does anyone firmly know whether this phone can recv OS updates to future releases, say WP8 and beyond. I use s60 devices that can't get Anna or Belle updates, dont want to be stuck like that. I would prefer buying a Belle phone instead if that's the case.

The only difference is the name, its no longer iTunes but Zune. Same thing, and same result: U cant use ur own files, u will be tied in and have to pay for everything u will put onto this fone.
Yes, they copy iPhone, not design or tech, but ecosystem. A strategy to lock you in and make you do things THEIR way.

Me and lotsa others said that before Bada was available in stores, "there will be no updates, der will be no software, samsung has never cared abt fixing bugs and will not do it this time also". This was publicly known, you knew it also.
Now its time to warn ppl also about Nokai+WP, this is not gonna be a happy story, its gonna be bad. Dont think of what Nokia did in the past, this is the new Nokia we are dealing with, Elops Nokia in bed with Microsoft. Nothing good will come out of this. Feel free to buy Lumia but be prepared to regret. Windows Mobile OS has proven too many times in the past that it doesnt have the right of life.

Look at HTC desire series and Sony Xperia, do they look anything like iphone? not outside and not in the UI. And motorola droids, any resemblance to iphone? No.

And for me its attractive and good looking too .. And i think it might be a great advantage for it to succeed .. And between don't say bada is a good OS .. Because i am one poor soul using bada phone(s8500) and suffering .. Its very laggy and no updates too ..

800 dosnt have one coz they want u to buy everything from them and not share it with others, u shud use Zune, they dont want u to just transfer your mp3 collection. Wait and see, u will regret if u buy one.
This is a seriously restricted unit that will make iphone look liberal =)
