hey guys
am thinkin of buyin the N8,but i hav 1 ques....
since its a new phone, has anyone faced any serious problem yet, either software or hardware!!!??? thanks

i still often get out of memory errors when playing thru HDMI cable to tv? ANYHOW its the best sounding mp3 player ive heard since cowan music player i had in 2005 .I use the same songs since 1984 and up to date ,ALL cd..The detail spacioucness and stereo seperation are the best ive heard in a long time.
This is one serious bit of kit and as for battery,well,absolutly no problems and in uk its now 329GBP at tesco. so its a gem but will a 4inch clear black display win title? for me the xenon and auto focus and memory card slot mean i will never know,plus,its gonna cost nearly twice as much as n8.

It's true that some Android phones (Not all) are faster in terms of responsiveness and web browsing. But a good smartphone is more than that.
To me, i like N8's camera.
The video recording is also superb. I don't think any Android phones can compare to N8 in term of video recording.
The sound recording quality also is way better.
Apps wise, there are loads of apps in OVI store. But i only downloaded those really useful to me which are really really cool. I don't think i need more apps. So what's the point if Android have more apps?
I also like N8 because the interface are highly customize with loads of themes. I also can choose SPB mobile shell if i want.. but i don't need it rite now cause i really like Symbiam^3 interface.
The USB otg function also come in handy for me.
So, all in all, i think N8 is the best smartphone i ever have. :)

gitty, 10 Dec 2010I had restarting problem with my N8 then got a replacement ... moreman what has been happening to you is really disheartening...i hope this time you get a unit that has no issues...you have been most persevering...good luck to you..

I had restarting problem with my N8 then got a replacement from nokia care ! After a week itz speaker stopped working! I guess they are giving faulty and used N8's as a replacement ! I will go for the nokia care for the 3rd time ! I am very sad and helpless !

Dear N8 followers, breaking news is that N8 has a best camera when it comes to photography, but video is not upto mark. Thats it...here N8 edge gets over and other gadgets on market take over. I am using it for a few days now and surely will sell it off by next week. I tried playing mp4 videos and noticed a lag and tearing in frames. My Blackberry Gemini plays videos much better than N8. Android rules right now and Samsung Galaxy S wins in every department expect photography. Super Amoled huge screen, Storage and processor power and thousands of free apps on Android market...Will get it by next week. Friends have you ever thought why mobile pioneers are rolling out Android models one after another...Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG and now computer Giants like Acer, Dell and Asus are rolling out bigger screens and powerfull specs with Android base....Think about it...You will one day find the answer.

There is no limitaion as regards screen resolution in symbian. The nokia e90 had a 800 x 480 screen or so. i don't think n8 users would appreciate being isolated with an unusual screen resolution. Neither would the developers. Its not like nhD is not adequate. You guys are just making a noise.

Let's see if you can explain your hypothesis with a logical reasoning so as to why a snapdragon (A8 cortex) would perform similar to an Arm 11 proc running at twice the clock frequency..

Remember that when comparing arm11 to snapdragon or cortex A8 you can cut the clockspeed roughly in half to compare them. So a 350Mhz snapdragon has similar performance as Arm11 at 680. Its like Intel Corei7 vs Pentium 4, the Pentium 4 has the clockspeed but is many times slower.
Unfortunately Nokia can only use A8/snapdragon in the RX family, units like N900 and the upcoming N9, since those dont run Symbian OS. Symbian has compatibility issues with modern processor, and thats the only reason Nokia use Arm11 for N8. And the only reason they use solow resoultion for N8 is alo a Symbian limitation. Nokia got stuck in a dead end street and is not trying to back up a bit and fidn another way through, they keep banging against the obstruction called Symbian.
