I got this phone recently (my device has wp Amber). I also had the question when charging/device on/off. Telephony performances excellent, superb built quallity - (obviouslly no need to comment about the camera)- smooth os. The surprise however comes from the link below, in which agree completelly. Very smooth and lag free. The camera is great, of course that is the reason to buy this device for the most people. So in that case, go for this phone. I don't found many disadvantages, maybe for some the bump on the back is annoying, personally I don't care much about it. And when the phone is charging, it's always turned on, there's no way to turn the device off during the period of charging. And there's no seperate volume control, but that is coming with the WP8.1 update soon. All in all, there are far more advantages of this phone than disadvantages. I am sure you will have fun with this device and it's awesome camera.

It doesn't lag and the important apps are available. You won't regret

i want to buy this smartphone. i don't give a damn whether this smartphone isn't IOS nor Android, one thing i really want is the camera and i don't want a type of smartphone inclined to steady, unresponsive or hang. comparing this to galaxy s4 zoom, xperia z1 & iphone 5s & etc, can somebody tell me is it good to buy this when it comes to camera? and what are the disadvantages of using this?

Nokia was a great phone, with excellent hardware. I have been using 1020 since last year. The new software is horrible such as no switch off for notifications, no battery saver app, no real time battery updates, orientation always confusion in app, poor battery, battery sucking camera grip etc. Stay away from Windows Phone. Wait for 5 years, when the OS becomes on par with atleast Symbian.
I know why everyone's telling its a great phone, because they spend there hard earned cash on it. For once we should accept our mistake, and move on to other OS.
Note, to use it as a camera only. Its great Camera (not phone).

Crappiest phone ever. I can see all the pixels on the phone(Pen-Tile screen), camera is good but not great, audio is terrible, processor came directly out of mid-2012, and the phone has extremely thick side bezels and is 158 grams! I used one in an atnt store and all it did was lag. The screen was dim and was pixelated with viewing angle and sunlight legibility issues.
