Kidding aside, I'm getting more and more tempted to get an N8. It's getting harder and harder for me to wait for MeeGo. It's the superb camera and the all aluminum body that's drawing me. Must resist...

So if you're shooting, say, forests or leaves, the image sizecan go upto 4MB. Again, in extremely low light (where the sensor can't pick much details) the size may be as low as 500KB. And what do you mean you haven't found any info regarding this? Damian has said it numerous times. You could've also checked the review!

I ha... moreThe photos are 1mb and more dependant on lighting conditions etc but they can go as much as 2mb as i have noticed on some of pics. I have been using the phone to take some pictures at work and they have been great. Mind you, i have set the camera at just 9 mp. The photo's are still big at about 1 mb but they still look great. Clarity is mind blowing and when it comes down to detail, that is when this phone shows it's stuff. No phone can shoot pic's to this quality, not even close to it. I love it.

bought N8 yesterday for my sister, i must admit it is not bad like others say it to be. the camera is superb (video and still)though s3 is great, i needs more refining. usb otg is really usefull, it is quick but not as fast as my N900 hehehe. btw, i got a french version for $540 and it's worth it :)

I ha... moreDude, 12 megapixel does not mean that the size (in kB or MB will be fixed). It just means that it will be a 4000x3000 pixel image as mentioned in the specifications page on gsmarena. The rest depends on the compression levels and optimisations done in the software.
The photo should be around 2-3 MB is what I can guess. I am not an N8 owner. But just googled and found out.

@vijay : Go for N8, cause it has so much more to offer than iphone! 16gb plus memory card, real 3G videocall (iphone only through wifi), usb on the go,hdmi,superb cam, brilliant audio quality,excellent screen,responsiveness and build quality (aluminium)...the cpu @ 680 mhz is very much ok, the phone is not laggy at all, it's very fast, mine is loaded with apps and themes and it runs very smooth.i phone is just an ipod that is able to make telefon calls and download varius apps from apple store.it's nice as a gadget but that's all...

That is of course if you actually need a smartphone. If you don't actually need widgets, good notification system, don't want to transfer files to / from your phone, don't care about multimedia capabilities, don't actually need to call anyone etc. then by all means go iPhone. It is quite a lot more fun than Sony PSP ;)

Camera superb.
Music sound Excellent
Battery life 3-4 days Active Power saver mode,
Screen Resolution is good for outdoor with sunlight legibility,
Games HD NFS No hang and laggy, more coming HD games for symbian3 like avatar,hero of sparta and etc..
Internet browser not so good but nokia promised it has a new firmware for browser this coming december 15,
GPS is work for 3G and wifi connection Nokia said free lifetime GPS, but my regular load to my simcard will eat, when i set in offline mode GPS not working. So i never used my GPS now because my load to my network sim will eat,
Yes is slow processor but n8 is super fast and responsive,
Yes N8 is low resolution but good in outdoor,
N8 is complete spec and features HDMI,USB otg,FM transmitter, 16GB built in memory+expandable microsdhc up to 32gb, camera is the 12MP with xenon flash,Gorilliaz Glass display,Aluminum Anodized Body.
i bought my n8 last dec 1 color orange until now i've never encountered hang and laggy, My n8 is fully loaded of thousand of songs to my internal memory, plus i have 16gb microsdhc class 4 with fully loaded 50 movies mp4,avi format and its also support divx and xvid.
My N8 Remaining internal memory 200MB fully loaded with no hang and laggy,
My N8 Remaining microsdhc 350MB fully loaded movies with no hang and laggy.
If you doubt to buy n8, its better to go first to any nokia store is free to see the case on demo unit of nokia n8 try it and explore before you get your own, Promised N8 is the best it is worth to buy, dont listen to other peoples here said bad comments againts to n8...

I have been using N8 right from 25th Oct and am very much happy with my purchase and its worth for the money paid and even more. Even an iphone user who have used iphone for past 1 yeah had an hands on my moble and told that the mobile is good.
But one kind advice dont install any of the S60V5 sofwares or Kaspersky Mobile Security(KMS) it will make the phone to get restart.

Hey people. Just handled an I phone 4. Great device. Really great BUT I still have to rate my N8 above it. The friggin thing doesnt even support java. No radio. What the hell! Way over-rated and overpriced for what you get. Plus the guy has it wrapped in multiple layers of 'clothing' because, as GSM arena once stated it is 'the most breakable' smartphone. I stopped short of throwing my N8 into the wall as a means of boasting. Iphone 4- still a great device but face to face with the N8, names and biases aside, the N8 rules. No apologies.
