I bought an N8 on last October and using it since then.I find it really handy and amazing.Given that glitches are there but for a normal user it is really overwhelming to have such a cool phone.Snaps and videos taken are top of the notch.Battery life is ok enough.I am saying it because when it travel to my native,i pair it with Dell BH200 bluetooth earphone for music, all through out the journey(11 hours !).SPB mobile shell will give additional 5 screens along with already existing 3 screens .Multi tasking is cool and effective.Real time Mail syncing is not happening as of now and the touch screen is not as impressive as iphone's.Apps availablity is not comparable with itunes or android market.

If Amazon is able to ship to your country, buy your N8 from them. You can get either a replacement or return for a refund within 30 days. Just make sure Amazon is the seller, not some other 3rd party sellers (less hassle if returning or replacing the handset)

So to add to your point: IT IS JUST A SMALL PORTION OF UNITS. Not every unit guys. Please ensure that if you do get this phone, test it thoroughly in the 1st 7 days of receiving it. You should be able to return it within the 7 days if there are problems as long as you dont do anything like hack it or mod it. Subject it to hours of use to identify flaws and any hint of failures, take it back. Whenever you take the phone back and receive another in its place, the 7 day ruling starts all over again from the moment you receive the replacement unit. Nokia would back it up especially if it is an inherent build quality problem that they are aware of. Again guys, IT IS A SMALL PORTION OF PHONES AND CONSIDER HOW MANY MILLION NOKIA HAVE SOLD. I every production plant there are failures. If big multi-billion dollar companies can make these errors such as Toyota as an example, then so can others. It is what you do to turn that around that matters most. Nokia have the back-up and support to see them through this one. So far their support to me has been excellent so dont except complacency and second rate service.

Don't even listen to me, i own it from the week it was launched and its a great one. You go check it to your satisfaction at any nokia priority dealer, try the camera, speed, music, hdmi, multitasking, gaming, then choose for yourself...

Most of Nokia's early units have some sort of faulty hardware.
5800 - earpiece
E90 - microphone
N76 - paint on the casing
N82 - dpad
N86 - camera lens cover
N97 - camera lens cover and gps chip
N8 - board
...among others.
It only applies to early units. These hardware problems get fixed on succeeding batches of this handsets though. So it isn't really wise to buy a new phone upon its release. Wait 3 to 5 months until the old stocks get replenished with new ones.

plz any one kind enough , who is using n8 for a while can tell me honestly how is this fone, cause i am really confused, cause people r buying this cell like crazy but on the other hand they r selling it back in a day or two, what is the reason why, is the fone not up to the mark or what, hanging or touch or what major drawback that is there. plz be kind and reply. waiting eagerly

[deleted post]LOL@I'm an N8 fanatic. In fact, I've been planning for so long to buy this phone until this hardware problem regarding Nokia N8 was exposed. Now, I'm lucky I didn't rush on buying this phone. I'll be waiting until March when 2nd batch of N8's with improved hardware is shipped before I buy this phone. Why don't you read the link to the article I posted. Nokia is releasing a defective early units of their handsets. They do it all the time, not just N8.
