I've had the nokia e71 for a couple of weeks now and it's definitely an amazing phone.
Things I like:
-Wi-fi
-QWERTY keyboard
-GPS
-Can setup internet telephone calling
-Symbian
-business vs. personal phone mode
-battery life
-phone design
-display
-call quality
Room for improvement:
-Camera (it's not terrible but it's nothing to write home about either)
-Headphone jack (your regular earbud headphones won't fit)

hey all e71 users!
I simply fell in love with this phone when I first saw it, really thinking of getting one.
Can anyone share what's the downside of using symbian rather than microsoft mobile? this is my biggest dilemma.
Also, can anyone share whether their quick office files are compatible with microsoft word and excel in regular computer? Do we need special software to convert the files, or it it compatible in nature?
Thanks all, please share your experiences!
cheerz...

Here is my mini review of the E71. I have used the phone for several weeks now coming from n95 8gb. I will make direct comparisons of the 2 phones for people who want to make the switch.
Ergonomics and built quality:
this is where the e71 shines brightest. Just hold the phone in your hands and you will know that its built to last. I can finally say with pride that it equals the quality of an iphone. The n95 is a plastic toy compared to this phone. The keypad is great but needs getting used to. I have big hands so I use my nails to type. My technique has improved so much that I'm writing this review on my E71
Multimedia and camera
in simple words, it gets the job done. There is no comparison with n95 here as the e71 is not a multimedia centric phone. I watch a lot of video on phones and I have noticed that this phone is not meant to watch divx movies. There is noticeable drop in frame rates and the whole video lags. Divx movies played brilliantly on the n95. the e71 does play mpeg4 fine though but divx quality is much finer. The same goes for gaming graphics. A much more satisfying experience on the n95.
I have heard a lot of people on the forums moaning about the camera on the e71, in reality its not bad at all. You just need to improve your photography skills to get the best out of this camera. Of course it comes nowhere even close to n95 where camera performance is concerned. Its just not as bad as some people are suggesting.
Display
in a word, brilliant! I seriously don't miss my n95 as far as display is concerned. Bright vibrant colors and great sunlight legibility. Videos and photos look great. Its a bit smaller but still the best.
Battery life
great battery life, a welcome change compared to the n95. Finally a sensible phone with a sensible battery. I can easily get 3 days out of it with really heavy use. Awesome!
Connectivity
again great! Wifi and gps much improved over the n95. I can get much quicker gps lock on the e71 and it keeps the lock even indoors. The n95 cannot do that plus its gps lock was much slower. However I am disappointed with the data transfer rate via usB. This is where both the phones are on the slow side. Comeon nokia we need faster transfers.
Sound quality
the e71 speaker for voice calls is great. I would say its even better than n95. The call quality is crisp and loud. Simply great. The loudspeaker is also good although not as good as the stereo speakers on the n95. Still you will miss any calls. The provided earphones are also a welcome change to the pathetic ones packaged with the n95. I always found people complaining that they can't hear me when I used the earphones on the n95. No such issues with the e71.
All in all I'm loving the e71. It gets a lot of attention when I take it out in public and that wasn't something I enjoyed with the n95. I do miss the great camera and multimedia features of the n95 but I can make the compromise. Just holding the e71 in your hands is satisfying enough!

Last week I bought the Nokia E71 from HongKong Nokia Shop for HK dollars 3800 ( USD 490 ) This is the 28th Nokia I have owned in my life, I could say its the BEST!!!
Excellent Built quality, high quality case and key pad, excellent display and all the functions are really good!! Good battery life too.
Negative side, slightly heavy and Mega pixels are not enough, anyway mobile phones aare not digital cameras!!! Remember this mobile is for educated persons and not for blue collar workers, so please do not complain and be negative about this great phone by Nokia!!
If you want to buy it, please do so!!! I can gurantee that you would be fully satisfied!!
