N82 E71 6620C 5320xm has 128mb ram N79 has just only 96mb ram is it i'm right?

Nokia User, 26 Jan 2009I want to buy a new N series phone. Am stuck up between N79... moreyes the n82 camera is better but only because of the xenon flash and this is the only big difference between the two phones (the other two are the 3d accelerator in n82 and fm transmitter in n79 but i don't think they are so important), on day light i personally don't see any difference between the two cameras, the keypad on n79 is definitely better and that's why i choose n79 and not n82 cause i write a lot of sms messages so if you want good pictures in any environment get n82, if you want lighter phone with better battery and keypad, and newer os get n79

if you like n82why you in n 79 forum lol i would not have n82 even if somone gave it me for free , and software no problem i downloaded new sofware no problem doh lol i think what your saying is you are not dew for an upgrade yet lol

the only advantage of N79 is its new interface and FM transmitter.....
but its disadvantages are many....its much slower then N82.... secondly its camera is very bad and worse in indoor usage..... it also has software issues currently....
my suggestion to you is that if you want best camera and software phone then go for N82....
and if you want a new interface with less softwares and can live compromise camera then N79 is for you..

pooni, 24 Jan 2009hi the theme is not reflecting in application managerSame thing happened to me. Themes i downloaded didnt appear in app manager. Its because i saved it in my memory card, maybe you did the same. This what you should do, download the same theme again but this time save it on your phone memory. What will happen is that the theme save in mmc will be overwrite by the theme in phone memory and it will appear in app manager. Try it. I hope i was a help.

I want to buy a new N series phone. Am stuck up between N79 & N82...keypad for n82 is very think while i have read the reviews that camera for n79 is not good as n82...being on other side of the counter i wud want all the features in one pack..
Any expert kindly suggest...N79 or N82

hey guys i hav heard about n 79 camera performance people say that its camera is not so good as compared to n 82 . Is this true ?

All those criticizing the N79, in favor of the N82 i think you guys are just being ignorant and haven't done enough research. In my opinion being fon fanatic and having had both phones I think the N79 has an overall performance than the N82 period.

well had this phone a week now and its the first nokia that ive had in the last 4 years that does not creak or groan its really well built buttons are nice to they dont feel sloppy like there going to fall off this phone lets me surf the net with ease batt life is good signal is good it holds on the the signal when my 6220 classic has lost its signal , sound is good the look of the phone is nice to its not to bulky like n s phones used to be , its good for business aswell as games, where before they used to be to big eg for the games i think never thought i would ever own a n s phone but have to eat my words and say i really like this phone and its features , and as for updating the phone i got a text as soon as i turned it on to say they is new sofware out , so i downloaded that with ease , its never crashed on me , and when i turned it on for the first time nokia said when o bought it to let the batt run low , well there where 2 bars on it and it took 11 hours to run flatt and i watched 20 mins of my videos, when it went flatt charged it for 12 hours now the battery life is excellent, as for me i really like the key pad ,and as for the person who has tried to put the new sofware on did you get this phone on contract or simm free , i bought mine simm free , but when they are on contract the phone is altered so you cannot upgrade untill your network says you can hope that helps so like i said really like this phone .

Hello guys, I have just bought this lovely Nokia N79 3 weeks ago. And all I can say is that, it's a nice mobile phone.
I came from a Nokia N82 Silver. Well...
Advantages:
1. The N79 has a newer version of the UI as compared to the N82.
2. The battery is slightly better than the N82.
3. Camera layout is even better because I have the chance to configure the settings that I want to be displayed.
4. Sleek, small and stylish.
5. FM Transmitter has a nice sound quality.
Disadvantages:
1. Camera quality truly isn't even close to the N82 (especially Night photos wherein the photos are whitish and colors are unnatural).
2. VGA 30FPS video quality is not as good as compared to what the N82 can pull of.
3. Audio quality is good but it's not great and nothing spectacular.
I'll just tackle the disadvantages. The number one disadvantage is the not-so-good 5 megapixel camera. Well, I should say that it's not that bad on daylight. In fact, it's decent during the day. But when the night falls, there you will find it to be disappointing. It's got a whitish color on the night photos. And the dual LED flash performance isn't even close to the N82's Xenon flash. Another thing to note is that, colors are unnatural when compared to the night photos taken from the N82.
Then second, the video quality. Well, this is actually my greatest disappointment. It's like N79's VGA 30FPS is only equal to the N82's QVGA 30FPS. Well, you probably won't get what I'm talking about if you just watch the videos taken from your N79 on your N79's screen. But by the time you connect it to a TV via a TV out cable, there you will understand what I'm saying. It's REALLY obvious that the N79 has got poorer video quality than the N82 by the first time you watch the videos taken from the N79 on a TV. Go figure out!
And finally, the N79's audio quality. Well, yeah right. I expected a heavy improvement with the Audio quality of the N79 as compared to the N82 because some forum members are utterly exaggerated that the N79's audio quality is as good as the N91. The Audio Quality figures published on this site don't even do justice because in reality, the N79's audio lacks bass. Now don't get me wrong here. You can still hear a bass on the N79's audio and its quality is still decent. It's just that, the N82's audio quality on its version 30.0.019 firmware introduced some real ground-breaking improvements on the N82's sound quality and obviously at that v.30 firmware, the bass became extremely strong (fingers crossed), way much stronger than the N79's bass. Moreover, the advantage is that, the N82's extremely strong bass never distorts or creaks or whatever you call it.
So that's it guys, don't take those disadvantages that I've listed as an offence. It's just that, the N82 have really exceeded my sky limit of expectations from a mobile phone.
Seriously, I felt some sort of a downgrade when I sold my N82 for a N79. Now I regret my decision! So no choice.
Overall, if one of the readers of my post today is a current N82 user, I suggest you (N82 user) to look elsewhere or wait for a true N82 successor if you don't want to feel downgraded.
Otherwise, if you are new to the world of NSeries and you're planning to get a 5 megapixel cameraphone for the first time, N79 will just do for you provided that you are not setting your expectations too high, most especially on the camera and video department. After all, if you never had a N82 before, you probably won't be as disappointed as I am today.

as, 24 Jan 2009Of course N79 is beter The cpu in the N78 and N79 is the same, but N78 has 96mb ram, and N79 only has 50mb ram.
Menu and operating speed seem very much the same between N78 and N79, but using zoom in the gallery is MUCH slower on the newer N79 . This must be because the N79 has half the ram that the N78 has.
In short: N78 is faster than the N79 , but this can only be noticed when zooming in the gallery.

When I try to update my phone's software, an error appears and it says that there is something wrong with their servers.
