impressive design and specs, unfortunatly resolution (so small on big 4") makes me doubt about text readability. And that is suposed to be main purpose of that device. I might change my mind when i have some hands-on experience.

This phone looks cool, i've seen the review in youtube and it was not that bad afterall. I think I'm going to buy this phone if the it's not overprice, because my Samsung i780 suddenly stopped working.

Ive had several nokias, 6230 6120 classic 6110 navigator, E66 E71 5800 xm N78 N79 N97 and now im sitting with a N97 mini which i like alot and a E52, ive never really had any major problems with the phones, just minor things, guess we all dont have the same luck, i see everyone is comparing the Cpu speed, the ram, memory, OS, screen size screen materials camera of the N8 E7 C7 etc, we can talk talk and talk and criticise and say this and that but we have to experience the device for ourselves before we can make a proper judgement, but whens all said and done i think these new nokias will be awesome, 680mhz processor with a graphics accelerator, 256mb ram, Symbian 3 operating system and a host of other improvements should really make a big difference and it should be enough, and im sure these devices wont dissapoint like the N97 did before the software updates, once the latest software updates were done on these phones they werent bad at all and the applications were decent enough, although they will improve and bring out much more new applications with these devices, ive played around with blackberry 9700 bold, HTC desire, I Phone 3GS, they nice phones but they dont really offer that much over what nokia has in MY opinion, and im sure with these new devices and future ones the tables will be turned! NOKIA RULEZ!

Also, if nokia's software fail to impress someone like you. Why not gave it's hardware possibilities some thought.
I heard that nokia is planning to put a smell detecting hardware(?) on the mic. The thing is still on research though.
Some might think it's ridiculous, but as nokia itself says, they are a phone manufacturing firm aimed at connecting people, they made long lasting hardwares at its best. They're certainly not a software company. But with stephen elop as the new ceo, things might change.

ShameOnNokia, 28 Sep 2010going by your logic, then so can android, ios, windows mobi... moreI'm just saying that symbian isn't presenting natively the features you have said symbian has copied. Because they can't see its relevance. Like the conversational view of sms. They gave the responsibility of doing so to the developers. But since the public is now demanding of those things to be injected on the Ui, because of the trend made by apple, they follow suit.
Copying can't be avoided these days (The first smartphone is made by nokia btw) Yes nokia copied too. But it's not like they are denying it.
If they are the best or not, the hell i care. As long as it does what it supposed to do, i'm still going to buy the phone i like(not necessarily nokia, i like samsung wave too). And as far as my history of using nokia is concerned, i never experienced any problems like most western people are complaining. (Asians get their nokias from china-based factory btw) And from there, you'll see why i always try to understand nokia's logic on processors, screens, and rams I never had problems with nokia. (i never had n97)
At the end of the day, it's people's individual preferences that counts.

Jos, 29 Sep 2010And this device, it doesnt hav that E-series feel it looks ... moreHow can it be a " Nokia N8 mini pro? " There is nothing mini about the E7, dimentions or specs. It will be better if they called it N8 pro OR N8 Messanger. Its really more of an N-series device, even the body is like an N8! If it has a stainless steel body, then it will be a real E-seires device. Right now, the colors available don't look to business orientated to me. I think its a sahme Nokia called it the successor to the E90 Communicator. THat was a legendary device, and about 3 year later they have down-graded. Tisk tisk tisk.

ShameOnNokia, 28 Sep 2010sure you can view it as me promoting the Galaxy S, because ... moreGalaxy S is not set for international release. Unlike wave.
It has something to do with the digits in models i think, all samsung 4-digit models are released internationally. And available for retail. Some are released only through service providers, but not sure when, or if it's ever going to happen.

TC, 28 Sep 2010Can Symbian handle larger reslution than 360x640, if it can... moreOf course it can! Remember that first smartphones(symbian) only have 240x320 display resolutions. Then it jumps to 640x360, what makes you think it can't support larger resolutions than that?
Why they use 640x360?
-So that all symbian devices will have the same resolution and it will resolve the issue of incompatibility of later apps made for first nokia touch phones running symbian^1.
-(Maybe) Because 640x360 is half of 720p screens ideal for watching hd videos.
-(Maybe) Because their next screen resolution jump will be 1280x720. For meego, symbian^4 or ^5
for now, i have a feeling that all symbian devices will only sport a 640x360 display. If you don't like symbian just because of the resolution, then, it's not the OS for you. E7's definitely not the phone for you either. Better go to other page than comment on a phone you don't even like.
