i think the processor is just too slow, a 60mhz for such a powerful device? i dont think so, sometimes, nokia should use their heads, no card slot? why? weird, the n8 seems to be successful, i just dont know about this giant thing, looks like a TV to me.. i dont like the n8 though, i dont like symbian devices :P

[deleted post]Sooner or later, you're going to eat all of your words. Time will come and you'll realize the need for your phone to act as a USB host.

Not unless you're going to deny it's utility, and force yourself to look for a laptop or a pc than use nokia's USB OTG.

[deleted post]Maybe, most students there, but not here.

      People like you are annoying.

N8 is all about having all innovations at one hand. Why can't you see the point? Why do you think all portables are ever invented?

You say buy dslr, buy laptop, buy everything! Ch! Why buy any feature phone at all then? If you can always have home theatre to watch movies and to hear music?

You can't edit doc? Have you seen a 360x640 screen in person? I have a 240x320 2 inches screen and i can still edit my doc whenever i have to change something.

You are all(haters) insanely annoying. You talk as if you know everything.

If there is something useless on any smartphone, that is htc's sense and it's excessive eyecandy. Hardly doesn't give any fuctionality, looks cool nonetheless, but admittedly useless.

ShameOnNokia, 30 Sep 2010You may think its them doing "great" effort. Howe... moreBioseen, and mobile photoshops are far more greater idea than apple's fart apps.

Having a bioseen app around doesn't necessarily mean you have to venture to the jungle to look for wild species. It's all about sharing informations and making all environmentalist connected, on their advocacy to save the world. Why do you think it's useless? It makes even an ordinary people like me a part of the revolution. It also offers the opportunity for people to discover something yet unknown, even by a chance. For some, they may not get be interested, but that doesn't give someone an excuse to call it useless. It makes much more sense than any apps i ever heard.

Mobile photoshop, again, doesn't necessarily as complicated as the pc version. Of course it will be simplified. The idea is to edit the pictures on the go. It will not be made to replace the traditional photoshop.

Why do i have a feeling that you can accept these ideas if it we're meant for android? Why didn't i noticed it before that you're just practically icapable of liking symbian? Or even nokia since you have no hopes for meego too? Why you're still here then?

Anyone who has bought N8 without waiting for rewievs is obviesly a hardcore Nokia-fan who never ever will say anyting bad about his newest Nokia-phone.
Symbian can not even handle larger resolution than 360 x 640 pixels so Symbian clearly sucks! It is easy to be "lagfree" when the phone never has to produce more than 360 x 640 pixels.

ShameOnNokia, 30 Sep 2010USB OTG is pretty much useless. Unless you want to carry a ... moreCompletely disagree. Maybe you don't see it's relevance but for most people, it can be one of the main reasons why we will be purchasing n8, or e7. It just simply makes a device a feature rich mobile computer.

College students like me often carry usb sticks to save files, and to view those files and edit them you need to have a laptop or a pc. Not now, because USB OTG is here. Sharing a file will be very easy. If i have a friend who wants to share me a video he saved on his flash drive night before, he can simply connect it to my usb otg compatible device and playback it right there and then.

I personally don't fancy the idea of using my phone for storing school related stuffs. Because i don't like the idea of connecting my phone again and again to the pc's cpu. It's a hassle, given the port's very incovenient locations. And for most times, i will not be carrying a laptop(or simply not taking it out of my backpack) once i have n8, and just want to read and edit the files.

Saying USB OTG is useless is like saying laptops and netbooks doesn't need to have a USB port.

The inclusion of USB OTG, is not just to solve the problem of storage and certainly not to add a useless nifty trick. Like what you are implying. I myself can't imagine my phone with a dangling cable on the side all day just for the heck of it, and certainly, we will not be using USB OTG just for the heck it. At the most desperate situations, when you are pc disabled, or you are just too lazy to take your laptop out of your back pack to do a simple file transfer, you can just have N8 around to do the job on one hand, even while hiking or sky diving :)

How about reading reviews of people who's actually has had hands on experience? Every review out there says the OS is slow and unresponsive, intomobile.com, has a couple of reviews on both N8 and E7. In both reviews they said device was slow and unresponsive. I don't know about you but have YOU owned any samsung device? I haven't owned any samsung devices in the past 4 years, my last samsung was actually a D400 and this was in 2004. The galaxy S has been my first Samsung device ever since 2004 and so far I have not had any complaints about it. Instead of saying "people i know says it sucks" go get yourself a samsung and then come by and tell me when you've had experience. I've had experience with almost every major company out there, I've owned several nokia high end phones, SE P1i, HTC g1. I've never had any problems with any of my phones, not even Nokia has given me problems besides the hardware limitation. First you say Symbian as an OS is best, then when i discredit your statement you say "don't rely on OS, rely on phone manufacturer". Make up your mind if you want to form an argument.

just dont bet on operating system. Samsung may has a good operating system but it makes the worst quality mobiles. Their built quality is so poor. Almost every one i know having a samsung product complaint of its poor quality. More over they dont even give satisfactory after sales support. After buying a $500 device what i am gonna do with the operating system if the phone is not working. With nokia in my hand i am very much satisfied. If there is any good company making a good android phone with proper after sales than my obvious choice is android otherwise nokia symbian 3 is the best. It is new fresh faster more feature rich and its a NOKIA.

Do you really think the companies putting together mobile phones for Nokia will do it any differently for say HTC or Samsung? In fact iphones are assembled in China as well, so far most of the people I know with an iphone 3GS is happy, their phones still work the same as when they got it on launch day. My friends with an HD2 is still happy as well.

Where as the N900 is a multimedia mobile device designed to keep you connected. It has basically push updates to most social networking sites on the go. This is basically the main reason why android uses so much power. Its constantly connecting to servers to check for updates. You say Symbian has the most features? name some features that most other mobile OS don't? Customization? You obviously never heard of jailbreaking an iphone have you?

no doubt android is beating symbian in os race. But just see who companies are using android. . . If you have lots of money and can switch between latest phones fast than you can surely buy a samsung or htc. Nokia gives a reliable product. They gives the best after sales. And now nokia is back in competition. Android may be a good os but it cant make a reliable phone. Its the manufacturer who makes it. Is there any competition for nokia in this race ? If you are a die hard fan of android than wait few more. . . Market is gonna flooded with cheap dirty chinese handsets running on android. And classy fashionista go for nokia, the real phone brand. The brand will speak itself.

More rational individuals look at things like features(symbian in no1), capabilities(symbian), usability(android), customizability(symbian) and battery life(symbian). The iphone is for teenage american girls. Its useless. Its not even a smartphone by definition.

                                    . . . . . . . .
