbarries! Nokia could own that market if they were smart!

actually i was using nokia n-series since last 1 year it's great but now i have this nokia e61i it's better than against my n-70...thanks for nokia...

@milyas: What I did to get my phone to accept all the themes was to go to the menu were you can manage (remove, view record, etc.) your programs (I've got a Dutch menu, so I don't know how it is called in your phone). Then: 'options', 'settings' and put 'software-installation' on 'all' and turn-off 'online certif. controle'. Then it should work. Sometimes you still have to play with the date, to get it done. Good luck, and let me know.

smrmr, to change language while entering text, press and hold the black "up" arrow and while holding it press and release "Chr".

I had before I-mate Jamin then when i bought that device, i was a faid of switching from windows OS to Symbion OS but i found it much more handy and usful and above all stability. the only cons issue i have is the editing execl sheets , it view the files but changing the inside equations and data is littel bit hard, else it has every feature u could seek at PDA device even more than Pocket Pc things. very good work nokia.
