The camera is not the best, but mine is very fast. Sure you have a bad one. Things can only get better for you! :-)

This phone is the best phone mankind has ever made to date. It's literally invincible when it comes to communication and software compatibility, just give it time and it will open up its opportunities! I use it to ssh to my server, irc-chat on remote screen, browse the web, play sega genesis and nes roms with emulator, control the tv and stereo with the ir-port, navigate in traffic, call skype calls, you name it, this phone can do it all and more too. The keypad is compact and slim but it's really effective and given some time you will write way faster than any generic t9-device, the shortcut keys are logical and everything is customizable, and with the 369mhz processor and 128mb of memory it runs like a dream.. Buy it, this is as close to communication perfection you'll get.

Purchase date: 28-09-2008.
The ability to make software updates online, full fledged connectivity, internet calls (voip), push email,schedule themes and profiles; streaming media, Maps/ GPS, weather updates,2-8MB memory card make this phone outstanding. Of course some of these features are provided by third party applications.
Battery problems after charging: don't press any buttons when you unplug the charger before the screen light goes out. If you do, allow 3 minutes and the phone will boot when you press the power key. The inbuilt browser is so slow and downloading is a problem. I think updates may remove these bugs. The phone will hung sometimes when some third party applications are run. Otherwise it is the future in mobile telephony.

Sasha39, 09 Oct 2008This is the whorst device i ever head, before i was in an E... moreyes you re right, i bought it one week before and many times i faced same problem phone gives system error and i should take out battery to reset it, and also yesterday while i wanted to use pre installed talking dictionary i could not find the short cut of it i think it deleted automaticly, i saw the aplication in memory card and shown as installed but i could not find short cut and i could not reinstall it..

Camera Very Bad, Sometimes 'Lag' when capturing Picture. I`ve used E61i Before, the "Copy-Paste" function in E71 not be compatible with some task anymore :( make my work little late.

when i connect the e71 to computer using pc suite, initially only my phone memory is detected. Messages settings also change automatically to phone memmory... it is only when i change message settings to memory card, that PC suite shows my memory card....why is that???? anyone else face the same?
any solutions??

This is the whorst device i ever head, before i was in an E61 with 100% satisfaction. I got this E71, new, in box from Orange. This, first have software problems, frozen from time to time and is need to pull out the batery for reset (no reaction in on/off button). Camera have the same software problems, no activation from flash at "always on" flash set and it take more then 5 seconds to get a pictures, i mean when i press the button to get a pictures i get the camera sound then is need to wait 5 second when the display is black, then get the pictue. I was at Nokia custom suport, i wait more then an hour and they got me instalat again the operation system, the same wich was release the phone because they dosen't have a new firmware. After 24 hours the same problems.
Second, i got ALOT of dust under plastic display. When the light display is off i see all this dust especialy on the corners of display. Please think very very well before get this E71 series.
Now all what i have to do is to wait a new firmware release to see if the problems will go after do this firmware update. Taka care follkjs
