[deleted post]I apologize if it came as if i meant you are fanboy. That post condensed in a reply to both you and another poster. It was meant to generalize how the typical fanboy would view that comment. I concede that you are a pretty informed poster. You've made a couple of points while trying to prove the worth of Symbian as an OS.
You say that USB OTG is what you need and that it comes with a cable adapter allowing you to connect to USB flash drives. Now this is where I fail to see your argument. You're telling me you need to carry around a cable to connect to a USB flash drive that you will also be carrying. That is highly inefficient. If that were the case why not just leave the flash drive at home, leave that cable adapter at home and just carry a normal USB cable? That way you can use the phone as an actual portable drive? Then again every other phone besides iphone is cable of doing that. I do it on my android phones. Unless the N8 comes with an incredibly slow flash chips and just transferring files between devices and your phone is pointless, I fail to see how OTG is a great innovative feature of nokia devices. If you're gonna be bringing your USB drive then it most likely mean you'll be connecting to other devices such as a PC fairly frequently is it not? So why not just leave the USB drive at home along with OTG adapter and just carry a regular USB cable? I fail to see how you need it, maybe its just me? You gotten by fine without USB OTG, and all of a sudden you "need" it?

I would love for you fanboys to prove me wrong, a statement that I can not refute as proof that Nokia has an upper hand. The only thing Nokia has on any competition is in their camera department. However most people won't even notice the difference between 6mp and 12mp on a 4" screen, but then again only the N8 has a good camera. The E7 is just a watered down camera.

The E7 maybe business oriented but how many people who's employment is critical on their ability to edit documents precisely do you believe will carry an E7 to do said task? You do know that most ultra portable laptops are in the realm of less than 4lbs and have a higher resolution with a 90% physical keyboard and with the ability to last pretty long right? You seem to be quick to jump to conclusions more than I. You say I am a Samsung fanboy because I use samsung as well as apple and htc in my comments. Yet you didn't bother to state that Nokia was the majority of the mobile devices I used for a period spanning from 2005 - This year when Galaxy S came to market. So your comment on me being a Samsung fanboy is quite ridiculous. Kallasvuo was CEO starting in 2006. Nokia became less innovative long before that my friend. Kallasvuo doesn't run the entire company. Do you honestly believe that Kallasvuo is the main reason why Symbian is a failure? Or Nokia is a failure? Thank god you're too much an i.diot and don't run any business sector. I would hate to own stocks in the company you own(since you like to jump to conclusions and started calling me an idiot, every post towards you will be calling you as such.)

Nokia competes in the smartphone market, most likely anyone buying the E7 will be looking for a smart phone capability device. So you have yet to tell me one thing Nokia has an advantage of over its competitor. Who knows, you're an i.diot who bought the samsung wave, maybe thats why you're angry. You bought a phone with an OS that has no future, much like Symbian. Is that why you're angry my friend? Tell you what, sell your BADA OS device and i'll sell you one of my old nokia phones I have lying around for super cheap. E71 would that tickle your pickle?

I’m neither a Nokia nor a Samsung/Apple fan but I do know that the E7 is better suited for certain tasks than for example the Galaxy S. Even though the E7 boasts a lower screen resolution than the Galaxy S, many people prefer editing documents on a device which comes with a real, physical QWERTY keyboard.
I know that editing documents might not be as important for a biology student like “ShameOnNokia” who has nothing better to do than trolling around as it is for a businessman who travels frequently. Admittedly, I myself, like many other people, was rather disappointed by the more recently released Nokia handsets and that’s why I’ve been using a Samsung Wave handset for quite a while now but unlike many people on this board I don’t bash on a handset that hasn’t even been officially released yet! The only Nokia phone I ever owned was one of the first Nokia phones released (5110) so calling me a Nokia Fanboy is quite ridiculous…(and btw I don’t own Nokia shares either). So it’s YOU who should learn to read, write and spell English correctly.
We live in a world where disillusioned college kids with delusions of grandeur think they know anything. And yes the CEO is to blame for Nokia’s failure as he is the one responsible for having established a “soviet-style” run bureaucracy at Nokia that stifled innovation for years. Again, companies are comprised of similarly-minded individuals that hardly change their preconceived notions. In the case of Nokia, breaking away from their soviet-like culture will be critical for their long term success. There’s no way Nokia’s committee-run design could effectively counter Apple’s user-centric approach, as Apple’s competitors have learned the hard way.
Last but not least we can only thank god, that i.diots and losers like you are not in business or economics. I seriously hope you’ll stay in your bio-lab, completely isolated from the sane and the rest of the world…

If you can point out to any flaws on the Galaxy S, HTC Desire HD, Iphone 4 that i haven't already mentioned then go ahead and be my guest. I would love to hear it as well. I would commend you. Instead of USB OTG nokia should've implemented a retractable male USB connector directly on the phone. That would've been innovative and more functional than USB OTG.

LOL and there we go again with the "its enough" to justify nokia's blatant exploiting of their user base. a 528MHz qualcomm chip is enough to run any Android device. 256MB of ram is enough to run any android device as well. If its more than enough maybe you should tell Nokia. They shouldn't have dropped Kallasvuo, or maybe Vanjoki shouldn't have resigned? OH WAIT nokia is a failing company thats why these guys had to get kicked and resigned. Their products that you fanboys are so adamant about couldn't compete and they lost huge profits and are hemorrhaging cash. How many apple ceos, HTC ceos, and Samsung CEO's got fired or resigned?
Guess what, android supports VPN connections too. So have microsoft. They've supported VPN from almost the get go.

Not all their phones are great, Diamond pro and Tilt 2 were horrible devices. HD2 was a waste because it had windows mobile, only thing that saved it is the ability to port android onto the HD2. N8 is only all about the camera, while usb on the go is completely useless/pointless and no buyer will ever want to connect usb to because the small Symbian screen resolution makes it very unpleasant to watch movies and N8 does only has onscreen qwerty wich makes it almost impossible to edit anyting on the phone, and even E7 will be useless for editing documents because of the small Symbian screen resolution.
Nokia fans are more fanatic than even IPhone fans. Nokia made the besr phones a few years ago, but since iphone and Android arrived Nokia have lost the top position for making the best phones. Symbian can not compete with Android. N8 and E7 will be the same disappointment as N97... so it is besrt if as few as possible are fooled to buy these already outdated phones. Usb on the go is useless, but Nokia had to try and invent something new that no other phone has even if it is something as useless as usb on the go.

Really, is that so? Judging from your posts you seem to worship your Samsung Galaxy S more than some people worship their gods/deities or whatever they believe in. And please don’t come up with the “I’m a graduate student and have so much time” bullsh** because when I was enrolled in college pursuing my MBA I didn’t have time for trolling around comment boards and bashing on certain mobile brands.
It’s absolutely OK not to like or promote the Symbian3 platform but why do you need to stick around this comment section bashing on other people and spreading your biased bullsh**? See, if you were a rational and mature individual you would post your opinion once and leave it for good…but it’s obvious that you deliberately and repeatedly bash Nokia because you are either paid by a third party to do so (which I seriously doubt since no company would hire an i.diot like you) or you have some serious personal issues resulting in deeply rooted inferiority complexes. Well, we can safely assume that it is the latter since you’re trolling the comments section all day long….
I know it’s pointless to discuss with a biased hardcore Samsung fanboy like you (trust me you’re anything but a “normal person”), but one last try:
- The 680 MHZ processor is more than sufficient for running Symbian3 and so is the internal RAM
- The increased weight is justified by the E7’ anodized aluminum case which feels much more sturdy than the Samsung’s cheap plastic body
- The E7 caters to the needs of businessmen and not to college kids like you (this means for example a reliable and well spaced out QWERTY keyboard, flexible VPN solutions, smooth integration with Exchange Mail, etc.)
I’d really appreciate if you could refrain from submitting your nonsense comments in the future. Last but not least I want to take the opportunity to thank Mark for his soothing words

Some people come here hoping to get opinions on devices before they purchase them. If only fanboys were allowed to make comments then there would be no such thing as a bad device. Obviously for someone whos all about innovation you're pretty clueless right? Nokia hasn't been innovative since 2005. These devices are suppose to replace many products such as camera and laptop; or so you say. Like I said, bioseen is a useless app, i'm a Biology graduate whos currently in medicine(hence why i have all the time to post comments since im knee deep in books) and let me tell you this. If any of my professors were ever going to discover a new species and SHARE it(since you say the main point of bioseen is to share information between biologist) then they would do it using better equipment. They wouldn't "blogg it" it would be published journal article with high resolution images, videos, log entries. This would be published via printed media or the internet to a reputable science site. Not shared amongst each other via text or twitter. I do have hopes for MeeGo, not because its Nokia but because its Intel. Intel can actually produce a good hardware unlike Nokia. Most probably intel is just using nokia to get the name of MeeGo out since Nokia has a strong follow (fanboys like you) once they established MeeGo, I can see Intel Selling license rights to other manufacturers such as Samsung, Motorola, HTC. HTC and samsung may very well be first on the MeeGo ship after Nokia since microsoft is definitely sue happy and Google doesn't seem to be backing android manufacturers.

Android and iOS has had simple photo editors for the longest time now, no need to mention something that's already available.

Well lets take a look, Samsung and Sony Ericcson just recently announced that they will be dropping all support for all symbian devices. A normal person like me will see this and think "oh gee, Symbian has no future left if the only manufacturer still using it will be Nokia who owns it." A fanboy like you will see it and be like "OMG this is the best! now no one but my almighty nokia can use the almighty Symbian!!! FTW". Please get over yourself, like i said, you're free to comment on any htc, samsung, motorola, apple devices here. I even encouraged you to, because I'm not an advocate for any of those brand or android/iOS. My money only goes towards the device that can give me the best performance per dollar. Nokia isn't able to do that. So lets see whats happening to Symbian yes? All other manufacturers besides nokia dropped it, Symbian-guru.com hates symbian, One of Nokia's own board member came out and publicly said that Symbian is a failure and has no future to compete. Even nokia is looking towards alternative OS in the futre: MeeGo. If Symbian^3 was as awesome as you guys make it out to be then why would Nokia need to find an alternative? Please fanboys, stop sitting on Nokia's lap and grow up. Just because you love nokia doesn't mean others will. Being a Biological Major, bioseen is the most retarded app i've ever heard of. You say its allows you to be connected and to share information on new species? Thats what the internet is for my dear. Biologist use internet to publish their findings on newly discovered species, in which high resolution photos are required, not some app on their mobile phones.

It's mostly only portable drives that can use microUSB, but then again if you're carrying around a portable HDD you're most likely going to be carrying a laptop. So please tell me the relevance of USB OTG again? I don't know about you but most places around campus have student accessible PC's. Thats the point of carrying a USB drive isn't it? So you can save your work when you're using your campus' PC.
