1). I'll take function over size any day (I already loathe the razrs and their breed of copycats)
2). Touchscreen is way overrated (yes you too Iphone)
3). Symbian s60 dances all over WM5 (maybe, just maybe WM6 might stand a chance, doubtul though)
----My only wish would be if Nokia had implemented some sort of lens cover (eg Nokia N95, SE P990) as seeing the beautiful 3.2mp lens will be smudged while in the 'open' form----

Hey - does anybody know why all Nokia communicators come without vibration mode? I love these phones but the missing vibration option really bothers me. Is e90 again without it? Pls somebody let me know. Thanks a lot!

Well done guys. At least we have intelligent comments in this column compared to couple of days back where the words sucks here and sucks there were repeatedly echoed!!
To be honest, I have never used a Symbian based communicator but currently I have HTC Dopod 838Pro with WM5 operating system, running at 400Mhz CPU and 64mB shared RAM.
I am not sure how E90 can handle multi-pages web during surfing as the CPU is approx. 350Mhz and also incorporating shared RAM.
I would love to have the E90. At least it has a wider inner screen compared to my Dopod for a full view of any web-page without scrolling sideways.

This is a heavy brick!
No memory no hard drive!
No touch screen!
Two lousy scree! Non of them large enough for NET, email, or documents.
This is a Retro phone - it should be monochrome.
I wonder what CPU it has - Z80?

if a phone has a big size doesn't compromise the hardware and software quality of the device then i can't see any problems of that other than having good slim design with all that sucking hardware and software issues. hope users get my point. always remember that there can't be everything in perfect. but if the quality is very good so what for E90's size?

Also, i-mate and Nokia are very different phones, from their OS, to their hardware, to their physical shape. They are meant for different consumers. And personally, I like the Nokia's better, at least they still manage to look like phones, not like mini laptops.
Also, the E90 is basically a new communicator, I think it even says that on the Nokia website. There are a couple differences between them, such as a decent camera, vibrate function, and a better screen. I'm not sure whether this one will feel heavy, but I am currently using the E60 and will probably wanna take a look at the dummy of this one before I get it because, I agree, 210g is a bit heavy for a pocket, especially in a world of anorexic phones :)

I agree that Nokia should have added a touch screen to the E90, but at the same time, that would have made the phone somewhat heavier and possibly slightly bulkier. As well as the price would have gone up and the battery life down. Also it would make the phone a bit slower (which could be solved with a faster processor, again, reducing battery life). So would I have been happier with a touch screen? Yes. Am I upset that they didn't include one? Its a compromise.
Also, the regular Nokia's are somewhat cheaper, generic models that may not always be as feature-rich as the N or E class. The E class is Nokia's Business line of phones, which is now taking over the communicator line-up. And the N class is Nokia's multimedia line-up of phones. You can see this by every N class including a decent camera while the E class could use a slightly better camera, and a flash unit. Of course this is arguable with the introduction of the Navigator and the 5700, but when comparing to the E90, the N93, N95, N91 8GB, I think the evidence is clear.

What is the different between the simple Nokia with N class and E class? I used to use 9500, it's good for me but when I used for long time it's seem too big and heavy.

I have good experience in the old communicators , if NOKIA will keep insisting on the small screen and No touch , I would realy advice you to buy other brand
I mate is more comfortable and the price is more reasonable .
But to be fare the camera if I-mate is not that much ,
Take care

anticipated to be a great min business tool but seriously they would have included a touch screen to make it more user friendly and fast.
